"Senior brother, your obsession is too deep, which is never a good thing."
"You know my obsession is too deep, Jin Chanzi, you always act so high and mighty. Seeing my humble origins, you assume I don't understand Buddhism. I've copied all the precious Buddhist scriptures for over six months, and I don't even need a single copy. Can you do that, Jin Chanzi?"
Jin Chanzi shook his head: "I haven't read as many scriptures as you, Senior Brother."
Huang Mei is also a genius in some aspects. His obsession with Buddhist scriptures is beyond the reach of ordinary people. He has a morbid obsession, as if he wants to eat the scriptures into his stomach.
In this respect, Jin Chanzi is indeed not as good as Huang Mei.
"You are not as good as me, why are you lecturing me?"
Huang Mei questioned.
Jin Chanzi said calmly, "Master also said that the Buddha in one's heart should be treated with reason..."
Jin Chanzi talked about the principles taught by Maitreya Buddha.
Huang Mei was a little furious. He retorted, "My master is old and has limited knowledge. He doesn't understand things as well as I do. He is not as knowledgeable as I am, let alone as knowledgeable about Buddhism. The way I practice is the true Mahayana Buddhist way!"
After hearing Huang Mei's disrespectful words, Jin Chanzi was speechless.
"Amitabha."
"Junior Brother, today I will prove to you the Buddha's way in my heart! Human nature is greedy! Demon nature is evil!"
After saying that, Huang Mei transformed himself into an ordinary old monk, went to a remote mountain and built a dilapidated temple.
The temple was in a dilapidated state, with no rice in the jars and no water in the wells. There was only an old monk who was so skinny from hunger that he chanted scriptures all day long.
today.
A hunter went up the mountain and saw this dilapidated temple in the distance when he came to this remote place to rest.
The hunter came there out of curiosity and saw that the well was in ruins with only the old monk inside. He wanted to borrow some water to drink but found that there was no water in the well.
"Master, the well has dried up. How do you survive?"
The old monk continued to beat the wooden fish and ignored the hunter.
Seeing that the old monk had some quirks, the hunter did not bother him. He divided his steamed buns and placed them next to the old monk. He also found a wooden bucket and went down the mountain to fill it with water and put it into the jar.
Afterwards, he bowed to the half-broken stone statue in the temple and left.
The hunter left the temple and was about to go down the mountain when he felt his feet stumble and almost fell.
Looking back, he saw the ground shining with gold. He picked it up and bit it with his teeth and found that it was one or two ounces of gold.
The hunter was overjoyed!
He turned around, kowtowed a few times towards the dilapidated temple, and went down the mountain.
The next day.
When the hunter woke up, he felt into his arms and was relieved to find the gold was still there. He then ran to the pawnshop to exchange it for silver and only then did he feel relieved.
After hiding the treasure, the hunter thought for a moment and went up the mountain again.
I found that the dilapidated temple was still there, so I kowtowed three times as soon as I entered.
The scene in the temple remained the same. No matter how I tried to talk to the old monk, he remained silent.
The hunter looked at the rice jar and found that the water he had fetched yesterday was gone. He immediately picked up the bucket and went to the foot of the mountain to fetch some spring water to fill the jar.
Before leaving, he put down a few white steamed buns.
I couldn't wait to leave the dilapidated temple.
When he left, he stumbled again. Looking back, he saw the ground was still shining with gold!
"Have you heard? The hunter at the foot of the mountain met the Bodhisattva on the mountain and got a lot of gold. Now he is rich and married a beautiful woman."
“How did you make your fortune?”
"That day, he got drunk and said a few more words at the wedding. These past few days, I've secretly followed him up the mountain..."
As soon as the chickens in the village crowed, the hunter crawled out of his warm bed.
He packed up his equipment, but it was all just a pretense. He hadn't taken care of his bowstring for a long time.
Like ** mountain just for the gold.
Before the night had completely faded, the hunter came to a remote mountain. He was overjoyed to see that the dilapidated temple was still there. Just as he was about to go forward to fetch water, he felt a gust of wind behind his head. It was too late to hide.
"I told you there's a fairy temple here!"
The man came out and said, then the two of them threw the hunter off the cliff and came to the ruined temple.
After observing for a while, seeing that the old monk didn't say anything, he imitated the hunter and went down the mountain with a bucket to fetch water.
When I came back, I felt my feet staggering as I left the dilapidated temple, and when I looked back, I saw gold.
So the man put the gold into his arms.
Seeing this, his companions became anxious, so they also tried to fetch water. However, no matter how many times they fetched, they didn't find anything when they came out of the ruined temple.
His companions consoled him: "This Bodhisattva may only appear once a day."
He calmed down, and the next day they came together. This time he asked him to fetch water, and sure enough, he found gold as soon as he went out.
The original person also tried it and found that as they guessed, the Bodhisattva only appeared once a day.
Day three.
Only one person came up to fetch water, and after getting the gold, he went down the mountain happily.
"Junior Brother, I've said that human nature is greedy. Now you've seen it with your own eyes, right?"
The old monk turned around and said.
Jin Chanzi shook his head and said nothing.
"Haha, just be stubborn and refuse to admit defeat."
Huang Mei said confidently.
The man who fetched water went up the mountain to fetch gold today as he did in the past, but he met a tiger on the way and was pounced on by the tiger and eaten as food.
The remote mountain was peaceful for a few days.
