His vision blurred, but in his dying moments, he saw the wizard.

He huddled in the doorway like a helpless child, a man standing over him.

The man suddenly realized, oh, it turns out that he is about to die too.

When Koz stopped, there was no one alive in the house.

They begged him for mercy before they died, but Curze didn't want to spare them, so he begged for mercy for those who died.

Curze turned around and saw Wop waiting for him at the door. The wizard with blue eyes was kneeling at his feet and wailing in pain.

Curze did not kill the wizard. He said to Wop, "Help me kill him."

Wop: "You have the choice of whether each person lives or dies."

Coz asked, "I choose to let him die, but I want you to help me carry it out, is that okay?"

Wop saw the expectation in his eyes and nodded.

Wop tries to kill the wizard with his psionics, but Curze hands him the shard.

Wop thought about it and felt that there was no difference. He squatted down, carefully searched the wizard's neck, and scratched it hard.

There was a blood line on the wizard's neck, but no blood flowed out.

"The force isn't enough, and the position is wrong." Koz gestured to him, "Cut from here, cut to here."

Wop followed his instructions and slashed with the fragment, and blood spurted out.

A smile appeared on Curze's pale face because Wop helped him, which was what he asked for.

Chapter 19 A Spark

"This is so stupid." Sevatar squatted on the watchtower, complaining non-stop, "Why should I listen to him?"

"But haven't you been listening to him?"

Thor sat on the ground, holding the laser gun against his thigh with his misshapen arm.

Ben's tentacle wrapped a rag, wet it with clean gray water, and handed it to Thor. Thor took the rag with his intact hand and wiped the laser gun.

He cherishes this gun very much, and this gun helps him find his own value.

In the past, he had been ignored because of his deformity. Coze made him realize for the first time that he could fight!

"That's what he threatened me with!" Sevatar shouted.

Fili: "He never threatened us. He just asked you to go with him. You can refuse."

Sevatar: "He looked at me with a fierce look. Do I dare to refuse?"

Ben: "Koz is not mean at all, he's very kind."

"You say that because he didn't discriminate against a filthy mutant like you. That doesn't mean anything. He's killed far more people than he's saved!"

"He has killed many people, and we have killed many too. But you shouldn't say that about Ben. It's very rude, Sevatar. We are companions."

"It doesn't matter, I'm a mutant."

Thor did not stand on Sevatar's side this time. Instead, it was Ben who defended Sevatar.

"Sevata, apologize to Ben!" Fili glared at him.

Sevatar realized that he had said the wrong thing and wanted to apologize, but Fili's words made him not want to apologize anymore.

He stiffened his neck, said nothing, and stared into the darkness in the distance.

The people of Nostramo all have night vision, a skill they must learn if they want to survive in the dark.

Sevatar can see further because he is a psyker.

"Apologize!" Fili stopped him.

Sevatar said with a straight face, "I'm on guard, don't disturb me."

Dorothy covered her mouth but couldn't hide her laughter. Only at times like this did they behave like children.

"Dao..." Sevatar pressed Fili's head and forced her to squat. The beam grazed Sevatar's ear and hit the roof of the sentry tower. Sevatar shouted, "There are enemies, patrols, defend, defend!"

Thor quickly switched from a sitting position to a half-squatting position. Ben helped him hold the laser gun so that he could aim better, and was also responsible for helping him change bullets.

His marksmanship was the best among the five. He calculated the trajectory of the beam of light and fired a shot into the darkness.

The laser illuminated the darkness, and although it was only for a short time, Sevatar could see his surroundings clearly.

"You hit it, Thor! There are a lot of them, be careful!"

The Blood Claw Gang's defenses are indeed impregnable, and having only one gate is their biggest advantage.

The older kids had received shooting training from Thor and other gang kids, and although they weren't very good at it, neither were the other gang members.

Every bullet of the Bottom Nest Gang is precious, and they only have the chance to fire in actual combat.

Many of these children do not understand the justice and order that Koz pursues, but they actually enjoy their human rights here.

They had endless amounts of corpse starch to eat every day. It was the first time they had a full meal without having to risk their lives fighting with scavengers for a bite of garbage.

They can sleep in bed until they wake up naturally without worrying about being killed and eaten in their dreams.

They can also receive education from teachers Wop and Dorothy, an education that only the powerful people living in the upper class are qualified to receive.

For this power, they are willing to defend it with their lives.

"For order!" someone shouted.

"For Curze!" Thor and Ben shouted.

"For Wop!" cried Fili.

"For the Night Haunter!" Sevatar shouted.

"For the Night Haunter!" they all shouted, for they were all the Night Haunter.

The gang's attack was repelled, leaving behind several bodies and costing Night Haunter hundreds of rounds of bullets and lasers.

This was just a tentative attack. The gangs were testing how much combat power these kids could unleash, and concluded that these kids were no easier to deal with than the Blood Claw Gang. However, these kids also exposed their weaknesses; they didn't know how to save at all.

"How could you open fire so carelessly?" Sevatar was furious. "We fired so many shots, and only a few of them died? Can't you wait until you can see who's there before you open fire? If we keep squandering our ammunition like this, they'll use up all our ammunition with just a dozen bodies. What will we do then?"

"We still have knives," said a child.

"Fight them!"

"Idiot! Our mission is not to destroy the enemy, but to hold this place and wait for Teacher Wop and Coze to come back!"

