"I think... after all, I should be the one to keep the secret of the Fidelius Charm."
Adam took a sip of the happy water.
"...makes sense."
Uther sighed.
"Eliminate the possibility of leaks at the root."
“Anything that comes out of your mouth and enters your ears is no longer a secret. If you really want to keep a secret, the best way is not to tell anyone.”
After hearing Adam's opinion, everyone nodded.
After returning to the dormitory, when everyone had finished their midnight snack, washed up and prepared to go to bed, Bernard suddenly spoke:
"Do you have a secret that you absolutely cannot tell anyone? Just answer 'yes' or 'no' - I'll say my answer first, which is 'yes'."
In silence, Bernard waited quietly for everyone's answer.
"No."
The first person to speak was Cologne. Looking at the look on his face as he was racking his brains to recall the past, one could tell that his answer came from the heart.
"Have."
Eugene was the second to speak.
At this moment, Uther asked:
"You can't tell anyone?"
"Yes, it doesn't count if you can tell anyone."
Uther glanced at Adam:
"No."
Holding Xiao Ke and Si Bi in his left and right hands respectively, Adam smiled back:
"Have."
Uther raised an eyebrow.
Bernard lay on the bed the whole time, listening to everyone's answers with his eyes closed, and smiled with satisfaction:
“Thank you for your honesty.”
After the days of going to Hogsmeade village, everyone's study life returned to normal.
Adam looked on with regret as the last dance lesson (crossed out) was completed. The self-protection content of the Care of Magical Creatures class was now completed. This part of his attention could finally be devoted to other things.
For example, the crown left by Rowena Ravenclaw has been in his hands for a long time. The soul fragments on this crown have now been purified. I believe Professor Flitwick will like this gift.
Just as Adam was thinking about how to make up the story of how he got the crown, Eugene threw open the dormitory door and rushed in.
"Haha! They're coming back—this Christmas!"
"Who? Who's back?"
Cologne was furiously writing the homework that would be checked in tomorrow's class when he looked up in confusion.
"It's none of your business, write quickly!"
Bernard was entrusted by Cologne to make sure he finished his homework before doing anything else. Now he was sitting next to Cologne. When he saw him looking up, he pushed his head back down.
"Are your parents coming back?"
Uther was standing in front of the floor-length mirror combing his hair, sleepily. Every time he woke up, his semi-long hair would give him a different hairstyle.
"That's right! They said the exploration went very well and they will come back to see us this Christmas!"
Eugene sat on the bed for a few seconds, then stood up:
"Should I buy new clothes? Will they recognize me? Will I be able to recognize them then?"
"They should at least know where your home is, right?"
Bernard turned a page in the book in his hand and said without looking up:
"You and your grandmother are the only ones in your family, right? They can't possibly mistake you..."
"Oh! Right...should I make some preparations?"
Eugene walked around the dormitory a few times and looked at Adam:
"Adam, I'd like to buy some snacks and a cake... Are there any dishes that are easy to carry and can be heated up and eaten?"
"Yes, what kind do you want?"
"..."
Eugene was silent for a moment, as he remembered that he had no idea what his parents liked to eat...or rather, he had no idea what his parents liked at all.
But it doesn’t matter, he still has his grandmother. Even if her daughter-in-law is away all year round and she is not very familiar with her, it is impossible for her not to know what her son likes to eat.
Eugene immediately sent a letter to his grandmother, telling her that his parents would be back for Christmas and asking her if she knew his parents' preferences, especially in terms of food.
After waiting for three days in somewhat agonizing anticipation, Eugene finally received a reply from his grandmother.
Taking the envelope back to the dormitory, Eugene excitedly opened the envelope and took out the letter. However, when he saw the contents on the letter, the excitement and smile on his face disappeared.
"What did you say?!" x4
"I...my grandma said..."
In the end, he was unable to repeat what he had just said. Eugene stretched out his trembling hands and handed the letter to everyone.
Adam, who was sitting opposite Eugene, took the letter and took a look at it, his pupils suddenly shrank.
Chapter 130 The Result of Divination
The letter paper is not big, so even if it is filled up, not many words can be written on it, but the amount of information is explosive.
The first sentence at the beginning is that Eugene's grandmother asked him not to go back for Christmas, and the following explanation was what shocked Adam so much.
"Two months ago, your parents met with an accident while exploring the ruins. Their bodies were sent back by the friends who were exploring the ruins with them, and they were buried directly after they were sent back. The bodies were not damaged to the point where they could not be identified. I checked before that, and they were indeed your parents."
