Chapter 1158 Candidate for Emperor

Sending away the Phoenix King is a grand proposition.

Many people in the Empire respect them, but more are in awe of them, believing that the elves' interference in the Sigmar Empire is too deep.

The relationship stemming from the Great Holy War gave the two sides a grand epic destiny from the very beginning. The destinies of the three dwarf tribes were briefly intertwined, but as time passed, they seemed to have returned to the way things were before.

At the dock hotel in Marienburg, the Phoenix King, who was temporarily staying there, looked at the dwarf prince who had hurriedly arrived and felt very amused.

The man was wearing a rune blacksmith's horn helmet, with an iron hammer tied around his waist, and the stone armor Drak Duraz logo tattooed on his armor.

Judging from the dwarf's markings, this little bearded man can be considered strong and powerful, of course this excludes monsters like Agrim.

"Snorri... Thorgrim's second son. I really envy him."

The Phoenix King's teasing made Snorri feel embarrassed. In terms of age, his father Thorgrim was much younger than Imrik, but he had several more children.

The population of elves far exceeds that of dwarves, but when it comes to rulers, the law is reversed.

"The High King asked me to bring greetings to His Majesty the Phoenix King."

"Thorgrin wants to say something... Snorri, the bearded man who shares the same name as the White Dwarf, is not expecting me to help him deal with your Chaos cousins."

Speaking of Chaos Dwarves, Snorri's mood changed noticeably. He took a few deep breaths, and the mustache on his chin swayed.

"Of course not. The Empire is a staunch ally of the Dwarves. The High King hopes that you can restrain your actions. Caledor's actions in the South Kingdom have caused criticism in the Mountain Kingdom.

If the Phoenix Court continues to adopt a similar attitude towards the Empire, the dwarves cannot sit idly by."

Simply put, all human beings are equal, but some humans are more equal than their peers.

In the eyes of the dwarves, the sacred covenant with Sigmar is more lasting than gold. The elves attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of humans, but they must never endanger the stability of the Sigmar Empire.

"Can I take this as a threat?"

The pressure from the Phoenix King made Snorri narrow his eyes. Although he was young, he was experienced in the army and was not comparable to an ordinary man with a mustache.

The second son of the Supreme King stood tall and showed no fear: “You can think of it this way. The Mountain Kingdom hopes that the Empire will remain prosperous and stable, and abide by the ancient sacred covenant under the banner of Sigmar’s Twin-Tailed Comet.

The flames of a twin-tailed comet will not change from red to white. I hope the elves understand this."

Stop it, Imrik. The Mountain Kingdom does not want the elves to attack the Empire again. This is what Thorgrin thinks.

Imrik chuckled slightly. It seemed that Thorgrin still stubbornly believed that the Electors' Conference could solve internal affairs. He actually thought that the elves' actions were to support a puppet emperor.

"I accept the dwarf's advice... but neither the elves nor the dwarves have the right to decide the fate of the empire. We should let the imperial people handle it themselves."

Snorri's eyes were full of doubt. His father's judgment might be wrong. Imrik did not show any anger or sophistry. It seemed that he came to Marienburg not for the independence of the empire.

As the dwarf continued to ponder, Imrick waved his hand and asked the herald to bring the long-awaited visitor to the scene: "The Phoenix Court has no interest in interfering in the internal affairs of the empire. Human affairs are always difficult to predict. I am just providing a suitable opportunity for a suitable person."

Soon after, the visitor walked in calmly. William was tall, with a straight and serious face. His upbringing as a member of the Elector's family gave him an impressive temperament, and he walked with an unquestionable sense of authority.

"Your Majesty the Phoenix King." He first greeted the Phoenix King, then turned his attention to the dwarf.

Perhaps it was because he had met him once in the palace that William had some ability to distinguish between dwarves who looked almost identical to him. He quickly determined that this man was the second son of the High King.

"Prince Snorri."

Snorri was surprised by the Elector's visit. He had not expected that the von Holswig Schlistin family, the most influential family in the empire, had become the Phoenix King's watchdog.

"William, are you worthy of Sigma's teachings?!"

William was puzzled. After sitting on a wooden chair, he spread his hands and asked Snorri: "Prince Snorri, I don't quite understand what you mean. Why am I here to live up to Sigmar's teachings?"

"you you……"

Not sure if they were really stupid or just pretending, Snorri thought humans were pretending to be confused. If they didn't want to gain Imrik's support, why would they appear in Marienburg?

The facts proved that the dwarf's judgment was correct. William did not shy away from the presence of Snorri and succinctly described recent events.

"Nearly half of the members of the Electoral Parliament have agreed to Marienburg's independence referendum, and Dieter IV is still enjoying endless wine, meat and food in Nuln, wishing he could stuff a cart of desserts into his mouth and turn into a fat pig.

I hope you will support the von Holswig-Schlistin family's proposal to impeach Dieter IV in the Electoral Council."

"Shouldn't we attack Marienburg first?" Imrick asked back. If he wanted to cut a piece of fat from Westerland, this would be the best opportunity.

"No, as long as the emperor rejects the legitimacy of the referendum bill, Marienburg's request will be invalidated. At that time, no matter how much gold the Council pays, it will not be able to blind the Electoral Parliament."

William said with a firm tone, and recommended the candidate: "Ostermark..."

"No, I think you are a good emperor." Imrick interrupted William. The Electoral Parliament is nothing more than a bunch of idiots and a stupid system.

As long as the electors and the three major churches of Sigmar, Ulric and Tal are controlled, the throne of emperor will be in hands.

The von Holswig Schlistin family was already a strong contender for the throne of emperor. The southern lords were all headed by Rick, and if they could deal with a few northern forces, they would be able to compete for the throne of emperor.

William looked calm. When the letter was delivered to Lord Rick, both sides had already reached a tacit understanding.

However, there are still some unstable factors. It will take some time to impeach the current emperor and elect the next one.

In order to get the Electoral Parliament to end the political turmoil in a short period of time and elect a new emperor before the end of the Marienburg referendum, external forces are needed.

William was confident that he could get rid of Dieter IV, but this would take a long time, and an important boost would be the division of Marienburg.

But if he could take Marienburg and obtain the throne of emperor at the same time, why should he hesitate?

You know, the empire is made up of a group of people with different thoughts, and he doesn't mind saving the country in a roundabout way. (End of this chapter)
