Chapter 1092 The Truth About the One Ring

Chapter 1092 The Truth About the One Ring

“Of course! That’s his divine position!” Tom Bombadil stared into Roland’s eyes and said, enunciating each word clearly.

"Huh???" Roland gave him a confused look, like a cow-and-cat.

“Sauron’s godhood is damaged, but he still has his divine position and his kingdom! During the final battle of the Alliance, he fought against the Allied forces as a false god, but was ultimately defeated and sealed away. Over the years, his godhood should have been repaired, but his divine position was lost! The One Ring is the physical embodiment and symbol of the Demon God’s divine position! If Sauron obtains it, he will be a true god!” Tom Bombadil explained with a dark face.

“I have a plan! Where is his divine kingdom? I’ll smash it to pieces first!” Roland immediately had a plan in mind.

“His kingdom has manifested as Mordor!” Tom Bombadil declared decisively.

"Farewell!" Roland turned and left upon hearing this. Was he some kind of saint from Middle-earth? He was willing to risk the destruction of Lagrange to dismantle Mordor, and even if he succeeded, Sauron would still be a stable demigod!
No wonder Sauron the Cat remained silent in Middle-earth for thousands of years; he was cultivating his divine status! No wonder he started causing trouble these past few years; his divine status was almost complete, and he was coming out to claim his divine position! This also explains Sauron's furtive and suspicious behavior at this time in history! After all, if he were to cause trouble now, those demigods could really crush him!
"I know where the One Ring is! How about I bring it to you?" Roland's eyes suddenly lit up, and an idea instantly came to him. "If I can't kill Sauron, I won't find the One Ring! Give it to me! I'll just give it to the true god!"
"No way! It's not like I don't know where it is! Isn't it in the hands of that little hobbit in the Shire? I'm warning you, don't try to shift the blame! That's your human problem! If you dare take it, I'll give it to him when Sauron comes looking for him!" Tom Bombadil rolled his eyes. Using the old man as a target? No way!

"Aren't you also a human being? Help humans out, senior!" Roland was practically begging for help.

"What are you talking about? Sauron is also a god of humanity! This matter is essentially a human affair. Unless he's so deranged as to try and destroy my forest, I won't interfere! Humanity's problems are for humanity to solve!" Tom Bambadil waved his hand in refusal. Why should he interfere in the internal conflicts between humanity's own gods and humanity itself? His existence is merely to maintain humanity's survival. Whether Sauron wants to rule the world or not is none of his concern and doesn't interfere with his authority!
"???" Roland's eyes widened in disbelief. So there was this death twist? If Tom Bombadil hadn't mentioned it, Roland would have almost forgotten that Sauron had another title: the Lord of Men! No wonder the elves and dwarves were so uninterested in the War of the Ring; they probably realized after the final battle of the alliance between the two sides that this wasn't a human civil war. It felt like the Fourth Shinobi World War and Konoha...

"This is outrageous! What should I do?" Roland pleaded for help.

"Whatever! If all else fails, you can submit to Sauron! Haven't all the Eastern humans bowed down to his throne?" Tom Bombadil waved his hand.

"Huh??? Me??? Emperor Lagrange! Lord of the Dragon Clan! Human Emperor! Dragon Emperor! I kneel before him?" Roland pointed to his face in disbelief.

“There’s no room for so many people here, and do you really think you’re the Great Emperor of Lagrange? Does the current Lagrange even deserve it? Back in the day, Sauron of the Lagrange Empire would have been quite capable if he’d even glanced at him! Oh right! Sauron was the last person to become a god in the last world. The Lagrange Empire had already been destroyed by the time he was born, so he never even saw Lagrange…” Tom Bombadil scratched his head.

"Ahem! Don't discourage me! I'm gathering my old troops too! The empire will return one day!" Roland patted his chest and said.

"Your Lagrange Empire's Fire Seed Project is quite good, but it's impossible to recreate the empire's heyday with those seeds! You need time to accumulate!" Clearly, Tom Bombadil had seen the empire at its peak.

"Yes! The number of guardian dragons alone isn't even a fraction of what we have!" Roland exclaimed. "You could say that the Lagrange Empire struggled to assemble a complete dragon rider regiment during its heyday, and the Empire wouldn't hold it against you. But you're talking about assembling guardian dragons? The Empire could at least field two square banners of guardian dragon formations!"

It's important to understand that the ratio of Imperial Guardian Dragons to active Dragon Knights has never been 2:1! This means that for every new Dragon Knight born, at least one Guardian Dragon awaits their arrival! Many Dragon Knight families have fewer eligible members than their own Guardian Dragons! Add to that the high attrition rate in human-dragon compatibility, and there have even been cases where a Dragon Knight family's Guardian Dragon only had the first generation of Dragon Knights, and centuries later, not even a second generation had been born. This is because there were simply too many dragons and too few young, prospective knights—they couldn't possibly ride them all!
"Hey! I have a plan that can help you get rid of Sauron!" Tom Bombadil raised his index finger, a plan forming in his mind.

"Hmm? You have a plan too?" Roland's heart skipped a beat. "Isn't your dragon a golden dragon? Just ride it around the entrance of Dragon Island, then head straight for Mordorza!" Tom Bombadil gave a thumbs up.

"Those dragon kings and ancient dragons will absolutely turn Mordor upside down!" Tom Bombadil was convinced that his plan was absolutely feasible!

"Heh!" Roland laughed in anger on the spot. Great, Sauron is dead! Am I going to die too? Guaranteed! With Mordor's territory torn apart, even the earthworms of Lagrange will be sliced vertically by the ancient dragons!
"Am I out of my mind to take him to Dragon Island?!" Roland was completely exasperated.

"Look on the bright side, those dragons wouldn't dare kill you! If you die, they won't live either!" Tom Bombadil nodded.

"I still have my family! I still have my kingdom! Think of my wife! Think of my people!" Roland's eyes widened. He might not be torn apart by the dragon, but the rest of the kingdom probably wouldn't survive.

"Then why don't you hurry up and figure out how to deal with Soren yourself!" Tom Bombadil rolled his eyes at Roland.

"By the way, although I can't be on the front lines to help you, I can sponsor you a squad of Hobbit archers! Don't underestimate them; the League of Nations also had a squad of Hobbit archers back in the day!" Tom Bombadil gave Roland a thumbs up.

"???" Roland's eyes widened as if he had heard something unbelievable.

“What? You don’t believe me? I have some reputation and connections among the Hobbits!” Tom Bombadil assured him.

“No? I owe you a band of hobbits? What I lack are archers?” Roland said, petrified.

“Then there’s nothing I can do about the rest. Just make sure he doesn’t get the One Ring! The rest doesn’t matter!” Tom Bombadil shook his head.

"Then do you think it's okay if I give the Ring to the North for protection?" Roland asked.

"Can you defeat Sauron now? He senses the presence of the Ring and might unleash his full force!" Tom Bombadil asked Roland seriously.

“That’s not safe even in the hands of the Hobbits! Orcs and Ringwraiths could invade and steal the Ring at any time!” Roland said, noting that the Ringwraiths had indeed reached the Shire in history.

“That’s still safer than the North! I can at least shield the Shire from the Ring’s presence! Otherwise, how do you think that little hobbit has managed to keep that ring all these years? Now the Ringwraiths are already wandering around!” Tom Bombadil said, referring to the recent situation in Middle-earth.

The author tried to make the world-building more coherent, since there were indeed many logical gaps to fill in when drastically altering the original work.