Sevatar cursed, and when the kids heard him talk about Wop and Koz, they gave up arguing and agreed with him.

Dorothy helped him comfort the others: "Just be careful next time. Sevatar is right. We don't have many bullets left."

Peace returned to the camp. The children were immersed in the joy of repelling the enemy and whispered excitedly. Only Sevatar was still squatting on the ground sulking.

"A bunch of idiots, do they think they won?"

Fili walked up to him and squatted down. "Thank you."

Sevatar's words, "We are companions," took on a different meaning when they reached his lips: "Don't you want me to apologize?"

Fili said seriously, "You saved me, and I want to thank you. But you insulted Ben, so you should apologize. There's no conflict. Teacher Wop taught us to treat each other as one thing at a time. We are companions and must shoulder the burden of building order in the new world. We shouldn't let a small matter create barriers between us."

"Ah! I see." Sevatar didn't want to be lectured and interrupted her loudly, "I'm sorry, is this okay?"

"It's okay." Ben said with a simple smile.

His head felt a little itchy, and he wanted to scratch it with his tentacles, but the tentacles had no nails, so they could only slip on his head.

"Here?" Thor scratched it for him.

"A little further down."

"We're still building a new world, but we still rely on them. What can you do?" Sevatar's addiction came back again.

Fili waved her fist. "They are the sun, and we are fireflies. But Teacher Wop told us that a single spark can start a prairie fire."

Sevatar retorted, "That's just a story, a beautiful fairy tale. There's no such place in the world! He also told the story of Dragon Quest. How could such a person exist in the world?"

"Yes, Mr. Wop said he saw it on Terra."

"Do you know where Terra is? Do you believe everything he says?"

"I believe it." Fili nodded.

"What if he wants you dead?" Sevatar asked.

He regretted what he said as soon as he said it and wanted to slap himself.

Fili said seriously, "Then I must have done something wrong, a sin that cannot be forgiven."

Chapter 20: Midnight Haunter

"Would they be a good foundation?" asked Coates.

They had been back a long time ago, and the bosses of the Hadrid Gang and other gangs had been killed, but they had been secretly observing the performance of these kids.

Wop: "You have to pound it to make solid rammed earth, you have to fire it to make good bricks, and then you can use the rammed earth and bricks to build a solid foundation. Whether they make a good foundation depends on you."

"And you," Coze said. "You taught them, and you taught me too."

"This is your kingdom," Wop reminded him.

"It's yours too." Curze looked at him with a serious expression. "No matter what this kingdom becomes, half of it belongs to you."

Wop smiled: "It seems that you have really changed."

Koz wondered, how had he changed?

Wop asked, "Did I ever tell you the story about Batman?"

Koz shook his head.

He was born with knowledge, but he was not omniscient. He had never heard of the fairy tales that Wop told him.

"Then let me tell you something. A long time ago, there was a world called Gotham. The Wayne family was the richest family in this world. But one day, the head of the Wayne family, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne, were on their way to a movie when they were brutally murdered by a thug in an alley."

"Why don't they bring security?" Coz asked. "Even gang leaders know to bring security when they go out."

"It's not important. Just listen to me and don't interrupt me!" Wop interrupted him. "Anyway, they died, leaving only little Bruce alone. When he grew up, Bruce decided to fight criminals, so he put on the bat suit, transformed into Batman, and hunted down all the criminals in the world."

"Whenever he found a criminal, he would kill them in the most brutal way possible, peel off their skin and hang it on the spire of the hive city. He would record the scene of their torture and send it to thousands of households, making everyone live in fear and panic."

"Finally one day, all crime in this world disappeared. Under Batman's benevolent rule, no one dared to commit a crime, not even stealing. Because Batman's judgment was only the cruel death penalty, the severity of the crime would determine the way of death."

Koz listened quietly and expressed his thoughts.

"He's stupid."

"It's very stupid." Coz nodded. "There's another version of this story. It's still Bruce, and it's still this couple. His parents were brutally murdered by gangsters, and Bruce grew up with the same determination to fight crime. He put on the Batsuit and captured all the criminals in the world, but he also had a principle of not killing. No matter how vicious the criminals were, he wouldn't kill them. He would just put them in jail and let the law judge them."

"But these criminals always find ways to escape the punishment of the law, time and again causing trouble for Bruce and causing greater damage to the world."

"Even then he doesn't kill anyone?"

"do not kill."

"He's even more stupid," Coates said. "He has his own principles, but they are extremely stupid. Even if he doesn't kill those criminals, he should supervise the implementation of the law and make sure they are punished by the law, instead of just catching them and leaving them alone."

Wop: "If it were you, what kind of Batman would you want to be?"

Koz thought seriously.

"I will kill, kill all criminals, until good people are afraid to commit crimes."

He has always done this, and now he is just more determined in his thinking.

Wop didn't try to persuade him. He felt that Coze was still a little extreme, but there was nothing wrong with being a little extreme.

If we don't kill the criminals, will we keep them alive to harm more people?

Besides, Koz doesn't kill everyone. He believes from the bottom of his heart that everyone in this world is guilty.

But Coze was merciful. He did not kill those children. He would give them a chance to atone for their sins.

Wop turned around and saw a group of children following them.

These are all children brought from gangs that were eliminated by them. Some are gang children, and some are orphans.
