Rivendell's geographical location marks the eastern-western dividing line of Middle-earth.

Further east, the probability of encountering danger increases dramatically.

Moreover, deep within the Moria mines, there dwells a Yama whose power rivals that of the Maya. Hopefully, the dwarves did not disturb it when they passed by.

"Here, have some hot soup~" During the break, Mike took out cooking utensils and ingredients from his private space and quickly made a pot of meat soup.

Seeing the wizard eating dry rations, he ladled out a bowl and handed it to him.

“If you ask me, resisting the forces of darkness is the inevitable trend. Even without the dwarves, there will be others to stop the dark creatures of Mordor from invading Middle-earth…” After eating a hot meal, Mike couldn’t help but persuade the wizard.

The other person is just too responsible, which is why they always end up in such a mess.

“Resisting the forces of darkness is a matter for all of us, including the dwarves, of course…” Gandalf did not think there was anything wrong with helping the dwarves reclaim Lonely Mountain Pass.

This is probably due to his personality; he is a very responsible person who will not give up his principles just because of a few words of advice from others.

After quickly finishing his broth, Gandalf went to the mixed-breed horses and took out a handful of beans to feed them.

Clearly, he is preparing for another trip.

Seeing the other person's expression, Mike shook his head and didn't say anything more.

The next morning, Gandalf, who had traveled all night, looked at the gray sky and stopped, saying, "Judging from the weather, there's probably going to be a downpour soon. Besides, we're not far from Moria, so we should be able to catch up with Thorin and the others soon."

"So, I plan to wait until the rainstorm subsides before continuing my journey."

Mike naturally had no objections.

So the two found a hillside sheltered by rocks and prepared to rest for a while.

Not long after, as Mike lit the campfire, the sky outside suddenly darkened, followed by a fierce wind and thunder and lightning in the dark clouds.

A torrential downpour followed immediately...

"I wonder if the adventure party has found shelter from the rain in this weather. And Bilbo, without me watching over him, I wonder if he's taking care of himself..." Gandalf worried again as he looked at the torrential rain outside.

Thorin may be a competent leader, but he is by no means someone who cares about the feelings of others.

This is evident from the fact that the Hobbits were never able to integrate into the dwarf group.

"Good people are always blessed. There's no use worrying about it." Mike found a comfortable spot to sit down and began preparing breakfast for the two of them.

Even now, he still can't understand why, with so many powerful figures on the side of justice in Middle-earth, Gandalf alone has made himself a life of toil.

Of course: I don't understand, but I respect it!!!

Just as Mike was preparing breakfast, a huge tremor suddenly came from the ground beneath his feet, a scene comparable to a magnitude 10 earthquake.

"Looks like we won't be getting breakfast." Looking at the scattered mess, Mike simply put the food back into his spatial storage.

“They are rock giants, not far from Moria. I hope Thorin and the others haven’t been affected…” Gandalf stared at the two rock giants, each over a hundred feet tall, in the distant valley, a look of shock on his face.

The rock giant is a natural creature that appears in the wild on rainy days, representing the power of nature.

They have no sense of good or evil, nor any ulterior motive, but each appearance is accompanied by landslides and earthquakes.

“Those two rock giants seem to be fighting over a body…” Gandalf seemed to have discovered something else.

Amidst thunder and lightning and torrential rain, two rock giants were instinctively fighting each other in a distant valley.

Although the movements are slow, the power is immense.

Each of these primal clashes would send boulders flying and the earth trembling. The falling rocks would then be drawn to the rock giant of the dominant side.

Thus, as the two rock giants, each a hundred feet tall, began to show a difference in size during the battle.

One creature gradually shrank in size, while the other began to swell, eventually reaching a height of two hundred feet, even surpassing the surrounding mountains.

Just as the battle was about to end due to the vast difference in strength, a third rock giant suddenly rose up at the bottom of the valley.

This last rock giant, having absorbed the rocks dropped during the battle between the two previous giants, was over two hundred feet tall when it appeared.

