The Fallen Consort

Mu Xin was beyond worried. Yi Ling's soul who was sleeping inside his chamber disappeared. He accompanied her and helped her ease the pain that she was undergoing for so many nights.

By the 3rd day, he felt that the process was almost over and that she will wake up soon. The same as what happened when he broke her First Seal. The next day, when she was due to wake up. Her soul disappeared, but her body was still alive and well. Her body was still sleeping in the room, where they rented in Feng Kingdom. The thing was, he couldn't feel her soul in it. As if, It was alive but only an empty shell.

He panicked and ordered Linyu and Tefei to search for her. He used some of his remaining powers to allow the both of them to sense her soul, if she was nearby. By the 7th day, They still haven't sensed her soul. Mu Xin was devastated. He should've never kept his distance from her. He thought that maybe she made the wrong concoction, that made her soul disappeared.

Mu Xin felt useless, he couldn't get out of the ring and search for her himself. He was grumpy the whole time. Tefei and Linyu was wise enough to keep their distance. As Yi Ling's contracted beast and herb, They can still feel the connection. Just that, it was blurry and they can't pinpoint where she was exactly. They can feel that she was alright, but she weak and vulnerable because of the pain she went through to break the Second Seal.

Linyu suggested to bring Yi Ling back to the Abyss. With Mu Xin's formation there, it'll be much safer. He didn't like the dangers lurking around the Feng Kingdom. Ever since the news broke out about the Spiritual Water, It brought a sensation in Feng Kingdom. Rumor has it that even the Mo Family gained a bottle of spiritual water from the same person that auctioned it. A lot of people was now hunting Yi Ling's company. It was only a matter of time before someone would be able to find them.

During this time, the Mo Family helped them to cover their tracks. But they can't keep them away for long.

Mu Xin understands the situation very well, he believes that it was the best solution for now. Until they find her soul, her body must not be in any sort of danger. So in the middle of the night, Linyu carried Yi Ling's and hopped on the back of Tefei. Tefei was now in the 7th Rank of Qi Condensation, Yi Ling's concoction raise his ranks twice. Now he was so big that can carry two, and faster than a normal mount. They travelled through night, without being spotted.

"Ling'er, where are you?.... Please don't leave me again... I beg of you, even if you won't love me in this lifetime. I just wanna be beside you and protect you..... I will always be here for you....." Mu Xin's fist was trembling. Tears was falling on his face.

Yi Ling will always be his weakness. This can never change. Not even a million years. He drank his sadness away, he had to be strong for her.

Before, he thought that he have to gain his strength back. To make her realize that they were destined together. But now, all he wished for is her happiness and for her to live well. He sighed. His punishment was too rough. But if it makes his wishes come true, so what? He'd rather be stuck in a place like this, than having the thought of never being able to see her again.
