The mobile team had assembled, and Alpha and Signal Vympel were also gathered here. They had been training here for so long, and now they were finally ready to graduate. Everyone knew the mission. Fred waved his hand, and the troops disappeared into the night.

Thorne arrived in Darmstadt as scheduled. Sure enough, Darmstadt was so clean and tidy now, completely unlike when he first arrived. The answers he got from the people around him were exactly the same as those on the paper last time, as if it had all been rehearsed.

The mayor was lost in his own world, talking on and on, which annoyed Thorne. The mayor even wiped away tears when he got emotional, and if Thorne hadn't known, he would have believed it.

"Darmstadt has a nice environment. I've heard there are quite a few tuberculosis patients here, is that true?"

"How could that be!" the mayor exclaimed, looking utterly distraught. "It's all slander! It's all slander! Darmstadt has the best sanatoriums and the best protective measures. How could we possibly have so many tuberculosis patients?"

"Your Highness, you must be tired from your journey. Please go and rest. Everything is ready here." The mayor quickly changed the subject. The royal family was difficult to deal with. If it weren't for the pressure from above, he wouldn't have invited this important person over.

"A banquet? I wonder if we need to pay 50,000 marks?"

Thorne's words startled the mayor. "Your Highness, you must be joking. How could I possibly ask you for 50,000 marks?"

"Haha, of course I was just kidding." Thorne patted the mayor on the shoulder. "Let's go, Mr. Mayor."

Seeing that Thorne was alright, the mayor breathed a sigh of relief and led Thorne to the banquet with a smile.

"Who's in charge of security this time?" Thorne asked casually, noticing the tight security around the hotel, where soldiers were on high alert.

"It's Captain Rommel."

“Rommel?” Thorne was somewhat surprised. “Is it Erwin Rommel?”

"Yes, Your Highness."

Good heavens, another formidable opponent. Thorne felt like he was playing a raising simulation game, collecting and nurturing each character one by one. He had already collected one of the three great generals of World War II, and now he had encountered another one. He wouldn't hold back.

"He made good arrangements. Call him over to see me, and I'll toast him."

Rommel arrived soon after. Thorne looked at the still rather inexperienced officer in front of him. He was still a bit green and needed some training before he could become the fearsome Desert Fox.

“Captain, I’d like to offer you a toast.” Thorne raised his glass to Rommel.

"Thank you, Your Highness." Rommel bowed to Thorne and raised his glass as well.

"In the Rhine Army, seniority doesn't matter. As long as you have the ability, you can become a marshal no matter how young you are. I have high hopes for you, Erwin."

As dusk approached, Thorne suggested visiting the Rhein Machinery Factory; it was time to close the net.

The factory manager was clearly startled when he looked at Thorne. Why did he look so familiar?

"Do you remember me?" Thorne chuckled as he looked at the factory manager, who was pale with fright.

"What? Your Highness, do you know him?"

"I'm more than just acquaintances; I even work for him. Factory manager, I haven't been paid yet."

"Your Highness, spare my life!" The factory manager's legs went weak, and he knelt on the ground.

"I can forgive you, but tell me what those workers eat every day, how long they work, and what about that child who committed suicide and his father who died of illness? Explain the situation to me, and then they'll forgive you!"

Thorne then looked at the still-stunned mayor. "Mayor, you must be having a great time in Darmstadt. Fifty thousand marks per person, you've made quite a bit of money over the years. And those missing people, you were responsible for that too, weren't you? There are so many tuberculosis patients in Darmstadt, and you're telling me you didn't? With the funds the Kingdom gave you, how many houses did you buy in Canada and England?"

"This, this, Your Highness, how did you know?"

“How should I know?” Thorne chuckled. “You really think these secrets are only known to you? Take them down!”

The men from Alpha and Signal Flag followed Thorne and, upon hearing Thorne's order, immediately stepped forward and seized the factory manager and the mayor.

"You guys are having a great time here! You're still trying to fool me! How much longer are you going to keep lying to me!"

After he finished speaking, several more Alpha soldiers came in from outside. "Your Highness, these men were carrying guns and acting suspiciously. We have apprehended them."

Thorne looked at the people kneeling on the ground, then at the mayor and factory manager over there.

"These guys are from the Unity of Germany Party, right? You did a good job, one gave them money and the other gave them guns. I was wondering why these terrorists in the Rhineland seem like they can never be caught. Take them all away!" Thorne wanted to take them back and treat them well.

"They didn't succeed?" Rom waited for a long time but didn't hear any news. Thorne was about to leave, and once he left, there would be no more opportunities.

"Second plan, quick!" He gritted his teeth; that was the only method he could use now.

