Miyu is Shirou Emiya's first familiar, and also the leader of the familiar.
Now, only one month has passed since she officially embarked on her adventurer's journey.
In this short period of time, her growth rate far surpassed that of Emiya or Belle.
After confirming the girl's stats, Emiya nodded slightly and performed a level-up ceremony for her.
Miyu's level has been raised to Lv.3, and she has gained the development ability [Miracle].
·
Inside a shop neatly displaying various weapons and armor, a little woman dressed in business attire is flipping through an account book.
A girl walked up to her and said, "Sister Lily."
"Ah, Miyu, it's been a long time." The little woman looked up and smiled gently.
Lilyluka Erd, a dwarf, Lv.2, financial manager of the Hephaestus Familia, titled "Golden Queen".
She wore a well-tailored black suit, the pencil skirt perfectly showcasing her curves without being ostentatious, black stockings extending down her slender legs, and delicate high heels.
A pair of non-prescription half-rimmed glasses perched on her nose added to her intellectual and capable air.
Despite being only 110cm tall, a typical dwarf, and only at level 2 (which she barely reached by being fed experience by high-level adventurers), her aura was surprisingly strong.
Her calm confidence and shrewd, capable demeanor made her appear no small person, even when standing before humans, orcs, or high elves.
Even adventurers who are many times stronger than her will unconsciously restrain their attitude when facing her, for fear that her sharp gaze will see through their problems.
However, Lily was exceptionally gentle when facing Miyu.
After exchanging greetings, Miyu explained her purpose to Lily.
Miyu's level has been raised to Lv.3, which means she can start using level 2 weapons, so she came to the Hephaestus Familia's specialty store to choose suitable weapons and armor.
As for why they bought it instead of having Emiya build it himself, the reason is simple—Emiya is not yet capable of making such weak equipment.
Unlike a seasoned deity like Hephaestus, whose control over divine power has reached a state of perfection, Emiya has only been a god for a short time and still needs to improve his control over divine power.
Now, no matter how hard Emiya tries, as long as he forges it himself, the finished product will inevitably be an absurdly powerful divine weapon.
Therefore, Miyu had no choice but to come here to choose a set of equipment that was more suitable for her daily adventures.
Although her brother had already forged a complete set of top-tier divine weaponry for her, and she could even open the Gate of Babylon and retrieve her Noble Phantasms if she so desired, these extraordinary Noble Phantasms were clearly not suitable for daily exploration and combat.
After learning of Miyu's purpose, Lily personally selected a new set of equipment that best suited her, carefully choosing the materials, weight, and performance to ensure that it perfectly matched her fighting style.
As for fees, naturally, not a single penny will be charged.
Although Shirou Emiya has established his own Familia, he has not left the Hephaestus Familia and remains a full member. Given his status and contributions within the Familia, no one would question whether Miyu wanted an entire armory, let alone just a set of equipment.
·
On the other hand, after updating Miyu's stats, Emiya originally planned to immediately transfer back to Riveria and the others to continue traveling with them.
However, at that moment, an unexpected letter arrived at his home.
The letter came from Tione Schilt, an adventurer from the Loki Familia known as the "Raging Serpent," who explained that she was about to undergo a level-up.
Tione hopes to complete this upgrade at the temple of the Ishtar Familia and requests Emiya to perform the "ritual" of the Amazon clan's rank elevation with her.
"Tione is also going to level up." Emiya's tone was somewhat wistful, but he also felt that it was only natural.
Given Tione's talent and strength, breaking through to Lv.7 was only a matter of time, so this wasn't exactly surprising news.
As for why Tione of the Loki Familia chose the temple of the Ishtar Familia as her upgrade site, it is not hard to understand.
After all, that temple is now considered a sacred site for the Amazons.
Emiya thought for a moment: "Tione's ascension ceremony... Hmm, then let's go to the temple of the Ishtar Familia first."
Even today, all sorts of stories continue to unfold in this labyrinthine city.
Epilogue: Goddess War
God, an all-knowing and all-powerful being.
Although the scale of divine power varies from person to person, and may be strong or weak, its essence remains the same.
In the celestial realm, the status of deities is differentiated based on their divine power. However, the hierarchy among deities is not a power class in the secular sense, but rather more like a game among children to see who is the most powerful.
