"So, Adam, are you accepting the family dinner?"

Chapter 128 Meeting without Recognition

"Family dinner?"

Adam glanced at Cologne who spoke:

"What kind of party is your family going to have? Has your sister found a match?"

"Uh... not yet."

Colon recalled their last visit to Hogsmeade and couldn't help but twitch his eyes:

"But my mother wrote to me and said that she, my father, and Kelly would be there when we go to Hogsmeade this weekend."

A letter home, full of nostalgia for delicious food between the lines, and the concern for Cologne is limited to the social rhetoric in the first sentence, which can be said to be very real.

"Um……"

Adam thought about it and nodded:

"no problem."

The weekend came quickly, and Adam conquered Cologne's whole family with a table of four cold dishes, four hot dishes, two soups and one dessert. Mr. Berg patted his chest and promised that he would definitely help Adam find a suitable restaurant location.

Even if it means driving the neighbors away, this restaurant must be opened next to their houses!

Adam declined the Colon family's enthusiastic invitation and had a small gathering at the Three Broomsticks Bar.

"I thought I saw Cedric just now."

Cologne stroked his chin and analyzed calmly:

"But he was heading in the direction of Honeydukes Candy Store... Didn't Adam already own that store? What was he doing there?"

Bernard sighed. “Is it possible that there is another shop called Mrs. Puddifoot’s Tea House in that direction?”

"He also likes tea?"

"..."

Bernard pinched the bridge of his nose and gave up on continuing the conversation for fear of corrupting the children.

"Butterbeer is coming~"

Adam returned with five glasses of butterbeer, and this time the glasses seemed even larger than the last time.

"I remember that there haven't been any new events at the convenience store during this period. The business of the Three Broomsticks Bar shouldn't be affected any further, right?"

After taking a sip, Adam studied the glass in his hand.

"I think it's probably because..."

Uther was halfway through his words when he suddenly heard a familiar voice.

"What brings you here, Minister?"

This was Madam Rosmerta's voice, but the voice Uther heard just now was not hers. Uther turned around and saw Professor Flitwick sitting not far away.

Oh, and Professor McGonagall, Hagrid, and the British Minister of Magic.

Uther recalled and vaguely remembered that the guy seemed to be called... Fudge?

"What else could it be for?"

Fudge took the wine he ordered and sighed:

"Of course it's about Sirius, who showed up at Hogwarts..."

When the Dementors broke into Hogwarts, Dumbledore called a group of parents to scold him. Lucius even blamed him for his son's fall from the broom...

If possible, he didn't want to see Dumbledore again this year. Unfortunately, Sirius was the only one who successfully escaped from Azkaban. This was too bad. Letting him out there every day would be a provocation to the authority of the Ministry of Magic. He had to come to Hogwarts again despite himself.

"Oh, it's about Halloween. I heard about it."

"Hagrid, did you tell the whole bar?"

Professor McGonagall's somewhat annoyed voice followed that of Madam Rosmerta.

The inside information of Hogwarts was leaked, and there was no one else to suspect who did it.

"Um, Professor McGonagall, you have to believe me, I didn't mean it."

Adam turned his head to look. Hagrid put down the wine glass which was a little too small for him and scratched his beard with his thick fingers with a little uneasiness:

"That day... I remember I just had a few drinks..."

"Okay Hagrid, let's not talk about the past anymore."

Professor Flitwick comforted him with a few words, and Hagrid was so moved that he wiped his eyes.

Madam Rosmerta was not very interested in the conversation between the professors. She leaned back in her chair and looked at Fudge with some gossip:

"So, Minister you think he's still here, still near the castle, correct?"

"Yes, although the professors have searched the castle thoroughly and found nothing, I believe he is here."

Fudge said firmly.

"So, do you know how many times my bar has been searched by Dementors?"

Madam Rosmerta's expression suddenly turned cold:

"Three times... three times! They've scared away all my customers. Business has been difficult these days... Will you continue the search?"

Hearing this, Uther looked at Adam:

"That's exactly what I was saying - business at the Three Broomsticks is probably worse because of the Dementors."

"Oh... dear, I don't like them either... but they are necessary measures, aren't they? It's for the safety of your pub, just like Hogwarts."

Fudge tried to muddle through.

"Dementors are not welcome at Hogwarts either."

Professor McGonagall snorted coldly, she thought of Harry who was hurt by Dementors twice.