Then, the one-on-one fight between the two "people" in the valley turned into a three-way melee.

“Their battle has spread to Moria, I must go and see…” As the battle between the rock giants escalated and the battlefield expanded, Gandalf’s expression gradually became serious.

Just as he had guessed, if the dwarven adventure team's journey had not been delayed, they should be right near the Moria Mines right now.

The sudden uprising of the rock giants was not good news for the adventure party or Gandalf.

“Let’s go take a look. Anyway, this downpour will stop soon.” Mike agreed to the wizard’s suggestion. He also wanted to get closer and see what kind of light the rock giant could produce.

Furthermore, this sudden downpour was more like a thunderstorm, coming and going quickly.

When the two walked out of the place where they had taken shelter from the rain, the sky had gradually cleared up.

"This way~" Mike, who had obtained the power of the Water Ring from the Elf Princess, raised a vacuum umbrella in the rain. After determining the direction, he called the wizard and they ran towards the Moria Mine along the gravel path.

[Heart of the Earth (Trait)] x3... [Earth Energy*+1000w] x3...

[Natural Might (Trait)] x3...

As Mike and his companion arrived outside the Moria mine, the sudden storm in the sky stopped.

As the storm passed, the three rock giants that had been fighting in the valley gradually calmed down.

If the previous scene hadn't been so vivid in everyone's mind, anyone who saw those three intertwined rock piles in the valley would have assumed they were a naturally formed rocky mountain range.

"Not bad haul. The abilities of these three rock giants are somewhat similar to those of the Earth Demon, Earth Demon..." Mike silently calculated in his mind as he obtained another large wave of attribute orbs.

The power boost from the special energy orbs no longer significantly enhances his strength. Therefore, Mike now prioritizes increasing his energy levels to advance his life level.

The total energy gained during this period has filled nearly one-tenth of Mike's energy bar, who has reached Mythic Level 9.

The future looks promising.

“My fears have come true. Thorin and the others must have been in the battle zone of the rock giants…” Meanwhile, Gandalf, concerned for the safety of the dwarves, found their weapons among the rubble. “It’s all my fault. If I had set off sooner, perhaps the dwarves wouldn’t have suffered this calamity.”

The wizard felt guilty at the thought that the dwarves might have been caught in the crossfire during the battle with the rock giants.

"It's too early to talk about this now. If we want to know what happened to Bilbo and the others, we should at least find them first," Mike reminded the wizard. Now is not the time to assign blame.

“You’re right, our most urgent task right now is to find them.” Gandalf, having calmed down, returned to his reliable self.

He then followed the trail left by the adventure team and found a cave.

“I recognize this blanket; it’s what Thorin and the others used when they rested… It seems they were lucky; they must have avoided the main battlefield of the rock giants and arrived here. Then, for some reason, they fell into the deep pit below…” After studying the scene inside the cave, Gandalf’s gaze fell on the large pit that had been artificially carved into the ground.

It must be said that the wizard was very clever; he was able to guess the whereabouts of the adventure team almost entirely based on the traces left on the ground.

“Let’s go down and take a look. I just hope they haven’t encountered that monster deep in the mine.” The situation was still not optimistic. Gandalf said, and began to climb into the large pit below the ground.

"No need for all that trouble~" Mike condensed a ball of faith power and threw it onto the wizard, making him float up and fly down into the pit with him.

Here we must mention the wizards of Middle-earth. Although they possessed demigod bodies and various strange abilities, they lacked the ability to fly.

Every time I go out, I have to travel like an ascetic.

Mike had reason to suspect that Ilúvatar was intentionally limiting the abilities of the Maiars for the sake of his own "Grand Symphony".

"The great Goblin King..."

The invincible goblin king...

The omnipotent king of goblins...

"Hail to the Goblin King!"

"..."

Meanwhile, in the Moria mines, the goblins who had captured the dwarves were loudly singing praises to their goblin king.

The rhythm is very upbeat!