Thorne was leading those people down the street when, for some reason, a man approached from the street ahead. Ignoring the warnings from the guards ahead, he strode towards Thorne. As he got closer to Thorne, his pace quickened, and then he started running.

"Don't move! This is a warning again! Don't come any closer!"

But the man acted as if he hadn't heard them and charged at them like a madman.

"Keep away!" the soldier shouted, raising his gun.

"Long live the Unity of Germany!" the man shouted, then pulled the fuse.

"Oh!"

As he pulled the trigger, the soldiers also fired at him.

"Boom!" After a violent explosion, the man was blown to pieces. This guy was trying to become a bomb man!

The ordeal didn't end there. After that person exploded, many more people rushed over, intending to carry out a suicide attack and leave Thorne there permanently.

"Damn it, something's wrong there!" Rommel also heard the explosion and quickly gathered his soldiers to rush over.

"What happened!" Suddenly, an officer and a group of men ran over.

"I don't know, there was an explosion ahead, something must have happened," Rommel explained.

"Ah? Then let's hurry up and go!" The officer directed the soldiers to go along as well.

"and many more."

Rommel suddenly realized that he didn't think he had ever seen this officer before.

"Which unit are you from? I've never seen you before."

“I’m from the 5th Defense Company, my name is Mora.”

“The Fifth Defense Company? Do you know Lucien?” Rommel asked.

"Lucien? I know him, of course I know him. Now is not the time to talk about this, let's go and take a look." The person was clearly trying to change the subject.

“The Fifth Defense Company doesn’t have Lucien, and I know all their officers.” Rommel drew his gun and pointed it at Mora. “Who are you!”

Seeing that she had been exposed, Mora stopped pretending and said, "You're very smart, but this is none of your business."

He drew his gun and was about to shoot Rommel, but Rommel, seeing the situation was not good, immediately dodged to the side, and the two sides engaged in a fierce firefight.

Fred and Lieutenant General Milch Strachwitz also heard the explosion. They were waiting for news from Thorne before heading into the city to search for members of the Unity German Party, but now it seemed something had gone wrong.

“It looks like something’s happened,” Lieutenant General Milch said.

"Captain Fred, we need to act quickly. I'll request more manpower from the War Department immediately."

“Thank you, Lieutenant General Milch.” Fred took out his gun. “We’ll go in first, Lieutenant General, you can wait here for the main force.”

"Mobile Unit! Follow me!"

Fred waved his hand, and a group of mobile units in black uniforms followed him as they rushed into Darmstadt.

Chapter Seventy-Five: The Beer Hall Riot

“Our brothers have already engaged the garrison. Although Mora’s operation did not achieve its intended goals, it has successfully delayed the army.”

"The kingdom's soldiers will definitely be drawn to them. What we need to do is launch a surprise attack when the kingdom's soldiers leave and the camp is empty."

"Having operated in Darmstadt for so many years, we've also developed quite a few party members within the military camp. They'll help us with our operations. Once we succeed, some of us will immediately go to reinforce Mora, while the rest will go find that prince. Ideally, we should capture him to increase our bargaining power. If all else fails, we'll chop him up. Understand?" Rom gestured to the map on the table and looked at the squad leaders around him.

"Understood!" the squad leaders replied in unison.

"Gentlemen."

Rom looked at the determined-looking squad leaders and felt a surge of excitement.

"I often say this, and I often feel this sentiment, but none have been as strong and profound as today: May God and the German people be with us! Long live the Unity German Party!"

"Long live the Unity German Party! Long live victory!" the squad leader below shouted.

“We are brothers, let’s make history together.” Rom looked at Fauci and gripped his hand tightly.

A beer hall, with a sign outside indicating it was temporarily closed, was already packed with people inside. This beer hall, the secret meeting place of the Unity German Party, was finally open for business that day.

The members of the Unity German Party below were all wearing red armbands, and those with connections had even gotten themselves a helmet. These members were gathered in small groups, leading rifles out of large wooden crates. These various firearms were the ones reported as damaged by the Rheinmetall factory.

The members of the Unity German Party checked the rifles, cocked them, and pulled the bolts, silently watching Röhm standing on the platform.

"The national revolution has begun!" Rom shouted from the high platform.

"The government of the Kingdom of the Rhine and the Rhine royal family have been overthrown, and a provisional national government has been established. Army barracks and police stations have been occupied, and our troops are advancing into the city under the banner of the United German Party."

"I am about to fulfill the oath I made nine years ago when I was temporarily blind in a military hospital. At that time, my heart was plunged into darkness. I was desperate about the future of Germany and about that war, that vile war for the benefit of the princes and nobles that devoured us! Our people gained nothing from this war!"

