Komuro Takashi tried to pry open Jolyne's steel-like fingers with both hands, his legs thrashing and his face flushed.
"Let him go!"
Rei Miyamoto raised her spear and aimed it at Jolyne, but Jolyne's legs went weak at the mere glance she gave him, leaving her unable to move forward or backward, too afraid to advance.
The chubby boy Hirano Toda and the pink-haired girl Takagi Saya were also scared. They weren't very familiar with Komuro Takashi, so they didn't even dare to speak up to stop him.
Will you have the protagonist's halo to protect you?
Jolyne then asked Komuro Takashi, but unfortunately, he was being held by the neck with one hand by Jolyne and could not breathe. His body had begun to convulse, and his face had turned purple. It seemed that he could not answer the question.
"Jolyne, fighting is wrong." Shizuka Marikawa observed the situation with confusion, not understanding how the argument had suddenly broken out, and pretended to be angry as she tried to dissuade Jolyne.
Jolyne remained expressionless, and before Komuro Takashi's drool could drip onto her hands, she threw him away. Even if she wanted to kill him, there was no need to do it now; it would lower her favorability rating.
"Cough cough!"
Komuro Takashi, who had collapsed to the ground, was breathing heavily and coughing in pain. At that moment, Miyamoto Rei rushed over to check on Komuro Takashi's condition.
"Boring."
Seeing that he had no intention of getting up to fight again, Jolyne picked up the baseball bat from the ground, swung it around, and did so quite easily.
New weapon, got it!

"Let's go, Mr. Juchuan."
Shizuka Marikawa found the key, and Jolyne naturally didn't want to stay there any longer. The man named Rei Miyamoto looked at her with hostility, as if she had done something terribly wrong.
Saeko Busujima witnessed all of this, watching the assembled group separate again. After hesitating for a moment, she glanced at Takashi Komuro, who was still panting heavily, and finally followed Jolyne.
She comes from a family of swordsmen and believes even more in the power of force.
"Wait for me, Jolyne."
With the school doctor and the brute force gone, and having completely lost face in front of Rei Miyamoto, Takashi Komuro glared angrily at Jolyne's retreating figure, but the pain in his body prevented him from getting up.
Chapter 6 Darwin's Research Workshop
"You're planning to come with me too?"
Jolyne was somewhat puzzled. Given his violent behavior, a normal person should be afraid, just like that fat guy and the pink-haired guy who didn't dare to follow him at all.
"Xu Lun's performance just now was quite domineering."
Saeko Busujima said with a smile.
"It's just like the invincible swordsman in samurai legends who would fight to the death for a woman."
"For a woman?"
Jolyne glanced at Shizuka Marikawa with a hint of helplessness. This girl didn't seem to realize what had just happened and seemed quite carefree and happy.
"I'm just a little annoyed."
It's understandable that he doesn't want the school doctor to leave, but he shouldn't do it by belittling Jolyne. Especially since Jolyne has just been inexplicably dragged into trouble and is in a terrible mood, he doesn't want to waste words with him; taking action directly would save a lot of trouble.
The car key that Shizuka Marikawa chose was for an SUV. According to her, it belonged to a physical education teacher, and Jolyne had obtained the teacher's permission, since he was the one who smashed her skull.
The commotion was still ongoing, so they ignored it and Jolyne sat in the back seat while Shizuka Marikawa drove, speeding out of the campus.
"It's getting dark. To prevent the zombies from mutating at night, let's find a place to rest first."
Jolyne had to be careful around night, since he remembered that many zombies were enhanced in combat at night, and he was really hungry.
"Let's go to the detached houses over there. The population density is lower, and housewives will stock up on some food."
Saeko Busujima suggested.
Shizuka Marikawa naturally obeyed, but the road conditions were terrible, with hordes of corpses and car accident scenes everywhere, which greatly hindered driving. In some situations, even off-road vehicles had to take detours.
After crushing over zombies, they finally found a suitable spot before nightfall. The courtyard wall was nearly two meters high, and as long as they didn't make too much noise, the zombies generally wouldn't dare to break in.
There was plenty of food in the refrigerator, so Saeko Busujima took on the responsibility of cooking.
"Xu Lun, go and rest first. You look very tired. You can leave the cooking to me without worry."
Jolyne found a room, lay down inside, and finally had time to look at the pendant on her chest.
This is a matte gray cube with sides of two centimeters, inside which is carved a curly-haired baboon squatting and scratching its head.
Jolyne had studied it many times before, but it never reacted and she didn't know what it was made of. However, after killing the chameleon, it suddenly reacted and even absorbed the chameleon's corpse.
As his consciousness sank in, the scene before Jolyne's eyes had changed.
"This is... the interior space?"
This is a room of about 500 square meters, dimly lit, with walls covered with all sorts of strange graffiti.
Judging from their appearance, they seem to be various curly-haired baboon emoji packs?
Jolyne's body floated in the air; he was currently in a spirit form, but he felt as if he could pull his external body in as well.
But he didn't do that; he wanted to see what was going on in this space first.