On the high platform, a fat goblin wearing a crown and nearly three meters tall was clapping for his minions with comical gestures.

Goblins are actually the same species as goblins, but they are called goblins in the forest and goblins when they hide in underground caves.

Apart from the tall and fat Goblin King, the other goblins in the Moria mines were generally around one meter tall and all very thin.

Perhaps because they spend so much time underground, their skin tends to be pale.

This makes them look even more disgusting than the green goblins in the forest.

Thorin and his companions are now surrounded by this group of ugly creatures.

“There are too many goblins here. We need to make some noise to attract their attention so that Thorin and the others can escape.” After analyzing the situation, Gandalf raised his wand and struck a boulder beside him.

The boulder exploded into many small stones, which then rained down on the goblins below.

At the same time, Gandalf also cast a spell of illumination, which shone straight down to the bottom of the mine like a flashlight.

Compared to goblins who fear sunlight deep in the forest, gnomes who hide underground for years are much more sensitive to light.

The fallen boulders caught the goblins' attention, but when they looked up, they were blinded by the wizard's illumination spell.

“A good opportunity…it’s Gandalf…he’s come to save us…”

While the goblins were under the influence of the bright light, the dwarves surrounded by them exchanged glances, then rushed to the ground to pick up their confiscated weapons and helped each other cut the ropes binding them.

This process was incredibly smooth and seamless.

By the time the local savages realized what was happening, the dwarves had already begun their breakout.

"Come here!" Gandalf pointed the way for the dwarves from above.

There are at least tens of thousands of goblins in the mine below, and escaping from them would be extremely difficult, making it an almost impossible task for the dwarf team.

But every cloud has a silver lining. Because of the mining, many wooden ladders were built on the stone walls of the Moria Mine.

This gave the dwarves a chance to escape.

The dwarf team, having formed a battle formation, quickly fought their way through and then fled upwards along the wooden ladder.

On the other side, Gandalf also went down to meet the dwarves.

For a time, it was actually quite possible for them to succeed.

"Charge! Cut off their heads! I want to use their heads to exchange for bounties with the Demon Lord..." the goblin king on the high platform shouted greedily.

With the resurgence of the Dark Lord Sauron, he began to unite the dark creatures throughout Middle-earth. Although the goblins were not particularly powerful, they were also among the Dark Lord's conquests.

"Quick, Mike, help me!"

As the saying goes, "Many ants can kill an elephant," and with the goblin king's command, tens of thousands of goblins climbed onto the ladder.

They were already extremely familiar with the mine, and quickly used sheer numbers to block the wizard and dwarf team's path.

So much so that Gandalf had to ask Mike above for help.

"Leave it to me!!!"

Having watched the show long enough, Mike gave an OK sign, then leaped down, summoning the Flame Sword midway.

Then, a massive fiery sword aura shot out, splitting the goblin king on the platform and the platform itself in two.

Amidst the splattering debris and blood, the goblin king didn't even have time to scream before his body fell to either side in a balanced fashion.

Subsequently, the platform collapsed amidst the flames.

Chapter 604 Enma and the Pale Beast

The enormous noise and violent scene instantly brought the Moria Mine to a standstill.

The goblins had never imagined that their powerful king would be killed so easily by humans; fear and confusion flickered in their eyes.

The dwarves were amazed by Mike's strength:

"No one ever told me that humans could possess this kind of energy..."

"Does this count as Mike saving us again...?"

"..."

The dwarves on the scaffold looked at Mike with a mixture of admiration and the joy of surviving a disaster.

Only Thorin had a furrowed brow and a solemn expression.

He realized that this human really did have the ability to steal the treasure of Lonely Mountain.

"What are you standing there for? Get down here right now!!!" Mike shouted at the dwarves who were staring blankly on the scaffold.

With absolute strength as a guarantee, it is obviously much easier to escape through the main entrance of the mine than through the small path above.

So, at Mike's shout, Gandalf led the dwarves down the slope of the climbing frame.
