"Fight! Fight, warriors of the Union!"
The consortium's broadcasts continued to ring out from inside the passageway.
Mortarian watched as the mortals, incited by the chaos, picked up various weapons and tried to halt the Death Guard's advance. The mortals surged forward, and Mortarian could tell that these enraged mortals had clearly been brainwashed by the Covenant, not by chemical substances, but more like by psionic energy.
Mortarian lowered his eyes and began to run forward, his demigod body tirelessly wielding his scythe. Time had taught him that even if he retreated to these foolish mortals now, they would not listen to his advice.
Since that was the case, Mortarian drew his scythe, and green light danced continuously in the air as he stepped onto the street, behind him a horrific scene of piled-up corpses.
Soon Mortarian found himself separated from the shroud of death. As the ground began to hum, he looked into the distance and saw a line of dozens of tanks. Mortarian sneered and swung his scythe. Just as he took a step forward, he felt his body become unusually heavy. In the instant his knees bent, the scythe was driven directly into the ground.
These bastards actually wanted an Imperial demigod to kneel down with his noble body. Mortarian saw it and saw several technicians in the distance fiddling with a small machine on a tank, which seemed to be some kind of gravity device.
Mortarian lowered his eyes, staring at the dark, gaping cannon fire aimed at him.
There were no allied forces appearing out of nowhere, nor any scenes of loyal offspring protecting the advance; the tanks opened fire directly, and the dust from the explosions of dozens of shells engulfed Mortarion.
Smoke filled the air.
Having been baptized by flames, Mortarian did not step into hell, but into his own home!
What the consortium never expected was this!
Mortarian burst out of the smoke. Their gravity devices seemed to have malfunctioned; the powerful gravity struck Mortarian without having any effect.
Mortarian swung his scythe, slicing a huge gash through a tank. He then leaped onto another tank. Only then did the Death Shrouds arrive, immediately raising their bolters to draw fire for Mortarian.
Several tanks hurled their shells, and Mortarian watched helplessly as one of his offspring was half-buried by the shells.
Anger flared.
Enraged, the Imperial demigod cleaved the tank in two and seized the crew inside.
They were crushed to death one by one.
Once he calmed down, Mortarian turned around and kicked a tank away.
The roar of the engines came to an abrupt halt; in a mere instant, Mortarian had destroyed eight Combine tanks.
As the last enemy was killed, Mortarion looked around at the smoke-filled ground and took a deep breath of Barbarus's poison gas.
"The heavy armored units of the consortium have been dismantled, and we do not know how many rebels remain in the middle ranks."
"Their failure is only a matter of time."
Mortarion spoke.
......
Charred corpses, burnt bones, and corpses strewn everywhere—this was the scene at Xiachao today. As an elevator slowly started moving, several mortal auxiliary soldiers reported on the situation while beginning to clear away the bodies.
As several Death Guards approached, the mortal support troops saluted them.
The Death Guards ignored the guys' manners, walked straight up to the elevator, and pressed the button in front of everyone.
As the elevator slowly ascended, the mortal auxiliary soldiers finally raised their heads.
"Sometimes I really wonder if they're even human!"
One of the mortal auxiliary soldiers spoke up.
"Shut up, or they might come back and hang you up."
"One of the sergeants complained."
As the mortal auxiliary soldiers silently continued their work, they seemed to hear a sound, a buzzing roar, or perhaps a scream and a roar.
Just as they were trying to find the source of the sound, they heard a huge rumble, and an Imperial angel fell directly from the elevator shaft. His helmet, mixed with blood, rolled down to the feet of the mortal auxiliary soldiers, and his upper body was crushed by something.
Just as they were in shock.
The other six bodies fell directly from the elevator and were torn to pieces.
"Go and report! Report to Prince Mortarion that we might be in trouble!"
The sergeant roared. Four
But it was too late.
As the elevator roared to life, the aura of death filled the air. At that moment, the sergeant finally understood why the Alliance had built the elevator to be so enormous.
He gazed at the creation, and without the slightest hesitation, he raised the laser gun in his hand.
"For the Emperor!"
These were his last words.
P.S.: Fourth update. I went out for a bit... emmmm, oh dear~
Volume 1: Chapter 158 This is the Death Guard!
A rumbling sound came from the earth.
In the Death Guard's Seventh Company, Company Commander Tersus's breathing tube trembled slightly at its external interface. Garo stood beside him as the future Seventh Company Commander watched the soldiers of the War Hounds' Seventh Echelon rapidly move through the buildings alongside them.
This is very Deathguard.
Tersus clearly noticed that Erlen and the others were learning Death Guard tactics, and he silently watched his cousins.
"For a moment, I felt like I saw ourselves."
"That's what Tessus said in the communications."
"Company Commander Tess, a squad at the front has lost contact."
Galo did not respond directly.
"His Highness Mortarion has ordered the Seventh Company to conduct reconnaissance."
"Should we bring the war hounds?"
After hesitating for a moment, Galo spoke.
“We’re going together; we want our cousins to know what true resilience is.”
After saying this, Tessus ordered the soldiers of the company to advance.
