Smoker also went over to see what was written in the newspaper.
The moment he saw the headline, the two cigars he was holding fell to the deck with a "thud".
Hearing the commotion, Ryan also came out of the cabin.
"What's all the noise about?"
Smoker suddenly looked up, staring intently at Ryan with a complex expression that suggested he had seen a ghost.
Renn was baffled by his reaction: "Are you constipated?"
Smoker did not answer.
On the deck, all the scholars gathered around.
The front page of the newspaper featured a newly released bounty poster that occupied the entire page!
The photo shows a young man with a cold expression, against the backdrop of the towering flames of Ohara and the cleaved ice river.
That face was none other than Clark's form, wearing glasses and standing in front of Kuzan!
Below the photo are three shocking bounty offers:
Regardless of life or death
【Demon Clark】
[Bounty: 500,000,000 Berries]
"One...ten...million...ten million..."
"Five...five hundred million?!"
"Berry?!"
On the deck, the scholars let out a unified gasp of surprise.
"What...what exactly did he do?"
A scholar pointed to the small print above and said loudly:
"It says here...it was this guy named Clark...who destroyed Ohara!!"
"what?!"
"lie!!"
The scholars were instantly enraged, "It's clearly the Navy! It's the World Government!!"
Dr. Clover took the newspaper with trembling hands. He saw the photo clearly and the small print below it.
"Demon Clark...clashed with CP agents in Ohara...and..."
The doctor's voice was trembling:
"...and...defeated...Vice Admiral Kuzan..."
Rennes: (?°д°)
"I...I only used the perfect disguise once."
"Just like that, this pretty young woman became a wanted criminal with a 5 million bounty?!"
Smoker remained silent on the other side.
He stared intently at the wanted poster, his gaze darting back and forth between Ryan's face and the photograph in the newspaper.
He remembered it clearly. Three days ago, when he and Rosinandi were escorting the scholars from O'Hara to the port, he saw with his own eyes as Ryan turned around that Ryan pulled a pair of identical glasses out of his pocket!
Testimonials
Hello everyone, I am the author of this book.
First of all, thank you to everyone who has supported me all the way here. Every collection, every monthly ticket, every recommendation ticket, and every comment you have given is the motivation for me to keep creating.
This book will be officially available on the shelves at midnight tonight (24:0).
This is my first book on Qidian, and it's also a book I have high hopes for.
The initial inspiration for writing this book stemmed from my feelings after finishing the Kuma arc. On one hand, I marveled at how "Oda is still the same Oda," and on the other hand, I felt saddened by Kuma's tragic fate. So, I had a sudden thought: what would it be like if someone could go back 20 years to where the main storyline began and change those predetermined tragedies?
I spent a month preparing the outline for this idea, confirming various timelines and details (after all, it's a story from 20 years ago, and many things need to be carefully researched).
And so, there was Raine, and there was that gunshot in Loguetown.
Returning to the book itself, I have seen the criticisms and suggestions raised in the comments section, such as the problematic plot points in the early stages and the misuse of points. I have read every comment carefully and will humbly accept them. I have also tried my best to go back and revise some of the parts that readers felt were unreasonable. Hopefully, it's not too late to mend things.
As for myself, although I wrote some things on other websites before (and made a little money, but now it seems more like a dark history, so let's not talk about it), I am still a complete newbie on Qidian.
Here, I would like to express my special thanks to my editor, Fubuki.
At the time, this book was in a state of anxiety, waiting for its release. The moment it was picked up by the author, Chuixue, the feeling was no less than when Lu Mingfei was redeemed by Nuonuo in the movie theater. Without Chuixue's appreciation, this book would not be where it is today.
Speaking of myself, I have to admit that at my age, my energy is definitely not as good as that of younger people. Seeing everyone in the author group easily writing 10,000 or 8,000 words a day, while I struggle to write even 4000 words a day, I really feel a bit overwhelmed. The drafts I wrote during the month-long preparation period were almost all used up during my recent illness and writer's block.
However! Although my typing speed is slow, my attitude must be right! To prepare for the release, I've been frantically writing during the day while working. I expect to have 5 chapters saved up by midnight tonight, which I'll release all at once after the book goes live! And I'll make sure to write the regular Friday morning 8 AM update, even if it means staying up all night! So, on the first day of release (Friday), I guarantee at least 7 chapters!
As for more bonus chapters, yes! Although I know I'm just a nobody, I still have to have dreams, just in case things go well.
1. One extra chapter for every 100 average subscriptions!
2. One extra chapter for every 10000 points of donations!
(P.S.: Because I write part-time, my typing speed is limited, so I may not be able to deliver all of these extra chapters on Friday. But I promise that even if I have to give up all my weekend entertainment, I will definitely make up for the missed chapters!)
This is my first time writing a launch message, and I feel like I have so much to say, but I'm also afraid of being too verbose and wasting everyone's time. After some editing and rewriting, I think I should focus my energy on the main text.