After being scolded by the two people in a row, Fudge's confident expression just now was completely ruined. He avoided looking at Madam Rosmerta and Professor McGonagall awkwardly, picked up the wine glass and took a few sips, then handed the empty glass to Madam Rosmerta:

"Another Butterbeer, please."

He can't drink much, and he has some important things to do soon, so it's not suitable for him to consume too much alcohol.

When Madam Rosmerta came back, Fudge began to complain:

"I don't want to see such a scene either... Dumbledore told me before that this would have a bad influence, but you have to understand me. No one has ever successfully escaped from Azkaban since its establishment. If we let him go unpunished, how will everyone view the other prisoners in Azkaban?"

"No doubt people will wonder whether the remaining prisoners will also escape, and therefore whether the Ministry of Magic is able to keep these criminals in custody and protect their safety."

Professor Flitwick sighed.

Well, without a doubt, yes - I mean someone will break out of prison.

Adam silently drank a sip of butterbeer, then frowned and rubbed his thumb on the handle of the glass. The clear yellow liquid in the quilt suddenly turned amber.

Happy water tastes better.

"Yes! That's exactly what I was worried about!"

Fudge took a sip of butterbeer:

"And you know, Sirius, what a dangerous person that is!"

After these words were spoken, everyone at the table fell silent.

"Sirius..."

After a long pause, Madam Rosmerta sighed.

"Among the many people who joined the mysterious man, the one I find most unbelievable is probably him... Who could have thought that he would become that kind of person and kill so many people... Anyone who has seen what he looked like when he was in school would not believe such a thing."

"Who says it isn't? But you know, that's not all, Rosmerta."

Fudge frowned.

"In fact, he has done more serious and worse things..."

"Isn't it a bad idea for us to just sit here and listen?"

Cologne couldn't help but whisper.

"What are you afraid of? We're not eavesdropping."

Bernard looked indifferent. There was nothing blocking the table between them and the professor's table - there was originally a tree, but it was moved away by a student at another table using magic.

So the professors should have seen them, and since they continued to talk about it, it means that they are not afraid of being heard.

"It's so strange, why do people always ignore our existence?"

Adam couldn't help but look at the badgers on the chest of their robes. It couldn't be that it was really because their Badger House had a low presence?

Chapter 129 Letter from Parents

Someone at the next table added a little more, telling the story of how Sirius Black betrayed the Potters and how Pettigrew died heroically trying to stop him.

"A story of betrayal by a good brother."

Uther took a sip of butterbeer and looked at Bernard:

"What does our Mr. Paranoia think?"

"It's not surprising. I've seen this kind of thing many times. There's nothing new under the sun."

Bernard narrowed his eyes:

"Is it that Sirius finally revealed his true identity after hiding for many years, and that Pettigrew's courage burst out? Or is Pettigrew the one who hid the deepest, causing Sirius to suffer injustice for decades? Or is it that the Potters designed this fake death, and they actually have other plans..."

"But the Potters' home is protected by the Fidelius Charm."

Uther, who had seen Adam's safe house, warned.

"Magic makes the already complicated truth even more complicated and difficult to discern."

Bernard sighed.

"Why doesn't the Ministry just use Veritaserum to interrogate the prisoner?"

Eugene suddenly spoke:

"The core of the Fidelius Charm is that the secret-keeper must never reveal the secret, so it is not truly invulnerable."

Cologne's face lit up:

"You also think that it was Sirius who betrayed the Potters?"

"No, that would be too risky. Everyone knows he is the secret keeper. He could have chosen a more covert method... And as far as I know, the secret keeper can be replaced. Remember what Professor McGonagall said?"

Colon frowned and thought for a while, then picked out a suitable sentence from what Professor McGonagall said:

"Professor Dumbledore suspected that there was a mole among them... So you suspect that the one who did it was actually a mole?"

"Ah."

Eugene nodded and looked towards Butterbeer.

Cologne scratched his head:

"I still think Sirius is more suspicious. If he didn't do it, why did he stay in Azkaban for so many years without complaining?"

"Hasn't he just escaped from prison? As for the appeal..."

Bernard sneered:

"If his appeal was successful, wouldn't it mean that the Ministry of Magic at that time was just arresting people without a complete chain of evidence? If the Minister of Magic had not been changed, and he had the ability to successfully appeal, he would not have been thrown into Azkaban at that time."

Uther and Eugene did not comment on this. Cologne could not help but frowned and looked at Adam:

"What about Adam? What do you think?"
