"Sphinx?! That sounds amazing!"
The freshman who said his parents were ordinary people sighed:
"My parents were more ordinary, they met in court - they were lawyers representing the plaintiff and the defendant."
Lawyer, maybe it will be much easier to run the restaurant after you establish a good relationship with him.
"My parents met at the dragon farm. They were colleagues."
"My parents also met at work. My dad was transferred from the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes to become an Auror in order to pursue my mom."
"My parents met at Hogwarts, and they hoped that I would find my other half while I was at school."
……
Hiss... I didn't expect that Hufflepuff also has such hidden talents!
Hufflepuff friendship is trustworthy, and building good relationships now may come in handy in the future.
With this in mind, Adam also joined the discussion:
"My parents are also ordinary people. My family runs a restaurant."
"Oh! Really? I thought my parents were the only normal ones."
The freshman's eyes lit up and he took the initiative to extend his hand:
"My name is Bernard Lanslock. I just heard you say your name is Adam?"
"Yes, you and your family are welcome to our restaurant. It's my treat."
Adam gave the names of Mr. Reed and Ms. Li's restaurant and hotel.
"So that's your business? There's one not far from my house! I really like your red wine stewed beef, it doesn't have any fishy smell at all!"
Bernard's eyes widened. He thought that Adam's family just opened a restaurant run by a couple, but he didn't expect it to be the two-story French restaurant near his home!
"Adam, can we go to your restaurant, too?"
The other little wizards around couldn't help but be excited. They had no idea about Adam's restaurant, but they heard about the beef stew without any fishy smell.
They are just used to eating it, it doesn’t mean they like the fishy smell of beef!
"Of course, everyone can come, but if you are a student who has always lived in the wizarding world, it is best to dine in the private rooms, otherwise some of your special living habits and expressions may attract the attention of ordinary people."
"No problem!"xN
When it comes to their passion for food, Hufflepuffs are definitely serious.
Chapter 13 Hufflepuff Common Room
By the time the dinner was over, Adam had gotten to know all of this year's freshmen as well as several seniors who sat close to him.
Should we say that loving food is a common trait of Hufflepuffs?
I feel like I can open a chain of French and Chinese restaurants in the wizarding world in the future.
The food disappeared from the table, and Professor Dumbledore stood up and said to everyone:
"At the beginning of the new semester, I have to remind everyone of the following points: First-year students, please note that no student is allowed to enter the forest behind the school - some senior students are advised to keep this in mind as well."
Professor Dumbledore glanced towards the Gryffindor table.
"Our administrator, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you not to cast spells in the corridors during class breaks. The review of Quidditch players will be conducted in the second week of this semester. Students who are interested in joining the house team, please contact Ms. Hooch."
At this point, Professor Dumbledore paused and emphasized his tone:
"Finally, I must tell you all not to go near the corridor on the right hand side of the fourth floor of the library, if you don't want to bleed from all seven orifices and die in agony."
After the words were spoken, the auditorium was silent for a few seconds.
The freshmen looked at each other in bewilderment, and the seniors frowned as they thought about this additional point of attention that was required compared to previous years.
"Okay, that's all I have to say. Finally, let's sing the school song together. Everyone can choose the tune they like."
After a hodgepodge of school song choruses, Professor Dumbledore asked the prefects to take the students back to their respective dormitories.
The four teams separated at the staircase after leaving the Great Hall - Ravenclaw and Gryffindor going up, and Hufflepuff and Slytherin going down.
“The advantage of having the dorm underground is that our stairs don’t run around on their own, and even if there’s a storm we can still enjoy a quiet and comfortable sleep in the dorm.”
An upperclassman whom Adam had just met at the dinner introduced him.
"Besides, even though our dormitory is underground with the Slytherin's, it's much warmer, and besides that...ah, here it is!"
The Hufflepuff team stopped in front of a huge painting of a fruit plate. Prefect Bruce turned around and looked at everyone:
"The Hufflepuff common room and dormitory are in front of you, but please allow me to stop here and introduce them to you. In front of you is the Hogwarts kitchen - yes, it is right next to our dormitory."
Facing the freshmen's excited whispers, Bruce smiled and walked to the painting:
"Look, if you just reach out and scratch this pear—"
The pear seemed to be tickled, and after shaking for a while, it turned into a green door handle.
"It will become a door handle, and you can pull it open to enter the kitchen. I believe some people's stomachs always growl in the dead of night, just like me."
Touching his belly, Bruce sighed:
"On a cool night, who can resist a hot glass of pumpkin juice with a plate of grilled sausages?"
"Come on, you'll want an ice cold butterbeer and chips in the summer!"
A senior who seemed to be very familiar with Bruce complained, causing the little badgers to laugh.
"Oh, Vivian, don't tear me down at a time like this... but you have to admit that they go really well with the summer weather, don't you?"
Bruce shrugged, seemingly not caring about the senior's teasing.
"There's butterbeer in school?"
Adam looked at the senior who had been introduced to him earlier.
"There's none in school, but there is in Hogsmeade. You can go to Hogsmeade after your third year. You can buy some butterbeer and ask the house elves in the kitchen to keep it for you."
The senior explained:
“They’d be happy if you’d leave the barrel with them after you finish drinking it.”
After introducing the kitchen, the team continued forward. Not far to the right of the kitchen entrance was a pile of huge oak barrels. The entrance to the Hufflepuff lounge was here.