After all, gods possess omniscient and omnipotent divine power. It is rare for gods to have genuine conflicts of interest. They do not need to fight for resources or compete for survival. Conflicts among gods are often not for practical benefits, but merely for personal feelings.
In fact, those who were obsessed with the position of "King of Gods (King of Children)" were the relatively young gods, such as Zeus and Odin.
As for the truly older gods, such as Gaia, Tiamat, and Uranus, they have become indifferent to this kind of game.
In the heavens, all gods are essentially equal. Although some gods are more powerful, more prestigious, and are even revered as "great gods," this does not mean that they can truly dominate other gods.
Although the concept of "subordination to God" exists, this is not the master-servant relationship in the secular world, let alone the distinction between master and slave.
In reality, the relationship between a deity and its subordinate gods is more like that of a "king of children" or a "princess" and her "followers".
Among the gods, only a few have "subordinate gods," usually those beings known as "great gods." Among these, a very small number of gods have multiple, or even numerous, subordinate gods.
For example, Amaterasu, as a "great goddess", is the deity with the most subordinate gods.
However, this does not mean that Amaterasu is the strongest among all the gods. There are other reasons why Amaterasu has so many subordinate gods.
In her homeland, a culture of forming cliques developed among the gods. They were accustomed to depending on each other and forming a large pantheon. Amaterasu, as the most prestigious among them, was naturally elevated to the position of "leader" and became the "big sister" recognized by all the gods.
In addition, there is a more direct reason: there are simply too many gods in Amaterasu's homeland.
Compared to deities with numerous subordinate gods, there is an even rarer situation, which is—
·
“If Shirou is a subordinate god, then I should be the chief god.”
"Hephaestus spoke earnestly, her tone firm and unwavering, her deep red eyes gleaming with a fiery light."
The goddess's logic is simple and direct—before becoming a god, Emiya was her servant, bearing the "divine grace" bestowed upon him by her.
In that case, if he were to become a subordinate god after becoming a god, then the chief god would naturally be Hephaestus. In the goddess's view, there was absolutely no room for dispute about this.
This is an elegant tea room in the labyrinth city of Orario, where several goddesses sit around a carved wooden table, enjoying fragrant tea.
What started as a casual tea party ranged from the latest developments in the labyrinth city to the latest fashion trends, and then to which tavern had the finest wine...
The atmosphere suddenly became subtle after the topic of "subordination to God" was brought up.
At that moment, just as Hephaestus finished his declaration, a soft laugh rang out.
"I can't agree with that!"
Freya gently lifted her teacup, took a sip, and smiled as she gazed at Hephaestus, a hint of certainty appearing in her silver-purple eyes.
“The one qualified to be Shirou’s chief deity should be the most beautiful god.” She raised her chin slightly and said with a matter-of-fact confidence.
“What kind of logic is this?” Hephaestus frowned.
"Because we're goddesses~" Freya spread her hands as if it were the most natural thing in the world, with an elegant smile that was almost so confident as to be unreasonable: "The most important quality of a goddess is, of course, beauty!"
What kind of sophistry is this?!
Upon hearing this, Hephaestus's lips twitched violently. She never expected Freya to be able to utter such a twisted logic with such self-righteousness.
However, before Hephaestus could retort, a serious voice interrupted the conversation.
“That’s too biased.” Artemis crossed her arms, her expression solemn. “You must understand, Shirou is a god of war. Therefore, the most suitable person to guide him should naturally be a goddess who is also a god of war…”
The so-called "God of War," as the name suggests, is a deity who wields the divine authority of "military force." Their existence symbolizes the ultimate in combat; they are the sharpest spear and the strongest shield among all the gods.
Artemis is one of them. Her combat power can be said to be in the first tier below the "great gods", and in terms of martial arts alone, she is even stronger than many "great gods".
However, before Artemis could finish speaking, another elegant voice rang out.
"If we're talking about force..."
Astraea smiled gently, her long brown hair shimmering softly in the dim light. She tossed a strand of hair aside and said, "I am exceptionally confident, and besides, I also possess a portion of the power of the [Sword God]... In that case, I should be the most suitable person for that child."
Like Artemis, Astrea is also a goddess of war, and in terms of combat power and martial arts, she is in no way inferior to Artemis.
And so, none of the goddesses were willing to give in. At first, they were seriously discussing: if Emiya became a subordinate god, then who should be his chief god?
