Chapter 1023 Covered with Moss

Chapter 1023 Covered with Moss
"Click."

After a crisp sound, the door lock opened.

There seemed to be no rust at all in the keyhole.

"The moss doesn't seem to affect the inside..."

Li Luo tried pushing the door handle again and found that the door could be opened inwards, but it seemed to encounter some resistance.

She looked up and immediately understood that it was the moss.

They were so thick that they covered the door, forming a heavy "door curtain" that even affected the opening of the door.

But this was just a small problem. Li Luo pulled out a small knife from his waist and planned to cut all the moss directly along the edge.

But before she could do anything, the cube helped her complete this step.

In just a moment, the moss covering the door was swept away and disappeared completely. Li Luo held the knife, was stunned for a moment, and then silently put it away.

The entire door had been completely revealed, but Li Luo did not open it immediately. She looked at the carvings on the door, lost in thought...

It was unclear whether the gate was made of metal or wood. The material looked a little black and very thick. There were some mysterious and exquisite patterns carved on it. After the moss was removed, these patterns were revealed unimpeded. Although there were still water stains on it, it was obvious that it was carefully designed. Using the gate as a canvas, a stunning sculpture was created.

“It’s not carved by a machine…”

Li Luo looked at the carvings of varying depths and strengths, and seemed to see the creator standing in front of the door and carving out the painting bit by bit with tools.

The content of the painting also shocked Li Luo.

That is - Noah's Ark.

An enormous ship was hanging in the center of the gate, with rays of holy light emanating from the ship, breaking through the dark clouds and reaching the sky.

The clouds in the distance rise and fall one after another, layer upon layer. It is obviously a stereotyped carving, but it has a hint of ink painting style, like a sea of clouds hovering above the mountains, and vaguely feels like a series of illusory waves, as if the flood is already hanging in the sky and will soon submerge the earth.

Outside the ark, there are animals queuing to board the cabin. They are in pairs, stretching for miles, winding into the distance. The animals nearby are portrayed vividly, looking around, as if they have already sensed the coming of the flood, with human-like worries on their faces. The animals in the distance are all different, and simple brushstrokes are used to highlight their characteristics under perspective, so that no pair of animals are repeated in the long line.

On the hill not far from the Ark, the trees had fallen down, the ground was in a mess, the soil was cracked, and some places were covered with the bones of unknown creatures. It seemed that the existence of human beings had caused such consequences. Just as recorded in the Book of Genesis, sin filled the world, and wherever human beings went, there was corruption and evil.

The existence of the dark clouds is heralding the coming of a rainstorm. God is going to send down rain to wash away the evil in the world.

Birds soared in the sky, also approaching the ark. They flew in pairs, looking for the only place to rest in the future flood.

Everything carved on the gate seemed to be scenes from Noah's Ark, but Li Luo looked at it for so long but did not see the most important thing.

"Where's Noah?"

In the story of Noah's Ark, Noah built this big ship with gopher wood, took his family, and guided the birds and beasts to hide in the ark.

But there is no trace of Noah in this carving.

There is not even a shadow of "humanity".

Every pair of animals is portrayed so carefully, even the evils of the world are shown vividly, and various details are used to indicate the coming of the flood. Every brushstroke is used with great delicacy. For such a sculpture, how could they actually forget to paint the protagonist?
Noah wasn't there, nor were his family, only the animals queuing up to get on the boat.

Li Luo didn't believe it, so he used the dim light to carefully search the gate, but still couldn't find Noah. "Could he be in the boat?"

Not only that, after taking a closer look, Li Luo discovered some strange things in the painting:

Among those animals, there were some that she didn't even recognize!
Although these unknown animals are far away in the group, the author of this engraving depicted them very carefully, so the appearance characteristics of these animals can still be clearly seen.

"A six-legged, cow-like creature."

"A 'sheep' with curved horns all over its body."

"A 'giraffe' with long legs but no long neck."

"A bird that flies in the sky but has no wings."

"An insect of gigantic size."

"The front limbs are tentacles, and the head is the 'kangaroo' of the dolphin."

"..."

This is just a small part. The more Li Luo looked, the more such creatures he found.

"It's normal for different species to appear in parallel worlds."

But why are those animals that violate common sense of life also depicted on it? Is it because the creator added some of his own artistic ideas when creating this painting?

The story of Noah's Ark is originally fictional, and the creator is free to express it in any way. However, Li Luo found it extremely strange to see these animals that looked like fantasy creatures mixed together with realistic animals in a line.

Combined with Noah's disappearance, she always felt that the carving was hinting at something.

"There are no humans, and so many strange creatures appear..."

When the rain stops, the flood recedes, and Noah's Ark reopens its hatch, what will the world look like when these surviving creatures return to the world? Li Luo couldn't help but imagine.

"A world... without humans?"

Li Luo suddenly remembered that the waiter did not recognize humans before.

“Could it be that the story told in this painting is real?”

The humans in this world did not board Noah's Ark, but only sent animals on board. All humans were destroyed in the flood, and along with the sins they had committed, they were washed away by the rainstorm. The animals created a new civilization in this world without humans...

"So the waiters in this hotel don't recognize humans, and the guests are all animals."

But this doesn’t make sense. Why do those waiters look like humans and speak human language?
In the original utility room, there were various languages.

In the Bible, different languages appeared after the Great Flood:
Noah's descendants gave birth to a new generation of humans. At that time, humans united to build the Tower of Babel, which could lead to heaven. In order to stop the human plan, God made humans speak different languages so that they could not communicate with each other. The plan therefore failed, and humans have since scattered...

If there really were no humans on this world's Noah's Ark, different languages would not appear.