"At that time I swore that I would fight tirelessly until the Kingdom of the Rhine, this government composed of criminals and political prisoners, was overthrown, until a strong, free and glorious new government was re-established on the land of Germany today."

"This government, built on the bones of its people, must be overthrown! The corrupt and divided kingdoms will be destroyed by us in the future, and a unified Germany will rise!"

"I will kill all those filthy political prisoners and capitalists! I will lead the people to a new future! I will make those despicable nobles tremble with fear at the mere mention of our names! My pistol is already loaded with bullets! If I fail, I will let my life end in this great and magnificent revolution! I declare the Beer Hall Putsch open! Long live Germany! Long live the Unity of Germany!" Röhm shouted hysterically on the stage.

"Long live!" the party members below shouted.

"Halt! Who are you?" The soldiers standing guard at the entrance of the military camp raised their guns at the approaching group of people. The main force had gone outside to quell the riot, and there were hardly any people here. It was definitely not right for a large group of people to come this way.

"Don't come any closer, or else..." Before the soldier could finish speaking, the soldier behind him shot him down. "Come in quickly, we've almost got it under control."

The military camp was indeed under control; the soldiers and officers were tied up and left aside, and their weapons were collected and laid out.

"Traitors! You have tarnished the honor of the kingdom's soldiers! Traitors!"

Hearing someone cursing, a squad leader raised his hand and fired a shot, silencing him forever.

“These people cannot be kept alive. They should all be shot. They are all remnants of feudalism and cannot be tolerated in the ranks of the revolution.”

His men nodded and raised their guns, aiming them at him.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

After a few gunshots, all of them were dead.

“Report to the party leader that we have succeeded. Take the heavy weapons, and bring this armored vehicle with you. Send some men to reinforce Captain Mora, and the rest of you come with me.”

"Ding-a-ling, jingle-a-ling"

Everyone in the beer hall was anxiously awaiting news when the phone suddenly rang. A captain answered it and nodded twice.

"Party leader, they succeeded!" The captain's voice trembled with excitement.

"Comrades! Let us work together to create a new Germany!" Röhm shouted as he stepped down from the stage.

The members of the Unity German Party inside the beer hall followed him out the door.

At this moment, Rommel was engaged in a fierce battle with Mora and his forces. Rommel was temporarily in the lead due to his numerical advantage and was gradually closing in.

Just as they were preparing to completely defeat these people, an armored vehicle drove up from a distance. Rommel thought reinforcements had arrived and was feeling happy when suddenly the armored vehicle unfurled a flag. He knew the significance of this flag immediately; it was the flag of the Unity of Germany party.

"Rat-a-tat-tat!"

The armored vehicles' powerful firepower instantly suppressed Rommel's troops, and the battlefield instantly became chaotic again.

"Stay calm, don't panic, find cover and stay hidden, don't let them get past!" Rommel shouted from behind cover.

They lacked heavy firepower and were completely suppressed. The armored vehicles drew closer and closer, and just as they were about to make a desperate attack, gunshots suddenly rang out from behind them.

Even though Fred arrived with his troops, they had already obtained enough intelligence to know about the actions of the Unity German Party.

"I didn't expect there to be armored vehicles. These guys are really going all out."

Fred waved, and August walked over from the side. "Go and knock that armored vehicle down!"

"Understood, Captain."

August moved forward and took cover behind the bunker, crouching there with his rifle at the ready. Thorne had invested heavily in subsidizing the troops, so their equipment was definitely several eras ahead. August pulled out a bullet, loaded it into the magazine, and pulled the bolt, ready to show him what an armor-piercing incendiary round was.

"Oh!"

The immense recoil made August feel as if his shoulder had been shattered. The armored vehicle was hit and burst into flames, completely negating the enemy's huge advantage.

"Mobile team, advance!" Fred commanded his troops forward, joining Rommel in surrounding Mora's army.

"Stay calm, stay calm, don't..." Before he could finish giving the order, a sniper from the mobile unit shot him dead.

With Mora killed, the unit was on the verge of collapse and was quickly wiped out by Rommel and Fred.

"Hello, thank you for your assistance. I am Rommel. May I ask who you are?" Rommel asked, looking at the strangely dressed troops in front of him. He had never seen such a strange unit before.

“We are a special unit formed by His Highness Thorne, and I cannot disclose any further details.” Fred took out the identification documents Thorne had given them and handed them to Rommel.

"The situation is urgent. Lieutenant General Milch Strachwitz is already mobilizing troops. We need to get to Prince Thorne immediately."
