"luna wasn't your daughter's real name was it"

"no, it was not" he said

"what was it?" I asked

"terra" he replied

there was a deafening silence until prof stine just snapped

"ten years...for TEN F*CKING YEARS I didn't know about her real name, I didn't know anything about"

"all the time I spent with her was any of that true"

i was just silently looking at the scene unfold because how the heck was I supposed to know that he found out the truth recently. heck! i only found out an hour ago!

and i still don't know everything

"i am pretty sure much of it was not a lie. she just buried her past. probably wanted to start anew" i said trying to make him feel a little better

"you would know about that, wouldn't you" he sneered

my mind stopped for a sec, "what" i said without realizing

"oh don't act like you don't know what i am talking about"

"i have lived in this town long enough to know that you and your "brother" came here to start a new "life". good job on that by the way. i almost didn't suspect a thing"

my eyes darkened as i felt the anger rise inside me

"what do you know?" i asked

"not much. no matter how much i asked them they never told me about "her"" he replied and i felt a little bit of relief

"he doesn't know" i told myself

"you need to relax" i told

"you aren't thinking straight"

"aren't thinking straight?" he said and laughed. it wasn't a happy laugh, it was a bitter one

"you think i am not thinking straight!" he continued laughing

"it is not funny!" i said

"you are right, it is not funny but you know what is?"

"the love of life dying and being unable to do anything about it, adopting a kid who also dies and i can't do anything about it. i finally get over the grief of losing people and a person shows up in my front door and tells me everything i knew about luna ten years ago was a freaking lie because luna wasn't even her real name, it was f*cking terra! so yes it is all very funny to me"

i stared stunned. if someone told me a month ago that there will be a time when i will be on the top of the school holding a teacup and prof stine acting like a maniac, i would have asked what you were drinking

"now that, that is out of your system. want some tea?" i asked

he took the teapot and threw it like a baseball pitcher
