"Roar!"

Then Jolyne easily smashed his head.

Saeko Busujima, standing behind him, wore an expression of disbelief.

As the national kendo champion, she considered herself to be very strong, but she could only crack the head of a zombie. It was unimaginable how strong Jolyne, who could blow a zombie apart with a single blow, must be.

Unable to contain her surprise and doubt, Saeko Busujima couldn't help but ask Jolyne, "Who exactly are you?"

Jolyne casually blasted two more zombies to pieces and swung her bandaged right hand.

"I?"

"Fourth place in the Japan Youth Karate Championship, winning for the third consecutive time."

???

Saeko Busujima asked, puzzled.

What is Japan Prefecture?

Why a youth karate competition?

Still fourth place?

Three consecutive wins?

Is karate really that scary now?

Shizuka Marikawa clapped along politely, but this attracted an attack from the zombies, so she hurriedly moved closer to Jolyne.

"These zombies seem to be more sensitive to sound."

Jolyne noticed this and gestured for the two of them to quiet down.

As expected, the zombies seemed to have lost sight of their prey, stopped attacking, and wandered around the corridor.

Having completely lost their sight, do they rely on their hearing to find their prey?

Although she wasn't afraid of the zombies, less trouble would be better. Suddenly becoming a prospective player as the park had described, and encountering so many things, Jolyne still had a lot to sort out. Anyway, she had to survive for seven days, so there was no rush to "farm points" now.

The two of them made it through the corridor and across the skybridge between the teaching buildings to their office. There were far fewer zombies here, probably because they had been drawn away by people from other places.

Jolyne also saw Saeko Busujima's strength. He didn't understand swordsmanship, but judging from her strength and speed, Saeko Busujima's strength was ridiculously high compared to ordinary people, making her a very good combat force.

Suddenly a scream rang out, followed by the sound of a chainsaw echoing throughout the entire teaching building.

"Someone?"

Saeko Busujima slowed her pace as she spoke.

"Let's go check on the situation."

Jolyne remembered this as a famous scene.

The noise came from near the office. When Jolyne arrived at the classroom, she witnessed the pink-haired girl attacking a zombie with a power drill. The zombie was caught in the chainsaw, and blood and flesh flew everywhere.

"The pinker the hair, the fiercer the fight."

Jolyne was somewhat surprised; thankfully, Kirisu-sensei didn't have that kind of violent personality.

Several people were already present.

A man who looks just like the main character, a fat man holding a nail gun with a terrified expression, a brown-haired guy, plus the blond and purple-haired guys next to Jolyne, it feels like the classic survival team from the movie is all there.

Pink Hair had stopped drilling after Brown Hair persuaded him, and was now trembling and collapsed on the ground, hugging Brown Hair and crying.

"With the drill making such a loud noise, this place will probably be surrounded by zombies soon."

Jolyne couldn't help but speak up to warn him.

He absolutely hates crying; hearing it is like being subjected to noise pollution.

And in this situation, if you don't run away, are you just waiting for the protagonist's halo to kick in? Luckily, this isn't some dark or sad anime, otherwise, you'd probably have to sacrifice a brown-haired guy's head to get to the next part of the story.

“This classmate is right, we have to go quickly, Li.”

The black-haired man spoke up and stepped forward to help the pink-haired man up.

"This must be the main character," Jolyne thought to herself, wondering if killing the original protagonist would improve her trial score.

There were many people present, and most of them were capable of fighting. Jolyne simply stayed by Shizuka Marikawa's side, pretending to be a patient and taking the opportunity to observe the group.

"You were the champion of last year's national kendo tournament, right, Busujima-senpai?"

The brown-haired boy watched with starry eyes as Saeko Busujima slayed a zombie with a single sword strike.

Her name is Miyamoto Rei, a member of the marksmanship club. She is very close to the male protagonist, Komuro Takashi, and is suspected to be his main love interest.

"Your marksmanship is also quite good, Miyamoto-kun."

The spearmanship here refers to long spears. That chubby kid named Hirano Toda actually made his own nail gun, hitting the bullseye every time; apparently, he learned it at summer camp. Jolyne felt he had the potential to film an episode in Tokyo's Beika Ward.

Shizuka Marikawa pondered beside Jolyne why Saeko Busujima, the kendo champion, seemed less skilled than Jolyne, the fourth-ranked karate player.

"By the way, is this student from our school?"

Komuro Takashi glanced at Jolyne suspiciously, especially at the bandages on his hands; one could always make connections to something in this situation.

"I haven't been to school before due to some special reasons, and I just happened to come here today to process my withdrawal and this happened."

"The injury on my hand, um, from a fall."

Jolyne made up a random excuse to cover up the loophole in his identity. The teachers were probably all dead by now, so no one could stand up and refute him.

These words clearly wouldn't earn their trust, and Jolyne didn't care about their attitude; he was only going to stay there for seven days.

We've arrived at the office.

Chapter 5 Are you questioning me?

Enter the office, kill a few wandering zombies, and close the door.

With the outside dangers removed, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and enjoyed this moment of rest.

Jolyne found a few bags of potato chips; he hadn't eaten anything yet and was quite hungry.