I don't know if it's just my imagination, but Jolyne always felt that things here had a somewhat humorous and absurd feel to them.
For example, the floor of this room is painted with starry sky patterns, while the dome is painted completely black.
Soon, Jolyne was drawn to a huge device, which was located on the right side of the room, occupying about a third of the space and was the most conspicuous.
The entire structure is steel-black, and the device is covered with various Victorian-style metal pipes and futuristic photoelectric interfaces, which finally converge in several glass chambers.
"It feels like a device that would only appear in some kind of evil human experimentation in a movie."
Jolyne looked at the glass capsules and thought to herself, "Luckily there are no people inside, otherwise it would look even more like one."
"This workshop is a legitimate workshop registered with the Baboon Empire and is protected by the sacred Baboon Law. Please do not slander the workshop."
A mechanical voice came from behind him, and he noticed that a banana had appeared behind him at some point.
That's right, a flying banana with a strange single eye.
"Who are you? And where is this place?" Jolyne asked curiously.
"I am an apprentice assistant at Darwin's workshop."
"This is the Darwin Research Workshop."
"Hey curly-haired baboon, your hair loss problem seems a bit serious. I suggest you take care of it regularly."
The banana was rambling on and on, its mechanical voice a bit halting, as if it hadn't spoken in a long time.
"I am not a curly-haired baboon, and I don't have any hair that needs maintenance."
Jolyne gave a somewhat speechless reply.
Then he asked the banana, "Have you seen a chameleon? It was all green. That was my prize, but it got sucked away here."
There are no chameleons in the workshop.
The banana answered with a mechanical voice, then flew towards Jolyne, circling around her as if observing something.
"Please don't be afraid of doctors, my workshop has extensive experience in treating hair loss."
"I already said I'm not a curly-haired baboon."
The room wasn't large, and Jolyne quickly found her target: the chameleon's carcass was lying on a pristine white operating table.
"This is a chameleon! How dare you lie to me and say there isn't one?" Jolyne questioned the banana, somewhat speechless.
"But this is a gecko," Banana Mechanical replied.
"Somewhat intelligent, but not much."
Jolyne confirmed the banana's species, even though he had mistaken it for the wrong species. But how could a talking banana be so inflexible? It seems less intelligent than the one lying down.
"I am the workshop assistant personally developed by the great Darwin, please do not insult my intelligence."
"Aren't you an intern assistant?"
Jolyne was wondering what was going on here. The necklace he had worn for seventeen years turned out to be a workshop, owned by a curly-haired baboon named Darwin.
"You, you, I'm not going to treat your hair loss anymore."
The banana's mechanical noise was slightly chaotic; perhaps that was its way of expressing anger.
"A threat that has no deterrent effect whatsoever."
He wasn't actually removing hair; this threat made him want to laugh.
How were you discovered?
"According to Mr. Darwin, I am a hybrid of banana and machine," the banana replied straightforwardly.
"Bananas and machines hybridized?"
Jolyne looked at the banana with a strange expression.
"No wonder you're an artificially disabled person."
"You wouldn't happen to be an accidental product, would you? Like that curly-haired baboon named Darwin who wanted to research some kind of infinite bananas or something."
Upon hearing Jolyne's words, the bananas seemed to sink a little, making Jolyne wonder if she had been right.
"Banana, since you say this is Darwin's workshop, where is Darwin?"
"I do not know."
"Can I take control of this workshop?"
Jolyne looked around curiously and asked, "There's even some advanced technology that combines bananas and machinery. This place must have a lot of uses, right? If all else fails, it can even be used as a storage space."
"To become the owner of the workshop, you must master its core. Only a purebred curly-haired baboon recognized by Darwin can do that. You look a bit like a hybrid."
Banana replied to Jolyne, adding, "And hair removal too."
It clearly still holds a grudge.
Where is the core of the workshop?
Although he wasn't a curly-haired baboon and didn't know anything about Darwin, the workshop had been on him for so long, he had to give it a try. Maybe it would work, just like in the novels of his past life.
Banana led him to a small room, which looked like a bedroom. Inside, there was only a bed, a table, and a bookshelf. There was only one book on the bookshelf.
Jolyne took it down, wiped the dust off its surface, and confirmed that his soul could now interact with matter here, though he didn't know why.
Darwin's Research Workshop
This is the name of the book, and the cover features a curly-haired baboon squatting and scratching its head, exactly like its pendant.
"By the way, who is this curly-haired baboon? Why are there pictures of him everywhere?"
Jolyne asked about bananas.
"This is what the great Mr. Darwin looked like."
"Then it's probably a bit narcissistic."
Jolyne thought of the entire wall of emojis outside.
"Mr. Darwin was greater than anyone else..."
The banana kept muttering to itself.
Jolyne stopped listening and opened the book without much effort, making Banana's eyes widen.
The first page of the book reads:
I am studying evolution, not blaspheming life.
Chapter 7 is invisible, but not completely invisible.
"Got a story?"
Jolyne raised an eyebrow and turned to the next page.
Young curly-haired baboon, when you open this book, it means you will inherit my workshop.