In the distance, Ellron is leading Oedipus to inspect the aliens and humans of Death VI on the ground. lin▲⌒!≠8`∩→℃
The accompanying think tank member astutely noticed that these humans had been implanted with seeds of psychic energy in their brains. Slightly puzzled, the think tank member attempted to touch them with his mental power and sensed life...
"Company Commander Erlen!"
The think tank roared.
"What Tivas has been discovered!"
Erlen walked over and looked at Tivas, who was bent over with the apothecary.
"These aliens are using human bodies to reproduce their offspring; these aliens are completely infertile."
Tivas told Erlen about his findings, which made Erlen uneasy. If the aliens were trying to reproduce using human bodies, then how many people were there in the entire hive?
How many people are there in the entire Galliparas!
Empires are meant to be conquered, not destroyed. Erlen could already foresee the future of this civilization: destruction.
"Is no one immune?"
"Erren asked."
"I don't know their breeding system, but I have found the reason why these humans are so fanatical, and perhaps only this world can explain it."
Tivas thought for a moment, then pointed to the pile of corpses in the distance.
"Most of them are there, but I haven't found a small portion. However, these things are very well hidden, and it would be very difficult to find them all."
Tivas then recounted all his discoveries.
"Oedipus relayed the information from the Chief Think Tank to the Death Guardians."
Erlen gave his orders, and as the orders were given, Oedipus turned and left, crouching down to look at the warrior who had died for his world.
madness.
Another team of Death Guards went missing, and Terus was slightly alarmed. He kept checking the terminal in his hand, this time even including a Terminator veteran. Before figuring out what had been discovered ahead, he gave the order to halt.
Soon, Oedipus's intelligence made the company commander frown again.
On the wide street, after the third wave of Death Guards lost contact, Tersus finally knew he couldn't wait any longer, and he slowly exhaled.
"Tell me! Company Commander Erlen, guard our rear. We are heading to the front to see what has happened."
Right after Erlen finished speaking, he ordered the veteran Terminators in the company to accompany him, including Galo. Oedipus watched the Death Guards leave and smiled.
War hounds are not babies who need to be cared for.
"boom!"
With a deafening roar, all that could be seen was a machine roaring out from within a wall tens of meters high. Tersus stared in astonishment at the war machine—it was a Psionic Titan!
"Death Guard! Attack!"
The roar of Tessus was deafening. Odysseus, upon hearing Tessus's command, felt that Tessus had absolutely gone mad!
what? What?
attack?
Then he saw the Death Guards silently unleash their firepower on the massive machine.
The Titan kept changing its body, transforming from a Warhound-class to a Knight-class form, and it was like a nimble monkey. Countless bullets were fired at it, but everyone knew that only another Titan could deal with one Titan!
The Death Guards' formation was as fragile as paper, and even the Terminator veterans were nothing more than slightly thicker cardboard.
With a single breath, seven Death Guards met their demise.
Tessus roared that they had no heavy vehicles.
"boom!"
As a cannonball fired, Oedipus looked at Erron, who stood atop Lemanrus, and raised high the banner of the Hound of War.
'Stop this thing here! We can't let it reach Prince Mortalian!'
'Are you crazy! Heavy vehicles are like oversized toys to Titans!'
'Oedipus! Even toys can cut you!'
Erlen laughed.
'If I die, you will take over command.'
After saying that, Erlen closed the communication.
The molten metal cannon swept past Lemanrus, but Erlen remained expressionless, holding the banner of the War Hounds. He stood tall and unmoved, fearless!
Under the pilot's control, Leman Russ sped up along the road, and the psionic titan spotted the Warhound's armored battle group. It charged over like a vicious wolf.
Several vehicles were directly reimbursed.
Even the heavy firepower of the Imperial Space Marines could not completely stop this creation of the Old Night Era. Sacrifices were happening every moment, and past tactics were completely ineffective against this war machine.
The Death Guard and War Hounds were simply killing people. Erlen was expressionless as he watched his comrades being destroyed by the Psionic Titans, and he could only watch helplessly.
He saw the psionic titan rapidly catching up to him, and he pulled out his bolter and unleashed a torrent of bullets until he was out of ammunition, until a terrifying shadow loomed over Erron.
He took a slight breath and drew his dagger as the enormous creature extended its hand.
"For the Lord and Angron!"
Erlen roared fearlessly, waving the banner of the War Hounds. He roared madly as Lemanrus fired the last cannonball from the barrel, the huge boom proclaiming the loyalty of the Imperial warriors!
Bang!
With the first breath, a green figure appeared in front of Erlen.
With the second breath, the figure of the Imperial demigod appeared in Erron's eyes.
With the third breath, a crimson color appeared on Mortarian's pale face.
With his fourth breath, the Imperial demigod kicked Lemanrus away, the steel on the vehicle twisting as he watched Erren reach safety.
On the fifth breath, Mortarian heard the sound of bones cracking in his arm.
With his sixth breath, he roared in fury as he tried to wrestle with the psionic titan.
On the seventh breath, he was knocked away and crashed into the wall.