The cloying sweetness spread through Jolyne's mouth, his brows furrowed, and he examined the packaging with disbelief.

"Chocolate flavor?"

"The first time I tasted food from another world, I felt malice."

Jolyne handed the package of heretical teachings to Professor Jukawa.

Having just experienced various bloody scenes, and still smelling of blood, only Jolyne and Teacher Juchuan could eat and drink happily without a care in the world.

Saeko Busujima turned on the TV, which was showing a live broadcast by a reporter.

"The number of victims in Saitama Prefecture has exceeded 10,000, and the governor of Saitama Prefecture will issue a declaration of an unusual situation..."

Zombies were mixed in with the chaotic crowd, and some police officers with guns were suppressing them. A reporter was describing the situation at the scene.

"boom!"

A sudden gunshot threw the reporters into a panic.

"Ah, they fired!"

"The police have finally started shooting. What are they shooting at?"

"Ah! What is this! Ah!"

The reporter screamed, the camera fell to the ground, the image flickered violently, and the live broadcast was abruptly cut off.

"Truly dedicated."

Jolyne was somewhat amazed that even in the apocalypse, he was still willing to serve as a frontline worker. It seemed that the government was not completely paralyzed yet, but it was powerless to help the local areas. It was likely that the apocalypse had occurred all over the world.

The atmosphere was somewhat heavy. Shizuka Marikawa puffed out her cheeks and said, "Well, maybe after a while the zombies outside will just rot away and turn into skeletons that can't move."

"How long will it take?" Saeko Busujima asked.

"Um, let me think."

Shizuka Marikawa pondered and said, "In summer, it will probably rot in about 10 days, while in winter it may take more than a month."

"But a corpse can come back to life and bite people. That's beyond the realm of science, isn't it? Will it really decompose?"

Said pink-haired Saya Takagi.

She had previously used a chainsaw to cut a zombie to pieces at close range, and had been in a daze ever since, only now recovering a little.

The air fell silent again, broken only by the crunching sound of Shizuka Marikawa eating potato chips.

"We go home!"

After a moment, Komuro Takashi stood up and addressed the crowd.

"Gather those who are still alive and go back along the way to find their families."

The setting sun shone through the window and fell on him, making him look like a gentle and kind anime protagonist. Even the brown-haired Rei Miyamoto looked at him with a slightly drooling gaze.

"let's go!"

Takashi Komuro showed a determined expression, and the others also stood up, seemingly to respond to the call.

"I didn't intend to go with you."

If Jolyne is to act alongside them, he must take leadership; he cannot accept orders from others.

However, the protagonist, Komuro Takashi, is at least a classmate of the others. Given his status, it is unlikely that he could gain leadership through normal means in just seven days. If he were to use violence, Jolyne would have no interest in leading a group of people with grudges on an adventure in the apocalypse.

As we all know, people are more dangerous than zombies in the apocalypse.

"It would be very dangerous for one person to be alone in the apocalypse. It would be better for us to work together to survive," Komuro Takashi reminded Jolyne.

"It's okay, I can live just fine on my own," Jolyne said nonchalantly.

Seeing this, Komuro Takashi stopped talking. He didn't really want Jolyne, whose identity was questionable, to stay in the group. He was only trying to persuade her because someone had already refused since he had just proposed the group. He was afraid that others might have other ideas.

Jolyne didn't bother to guess what Takashi Komuro was thinking, and looked at Shizuka Marikawa to ask, "Are you going with them?"

Helping her find a team was a way of repaying the kindness of saving her. If Ms. Juchuan wanted to follow them, Jolyne would have to say goodbye to her.

"Eh."

Shizuka Marikawa was surprised to find herself having to make a choice. Her golden eyes were filled with confusion, but she finally made up her mind and grabbed Jolyne's arm.

"If I leave, no one will change Jolyne's dressing."

"Mr. Ju Chuan, how could Xu Lun possibly protect you?"

"And he doesn't look like a good person at all."

Komuro Takashi urged him urgently, even revealing his true feelings: in the apocalypse, doctors are strategic resources.

"Hey, but I believe in Jolyne."

Shizuka Marikawa is kind of naive.

"But."

Takashi Komuro wanted to say something more.

"All right."

Jolyne interrupted Takashi Komuro and turned to Shizuka Marikawa, saying, "Go find a car key first, a big one, but not too big."

Jolyne was suddenly touched by Shizuka Marikawa's directness. This girl was actually worried about his injuries, although she felt that she was just naturally naive and didn't think about anything else, doing whatever came to mind.

With Shizuka Marikawa around, he at least doesn't have to consider the feasibility of driving with one hand.

"As for you."

Jolyne coldly walked towards Takashi Komuro, her imposing body forcing him to retreat continuously.

"You, what do you want to do!"

Komuro Takashi trembled slightly, leaned against the window, steeled his resolve, and swung the baseball bat at Jolyne.

Jolyne easily gripped the baseball bat in one hand, and no matter how hard Komuro tried, he couldn't move it. Jolyne then casually pulled the bat away and threw it on the ground. With one hand, Jolyne grabbed Komuro by the neck and lifted him up.