After a few days, the weather was very hot. A scholar passed by here and couldn't stand the heat, so he wanted to go to the temple to escape the heat.
When I met the old monk, I greeted him politely, but he didn't respond.
The scholar politely asked for a bowl of water.
Seeing that the old monk ignored him, the scholar went to the well and wanted to get some water to drink.
As a result, the well was dry.
The scholar glanced at the sun, then picked up the water paddle and went down the mountain to fetch water.
Only after the rice jar is filled can the scholar take a break.
Leaning against the wall, the scholar unwrapped and took out the last half of the bread. He hesitated for a moment, then looked at the old monk and asked, "Master, do you need something to eat?"
After asking three times, the old monk still remained silent.
The scholar ate the bread and drank a lot of water, and did not go down the mountain until the sun was not so strong in the afternoon.
Before leaving, the scholar bowed to the old monk again.
"Thank you for the hospitality, Master."
The scholar turned and left, and suddenly stumbled as he left.
When I looked down, I saw one or two ounces of gold.
The scholar scratched his head in confusion. He was innocent and the gold was definitely not his.
The scholar returned to the temple and asked some questions, but the old monk remained silent.
The scholar had no choice but to put the gold on the shabby incense table and cover it with a wooden board.
Then turned and left.
After leaving the ruined temple and going down the mountain, the scholar was so hungry that he felt exhausted after walking a few steps. This time he found a big tree, climbed on it and fell asleep peacefully, preparing to pick some wild fruits to satisfy his hunger at dawn.
After daybreak, the scholar felt something uncomfortable in his arms. He reached out and found that it was the one or two ounces of gold.
"Strange, did I bring it back by accident?"
Because he was so hungry and confused, the scholar was worried that he had brought the gold back accidentally, so he turned back and went to the ruined temple, put the gold back, and then prepared to leave.
When leaving, the old monk finally spoke: "Scholar, why don't you accept the gold that the Bodhisattva gave you?"
The scholar was very surprised to hear this.
"Master, you're joking. Why did the Bodhisattva reward me with gold?"
"You saw that there was no water in my temple, and you took the trouble to fetch water for me. This was a great act of kindness. The Bodhisattva saw your hard work and did not want you to be overworked, so he rewarded you with gold."
The old monk said in a hoarse voice.
The scholar smiled and said, "Master, you are joking. Although I am just a scholar, I respect Buddha in my heart and consider myself a monk. Monks are not obsessed with material things. I am just doing my duty and dare not ask for rewards from the Bodhisattva."
"I'm sorry for bothering you before. I'm leaving now."
After saying this, the scholar left. Before leaving, he searched his pockets again to feel relieved.
After the scholar came down the mountain, the old monk got angry for no reason and kicked the dilapidated temple.
"How stupid! How stupid!"
After the scholar went down the mountain, he walked back the same way he had come, but he felt something was wrong. He looked around and found a colorful tiger crouching in the grass in front of him.
Seeing this, the tiger stopped lurking and suddenly jumped out with its bloody mouth wide open, scaring the scholar.
"Evil beast, why don't you retreat?"
A gentle voice sounded, and the evil tiger left in disappointment.
The scholar saw a monk in a yellow cassock walking out from the side. He had a handsome face and a peaceful temperament.
"Thank you, Master, for saving your life!"
The scholar expressed gratitude.
"That vicious tiger is a tiger of anger and delusion. Since the donor has no anger or hatred in his heart, it cannot harm the donor in the slightest without my presence."
After he finished speaking, Jin Chanzi took out an ordinary alms bowl from his bosom and gave it to the scholar, saying, "The villages and towns ahead are mostly inhabited by Buddhists. If it's inconvenient for you, you can beg for alms along the way."
The scholar was overjoyed. After taking the bowl, he wanted to thank the master, but when he looked up again, he found that the master had disappeared.
Back to the top of the mountain.
Jin Chanzi asked, "Brother, I won this time."
Huang Mei was dissatisfied and said angrily: "That scholar is hypocritical and has many greedy thoughts in his heart. He must have seen that you and I are testing him, and he wants to please you and get your reward."
Huang Mei thought he had found the answer, and his eyes showed joy.
Seeing this, Jin Chanzi completely gave up hope.
He gave the scholar just an ordinary bowl.
Huang Mei did not give up and continued to observe the yellow wind rat in secret.
The Yellow Wind Rat settled down at the foot of a mountain, did some farm work in exchange for supplies, and then went to the town to buy Buddhist scriptures to study.
Life is also peaceful.
Huang Mei did something bad and spread the rumor that Huang Feng Shu was a monster, causing panic among the villagers. In the middle of the night, someone burned Huang Feng Shu's house.
The Yellow Wind Rat was not angry. He just packed up his scriptures and went to a place with fewer people to practice.
When being driven away, Huang Fengshu thought of what happened in Ussuri Country. What the Ji Luo brothers said was indeed right. If their identities were exposed, people would be afraid of monsters in a hurry.
At this time, Ji Luo was also busy with his own affairs.
Because the vegetable fields in Guanzhong are so fertile, there is no need to go down the mountain often to buy supplies.
After Ji Luo came down and strolled around, he found that the people in the town lived a more peaceful life.
Since the Immortal Invitation Conference, the people in the town have become smarter and always answer that there are no outsiders who want to come and look for immortals.
Even if others said there was a legend about gods, the people in the town would insist that it didn't exist.
Just as Ji Luo was strolling around, a young man put his arm around his shoulders.
