Chapter 29.3: Curtains Rise on the Welcoming Banquet

With Situ Lan and Situ Jue, Duanmu Xi had quite a good impression of them. When she saw them coming forward to propose a toast, she lifted up her wine cup in response and emptied the cup of drink.

With the two people Situ Lan and Situ Jue to start the ball rolling, everyone then came forward to propose a toast one after another, offering their congratulations, and Duanmu Xi patiently accepted them one after another.

Gradually, Duanmu Xi’s fair complexion was tinged with a faint rosy pink flush which came to lend an additional allure to her originally cool demeanor.

Si Yun Han suddenly stood up, and raised his cup towards Duanmu Xi.

Lifting her eyes and seeing that unfamiliar handsome looking face, the smile on Duanmu Xi’s lips immediately retracted.

“Thank you.”

Duanmu Xi said her thanks softly, but did not raise her cup.

Seeing Duanmu Xi look at him like a stranger, a flash of panic came into Si Yun Han’s eyes.

[Was she blaming him her? Or was she punishing him?]

“Why is Your Highness Xi not accepting only Yun Han’s toast?”

His voice was mournful and sad.

When Si Yun Han’s words came out, everyone present creased up their brows, with Duanmu Xi, Xuanyuan Mo, and Duanmu Qing’s furrowed the deepest.

Duanmu Qing’s gaze was malevolent, her face tinged with green with a vein bulging at the temples.

[Damn this man! How dare he embarrass her in public like this! ?]

Xuanyuan Mo’s eyes darkened as he stared coldly at Si Yun Han on the opposite side.

[He likes Little Xi?]

[But he isn’t even qualified to be his enemy.]

Duanmu Xi’s eyes narrowed slightly and the expression on her face turned chilly.

[Duanmu Qing’s primary spouse? Did they know each other in the past?]