Lastly, I sincerely request that all readers, if you have the time and energy, please subscribe to support me! It means a lot to me! I will strive to repay your support with even better content!

Chapter 70 The Grand Line
The ship sailed smoothly in the Western Sea.
Everything seemed so peaceful.
Ryan was alone in the captain's cabin, studying the huge nautical chart.
"boom!"
The door to the captain's cabin was violently pushed open.
Smoker walked in with a gloomy face, closed the door behind him, and walked straight to Renn without saying a word. He slammed the crumpled newspaper in his hand onto the nautical chart.
It was that $500 million bounty on "Devil Clark".
Ryan looked up, glanced at Smoker, and then at the bespectacled face in the newspaper.
He feigned surprise and said, "Oh?"
"What's wrong, Smoker? You're also interested in this Clark? A bounty of five hundred million, he's definitely a big shot."
Smoker didn't say a word.
He stared intently at Ryan's face, his eyes filled with shock, anger, and a sense of regret that I should have expected.
Ryan felt a little uneasy under his gaze, but he remained calm on the surface.
The two men faced off in the cramped captain's cabin for a full half minute.
Finally, Renn broke the silence.
He didn't look at Smoker, but instead stared down at the wanted poster, as if talking to himself:
"However, now it's easier to explain if we go back."
Smoker's eyebrows shot up sharply.
Rein continued slowly, "After all, we two naval recruits were knocked unconscious and disappeared in Ohara by 'Devil Clark,' who had a bounty of 500 million and had defeated Vice Admiral Kuzan."
He looked up and gave Smoker a knowing smile:
"...To survive a monster like that is incredibly lucky... isn't it?"
Smoker's chest heaved violently.
He understood.
This guy has even come up with an excuse!
Smoker snatched the newspaper from him and turned to leave.
"Humph."
A cold snort escaped his lips through clenched teeth. He opened the door, slammed it shut, and stormed out.
Renn looked at the swaying door and smiled.
"This guy has finally completely boarded the pirate ship."
...
A few days later, the ship arrived at its last stop before Reverse Mountain – “Zhongming Town”.
This is an extremely prosperous port town.
The dock was filled with all sorts of ships, and the air was thick with the sweet smell of rum. Everywhere you looked, there were rookie pirates, their faces beaming with excitement at the prospect of entering the Grand Line.
“Sauro, you and the scholars stay on the ship,” Raine commanded. “You’re too conspicuous; don’t go ashore.”
"Hehehe, don't worry, I've got you guys covered!"
Ryan and Smoker changed into casual clothes, put on hoods, and blended into the noisy crowd in town.
The two first found the largest trading company and directed the porters to unload barrels of fresh water, large quantities of rum, smoked meat, fruit, and medicine onto the small boat they had come from. This boat needed to support dozens of people, so the supply volume was enormous.
After working for most of the day and getting all the supplies sorted out, the two finally went into the largest nautical supplies store in town.
"Boss," Renn asked bluntly, "do you have a logbook for going to Jaya Island?"
The shop owner, a one-eyed man, glanced at Rein and said, "Huh? Jaya Island? That's an island on the Grand Line! Kid, you're in the West Blue!"
He suddenly lowered his voice and glanced warily at the door:
"The World Government strictly forbids the sale of Log Poseidons from the Grand Line across the four seas. Are you trying to kill me? Get out of here!"
Ryan and Smoker exchanged a glance and walked out of the store.
"What do we do?" Smoker frowned. "Without a pointer, we're like headless flies once we're on the Grand Line."
"Don't rush." Renn glanced around.
He pointed to a tavern across the street: "Go there and wait for me. I'll go ask around somewhere else. There'll always be a way."
Smoker nodded; he knew Ryan always had a way with things, and it would be more convenient for him to go alone.
After Smoker left, Ryan turned into an empty alley and opened the system shop.
"I remember... there seem to be permanent pointers for sale in the system shop," Renn thought to himself.
He searched for the record pointers of Jaya Island in the shop, and sure enough, there was a category for permanent pointers.
He found the permanent pointer: Jaya Island.
Description: It can permanently lock onto the magnetic direction of Jaya Island, unaffected by the chaotic magnetic field of the Grand Line, and can directly navigate to the target island.
Price: 80,000 Sin Points
"That's really outrageous..." Renn felt a pang of regret, but still chose to exchange it.
A strange object appeared out of thin air in Ryan's hand: a glass sphere fixed to the bracelet, with the pointer inside pointing firmly in one direction.
Ryan pulled down his sleeve to cover it completely.
He looked at the system store and suddenly became curious and tried searching for "Laffdru".
The system panel froze for a moment, then an option popped up:
[Permanent Pointer: Laugh Tale]
Status: Not available for exchange
[Exchange request: ??? (Insufficient information, unable to locate)]