"Remember the way in. Tap the bottom lids of the two middle barrels in the second row in the rhythm of 'Helga Hufflepuff' and the lids will automatically swing open."
Bruce demonstrated to the freshmen as he spoke:
"Don't knock the wrong way, or you'll be covered in jealousy. Also, although we don't exclude students from other colleges, please keep the method of entering the lounge confidential. I think everyone should need some relatively private space, right?"
As they were talking, the lid of the oak barrel was opened, and Adam and the others walked along the passage and entered the Hufflepuff common room - a round, low-ceilinged room with a faint earthy fragrance.
The yellow of earth and copper decorations and the green of plants form the main tones of the Hufflepuff common room. There is a circle of round windows very close to the ceiling, and a warm fire is burning in the fireplace.
Above the fireplace, there was a large picture frame decorated with several dancing badgers. In the frame, Ms. Helga Hufflepuff saw the students entering, smiled and raised the golden cup to greet everyone.
"Entering from this passage is the boys' dormitory, and going from this side is the girls' dormitory. By the way, although I believe in your morals, in order to avoid unnecessary trouble, boys are not allowed to enter the girls' dormitory area."
Bruce clapped his hands:
"Okay, let's split up. Old students can go back to the dormitories. Male freshmen, follow me. Female freshmen, follow Vivian. She is your female class leader."
Bruce led Adam to the door of the dormitory that looked like an oak barrel cover. After bidding farewell to the enthusiastic class leader, Adam entered the dormitory with his roommates.

Among his roommates were Uther Ramses and Bernard Lanslock, who had sat next to Adam at the dinner, and two other classmates:
Eugene Krall, a big brother who was taller than most of his peers, didn't say much at the dinner and spent most of his time listening to what everyone was saying. Adam knew only that he liked to eat fish.
Well, because of the few times he had spoken up before, two of them were to ask Adam's restaurant whether they had fish and how it was cooked.
Cologne Pamir, a very lively teenager, introduced himself very enthusiastically and comprehensively. He likes various games such as Quidditch, Wizard Chess, Gobstones, etc.
Adam also found out that his family was engaged in the breeding of magical animals and opened a shop called Rare Birds and Beasts in Hogsmeade village.
Under the warm light of the copper lamp, five black and yellow four-poster beds appeared in front of the five people. Each person's name was posted on the bedpost. There was no need to worry about making a mistake. Bernard walked to his own four-poster bed first and sat down:
"Wow, this dormitory is bigger than I thought."
Looking around, Bernard was startled by the package next to Adam's bed that was almost touching the ceiling:
"Whoa! What are these?"
Adam also sat on the bed and was checking his luggage. Hearing this, he stood up and took a look:
"Oh, these are the books I bought at Flourish and Blotts. It looks like they've been delivered."
"Book?!"
Cologne turned around and opened his mouth wide:
"So many? Did you empty out Flourish and Blotts?"
"Almost exactly, actually. I did buy a copy of most of the books in Flourish and Blotts."
Adam stroked his chin and thought for a while, then nodded:
“I like reading.”
"...I can see it."
The mountain of books was simply a horror story for Cologne, who loved games more than studying. He shuddered and stopped reading. Instead, he said:
"Everyone wants to shower? Let's go together? I just saw a map in the common room."
Chapter 14 Dormitory Renovation Plan
In response to Cologne's invitation to take a bath together, several other roommates responded.
"I won't go. There are too many things to sort out."
Not to mention the mountain of books and the box of luggage that Adam brought with him, Adam had previously sent six boxes of luggage to Hogwarts via owl post.
With so many things, even basic organization takes a lot of effort.
"There shouldn't be any rush to organize it, right? Take out the things you'll need for class first, and we can help you with the rest on the weekends when you don't have classes."
"Yes, yes. If you don't take a shower, even the bed will get dirty, and then you have to wash the sheets and quilts."
"Don't worry about that."
Adam smiled and reached into his cloak, actually summoning a wand from his palm and pointing it at himself:
"Clean up!"
The roommates looked at Adam, who became clean and smooth after a gust of wind, and couldn't help but glance at the mountain of books next to him.
Well, it’s true that I didn’t buy all those books in vain.
"Although this spell is not as comfortable as taking a hot bath, it does save time... Do you want to try it?"
Adam looked at the four people eagerly.
"No, no, no, I still want to take a hot bath."
After Colon finished speaking, Bernard and Eugene also nodded. However, Uther stroked his chin and thought for a while before deciding to take a hot bath.
"Then let's go and test the water temperature in the bathroom for you~"
After his roommates closed the dormitory door, Adam looked at the top of his luggage, where there was a letter tied with a bow.
Opening the envelope, leaving aside the embellished words, Dumbledore invited him to have afternoon tea with him in the headmaster's office on the eighth floor tomorrow afternoon, and also attached a password - coconut sorbet.
Adam couldn't help licking his lips recalling the taste of this snack.
It must be said that the desserts in the magical world taste pretty good.
After putting the letter away, Adam did not start packing his luggage immediately, but took out Spicy and Xiao Ke from his pocket. They also ate some during the dinner.
"It's time for you to take a shower. Do you want to clean yourself up? Or use a bubble bath?"
The magic of the bubble card is that it can create pink bubbles with cleaning power, which can clean people or things thoroughly.