Eugene's grandmother explained that she didn't tell him because she knew Eugene had always had a strong admiration for his parents and she was afraid that Eugene would be hit too hard.
She even planned to keep up the lie that her parents were exploring the ruins. If nothing unexpected happened, she would keep this secret until the day she died.
Unexpectedly, Eugene had received a letter from his parents before...
"So, that letter...was it from a ghost?"
Cologne's little face turned pale with fear.
"Is it possible that Eugene's parents sent the letter first and then met with the accident?"
Uther analyzed.
"Will an owl letter be delayed for two months?"
Bernard didn't quite believe this possibility. In contrast...
"I think the things in the ruins were too precious, so your parents and their friends ended up fighting among themselves, and eventually your parents got the things."
Facing the different looks from the four people, Bernard continued with his reasonable inference:
"Maybe your parents are not dead, so their friends set their sights on your grandmother and you, hoping to get that thing through you."
"Or maybe your parents are indeed dead, and their friends thought that since they have already killed your parents, why not kill your grandmother and you as well, and get what your parents once gained?"
"It's also possible that your parents died, but their friends didn't get the item, so they thought the item was in your hands now, so they pretended to be your parents to deceive you..."
"Wait, this last one is impossible?"
Cologne couldn't help but retort:
"The bodies of Eugene's parents were sent by a friend, right? Then why did they pretend to be his parents..."
"The person who delivered the body and the person who pretended to be Eugene's parents might not be the same group of 'friends'."
Bernard shook his head and then looked at Cologne:
"And if you say that, you also think that the other situations I mentioned make sense, right?"
"..."
Cologne remained silent.
Looking at Eugene, whose face had lost all color, Adam comforted him:
"What Bernard said is indeed possible, but these are not the only possibilities..."
It’s just that Adam couldn’t think of other possibilities so quickly at the moment - not everyone can have a case database in their head like Bernard can directly apply it.
After saying that, Adam turned the letter over.
There wasn't much on the other side of the letter. Eugene's grandmother said she had contacted several friends and was waiting for someone claiming to be Eugene's parents to come.
If it was Eugene's parents who came, Eugene's grandmother said that she would let them wait at home until Eugene came home for the summer vacation, even if she had to break their legs, and the family would meet before leaving. But if it wasn't...
In short, at the end of the letter, she once again warned Eugene to stay at Hogwarts and not go back during Christmas.
Putting down the letter, Adam took out the sealed book and looked at Eugene:
"We are here now, and we can't find out anything with these letters. We can only guess... How about I try to divine your parents?"
It was unclear whether Adam's divination was accurate, but Eugene nodded anyway.
The ten Clow cards were laid out in order, and Adam turned over the first card.
"Double cards?"
Adam looked at the Clow Card with confusion on his face.
Double cards...what does this mean?
Adam had previously told Uther about his divination process, and Uther now whispered to Eugene beside him that the first Clow Card was a hint of the result.
Knowing that Adam had successfully predicted the danger Uther would encounter last time, Eugene became obviously more serious about this divination.
"So...what does this mean?"
Facing Eugene's question, Adam was silent for a moment:
"It's not clear yet, let's see what happens next."
After saying that, Adam turned over the three Clow Cards in the middle row.
"Mirror cards, phantom cards, shadow cards?"
Looking at these three Clow Cards, Adam frowned:
"Now at least we can be sure that the people who wrote to you were not your parents."
Mirror images, illusions, shadows, they are all false.
Eugene took a deep breath:
"Then...then are they still alive now..."
"They must still be alive."
Adam said firmly that what Eugene needed now was hope, and he didn't think the current situation was as dangerous as Uther's last divination result.
The last time Uther played a deck of cards that included destroying cards, confusing cards, and hidden cards. It was almost like having a blood-red "Danger" character on his head.
As for Eugene's parents, at least for now, there are no Clow Cards that indicate a bad direction.
Eugene nodded, and Adam turned over the last Clow Card.
The next target of the divination object is no card.
Adam's face suddenly turned paler than Eugene's.
Last time he was thankful that there were no dead cards in the Clow Cards, but now he seemed to have found a card that was no different from a dead card...

"Wu! Aren't you the Adam card? Why are you in the Clow Card pile?"
Adam clearly didn't put the No Card and the Love Card in when he shuffled the cards...
