Chapter 644 Beneath the Lake
The bottom of the lake was not what Jiang Wen had imagined, nor was it a sight that ordinary people could see. It was an indescribable, unparalleled world.

Crimson, lava-like liquid flows ceaselessly, the vast world stretching to the horizon. Dimness and scarlet hues mingle with a blood-red glow on the trembling membrane overhead.

From top to bottom, countless slender strands intertwined, hanging down thousands of feet, covering the land. Countless dark, crimson beams of light connected the top and bottom, and every now and then a flash of blood-red light could be seen.

Dull, dim, surprised, strange.

Even Jiang Wen found it difficult to describe this underwater world in words; it contained no water and no living beings.

A sense of oppression filled his entire body, a feeling that was incomparable even to the giant spirits he had ever seen.

"This place is very strange," Jiang Su murmured in her mind's eye. "I can sense the presence of life, but it's not what I expected."

"This is probably inside the five internal organs of the fallen immortal," Jiang Wen said calmly. Even though it was his first time here, he still had a different feeling. This vast underwater world gave him a sense of déjà vu.

That was everything he sensed and knew while wandering in chaos.

"If this is the Heavenly King, then the five internal organs naturally form the universe. The heart is the origin of all living beings, and if I am not mistaken, this is probably the source of the Heavenly King's spiritual essence."

Jiang Wen carefully examined the place and made a fairly accurate guess about it.

"Then haven't we entered the heart of the Heavenly King of Growth?" Jiang Su asked.

“Yes, this should be the origin of the Land of Divine Blessing, and the source of protection for the Baixi tribe. This must be the place that the Baixi elders have been dreaming of finding.” Jiang Wen leaped down from the height and landed on the ground.

He looked up at the abyss at the bottom of the lake, where the water was suspended above him. It seemed to be bound by something, not a single drop of water leaking out.

This reminded Jiang Wen of the scenery he had seen in Buzhou Mountain, which was roughly the same as the internal organs of this Heavenly King.

"Could it be such a coincidence?" A thought suddenly occurred to Jiang Wen. The way from Buzhou Mountain to the Flesh Soil was the same, and the way he came to the Heavenly King's Five Organs was also the same. Could it be that Buzhou Mountain holds other secrets, or perhaps it was even a fallen immortal in disguise?

Jiang Wen felt this conjecture was highly plausible, since both the God Worship Society and the righteous path placed the place where evil gods were conceived in Buzhou Mountain. This indicated that Buzhou Mountain held a great secret that he was unaware of at the time.

I've made up my mind to revisit Buzhou Mountain when I have the chance.

Jiang Wen suppressed his thoughts and stepped into the heart of the fallen immortal.

The silken threads hanging down from the red membrane on the top of the head resembled dried-up intestines, black and rough. They intertwined and knotted, gathering into patches, like forests.

Trying to separate these threads with my hands, I was surprised to feel a flow of spiritual energy within them.

He observed his surroundings and understood the function of these threads. If he wasn't mistaken, these threads drew spiritual energy from the ground and then transmitted it to the red membrane thousands of feet above his head.

The earth beneath my feet writhed, constantly churning the dark red slurry as if it were alive. It continuously drew something from that slurry, transforming it into spiritual energy.

"Your Excellency, if this were the Heavenly King's internal organs, would He still be alive?" Jiang Su asked Jiang Wen with some curiosity.

"When I first saw that giant spirit god, though dead, he still retained his consciousness. He could understand my Daoist teachings and even converse with me. If he hadn't injured me, perhaps I could have asked him about ancient myths. Unfortunately, that giant spirit god was determined to kill me, and I had to flee. But judging from his expression, death and life made little difference to such an immortal." Jiang Wen recalled the giant spirit god from the Land of Fallen Immortals with a touch of melancholy. When he met him, he had thought he could glean some secrets from him.

After all, the title "Giant Spirit God" is too familiar. Whether it's Journey to the West or Taoist mythology, the Giant Spirit God can be seen.

There are no records of such deities in the Great Qian Dynasty, nor are there any mythological figures from his world. Yet, in this land of fallen immortals, he encountered things he was familiar with, which could be considered a kind of encounter with an old friend in a foreign land.

Now, another deity appears—one of the legendary Four Heavenly Kings. Even in the Daoist canon, such deities are highly revered. Regardless of Jiang Wen's belief that these deities are not dead, but rather surviving in ways unknown to him, he chuckled. "Those who cultivate the Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown and the Five Qi Converging at the Origin can transcend the Three Realms and escape the Five Elements. The Four Heavenly Kings might be even more mysterious beings. Even if they were to become fallen immortals, they wouldn't die. Perhaps they are currently in a deep slumber, never to awaken," Jiang Wen said. "If I could awaken this Heavenly King, I would certainly have a good conversation with him."

“If He is like the fallen immortal that the Venerable One spoke of, then what should we do?” Jiang Su asked doubtfully.

“There’s always a way, especially since the Heavenly King hasn’t woken up for countless years. Although we don’t know why these immortals became fallen immortals, the calamity that caused their downfall must be extraordinary. If nothing unexpected happens, he won’t wake up.” Jiang Wen reassured them, without much concern.

Even though he is currently residing within the Heavenly King's five internal organs, he remains calm and composed.

With someone to accompany you, the journey doesn't feel boring at all.

The underwater world is incredibly vast, and there are all sorts of wonders within it.

Jiang Wen saw the things that had transformed into wandering spirits. They were not living beings, yet they could live like living beings. These wandering spirits depended on the boundless dark red liquid, and after taking out something faintly glowing from it, they hurriedly left.

He tried to grab a few and question them, but Jiang Su told him that these wandering spirits were merely spiritual entities, devoid of consciousness. Their actions were constant and could not be changed in their eternal existence.

Having understood this, Jiang Wen gave up trying to figure out the wandering spirits. He continued deeper into the cave until he reached a huge, blood-red cave.

The cave is covered by a red membrane, extending to its deepest depths.

Its surface is uneven, resembling a mountain cave.

However, this cave was no ordinary place; Jiang Wen sensed the presence of living people inside.

"Strange? Could there be someone still living in this cave?" Jiang Wen stared intently at the upper level of the cave, trying to discern something from the countless round, bumpy growths.

His consciousness was suppressed here, and he was unable to use any of the same supernatural powers or spells.

They could only rely on their physical strength to search for clues in this strange place.

"Su, can you sense the presence of a living person?" Jiang Wenchao asked Jiang Su.

“I could feel it, but it was still very far away from us. And the aura of these living people was very weak; their condition seemed abnormal.”

Jiang Su's cold voice came through, telling Jiang Wen some bad news.

Looking up at the deep, bottomless cave, he decided to go up and explore it anyway.

Jiang Wen leaped a hundred feet, rarely using his full strength.

His speed was extremely fast, covering a distance of tens of miles in the blink of an eye.

As we sped along the cave wall, a howling wind swept through us.

Even with his lightning-fast speed, it still took Jiang Wen several hours to reach his destination.

He stopped, hanging upside down on a towering, fleshy hill, squinting as he looked into the distance.