However, as the discussion deepened, the topic completely deviated from its original trajectory, and could even be said to have gradually spiraled out of control.
Later, the debate was no longer about the right to belong to God, but completely evolved into a show-off contest about who was closer to Emiya.
Loki, who had been quietly sipping her tea, watched the heated debate with a subtle expression. Her eyes gradually became vacant, and only three questions remained in her mind: "Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?"
Speaking of which, I've only ever heard of a god having multiple subordinate gods, never a god having multiple goddesses as subordinates... So who is subordinate to whom? — Loki silently complained to himself.
"I knew I shouldn't have come..." She looked down at the teacup in her hand and thought seriously.
Meanwhile, the goddesses' dispute eventually escalated into a formal "challenge."
Their argument was unresolved, so they reached a consensus: once they returned to the Heavenly Realm, they would settle their differences based on their abilities!
Artemis and Astrea are both goddesses of war, while Hephaestus and Freya, though not known for their martial prowess, are equally powerful deities not to be underestimated.
As for what happened later, they created a small world as a battlefield. However, some of the divine power that overflowed from the battle still affected a world (the Type-Moon world) that had become connected with them because of Emiya's existence. This frightened the world's suppression force, and almost created several "Losers"... But that's another story.
Final remarks
The first chapter of this book was uploaded on August 20, 2024, and it officially ended after 6 months.
It was quite a long journey, and I'm truly grateful for everyone's company and support during this time.
Actually, this book could still be continued if I wanted to.
By adding settings such as "limited spirit origin" and "world constraints" to restrict Emiya's strength in the Type-Moon world, he can participate in the plots of various Fate works step by step and continue writing as a Type-Moon story.
With the current results, if I continue writing, I can still earn a considerable amount of royalties each month.
However, I don't really like the practice of deliberately limiting the protagonist in order to force the story to continue. Moreover, in my opinion, there are already too many Type-Moon stories like this.
My vision for this book has always been that of Shirou Emiya's story in the DanMachi world. The Type-Moon part is meant to make up for some regrets and to give the great hero Emiya's story a beginning and an end; it's a kind of side story.
As a fanfiction of DanMachi, this book's content and structure should be quite complete.
The idea to write this book first came to me because I watched the fourth season of the anime "DanMachi," which led me to reread the light novel version of "DanMachi."
After that, I got the inspiration to create a fanfiction of "DanMachi". After designing the outline, I designed the protagonist of the story to be Shirou Emiya from the world of Miyu in Magical Girl Illya, also known as the Great Hero Emiya.
DanMachi is my favorite light novel, and Shirou Emiya is one of my favorite characters. Among them, the great hero Emiya from Miyu's world is my absolute favorite.
Looking back on the writing process, I would say that the creation of this book went relatively smoothly. The overall outline was finalized before we even started writing, and the book was ultimately completed largely according to that outline.
The ending, where Emiya saves the world using the same method as Illya, was actually decided before I even started writing the first chapter. However, initially, the final boss was intended to be Gaia, the goddess corresponding to Uranus, the god of the sky. Later, considering that Gaia lacked a concrete character design and image, making it difficult for readers to connect with her, I changed it to Tiamat, another goddess of creation.
I must also say that even with a well-prepared outline, the difficulty of creating a DanMachi fanfic increases significantly in the later stages.
One common problem in DanMachi fanfiction is that the protagonist becomes too powerful later on, leaving him with no strong enemies to fight. To address this, I used a clever trick: after Emiya reaches Level 5, he occupies more of the "Boss" role than the "Challenger" role, and the final boss of the book is someone whose strength is insufficient to defeat him, requiring a specific mechanic to overcome.
There are also issues such as the original work not being completed, the lack of description of areas outside of Orario, and the unresolved mysteries of the two core settings: the Black Dragon and the Dungeon. In addition, due to personal factors, as my doctoral studies progressed and the pressure of research and projects increased, I was indeed somewhat exhausted both physically and mentally when I reached the final stage of writing this book. The ending may have been a bit rushed, and there are indeed many parts that were not well written.
However, although it wasn't perfect, it at least brought the story to a complete and somewhat satisfactory conclusion.
Furthermore, I maintained perfect attendance throughout the entire serialization of this book, from its inception to its conclusion, something I feel I can be somewhat proud of.
If I have any further ideas, I might write some epilogues and side stories. The main storyline has officially ended.
The story of the great hero Emiya has come to an end.
