Chapter 999 Future Star Lord, Demon Seated as a Monk

As soon as he stepped into the East China Sea, the talisman in Jin Chanzi's hand lit up.

The radiance on it not only concealed Jin Chanzi's aura, but also guided him in the right direction.

Following the guidance, Jin Chanzi moved back and forth in the waves of the East China Sea.

Subsequently, as the radiant light on the talisman subsided, Jin Chanzi confirmed that he had arrived at his destination.

The place that Shakyamuni sent him to—the place the person Shakyamuni asked him to find—is also here.

Subconsciously, with a hint of indescribable tension and anticipation, he raised his head, his gaze piercing through the deep seawater, looking up and around him.

"Om-!"

In an instant, an uncontrollable sense of dread and fear, originating from the deepest part of his soul, seeped into his very bones like a million streams of water.

In that instant, Jin Chanzi felt his power surge uncontrollably, and a low hiss, half in shock and half in suppressed instinct, escaped his throat. He almost revealed his true form as a six-winged golden cicada on the spot! The Buddhist light around him also fluctuated violently, as if it would be completely crushed in the next moment.

Because the place he was in was not somewhere else.

It was none other than Longyuan in the East China Sea!

That's where the iron needle that once stabilized the sea was placed.

The place where the Great Dragon God, who upholds Heaven and righteousness, sleeps in seclusion.

The most important and vital place among the dragons!

Although the Great Dragon God Chengtian Bingyi has now emerged from seclusion, this does not mean that his former secluded place is open to just anyone to enter and exit!

Unless someone has Ao Bing's permission, anyone who steps into this place without authorization will almost certainly die. Back when the Great Dragon God Chengtian Bingyi was still in seclusion here, even Nezha, the leader of the Doubu tribe who was his close friend, had to inform him in advance before coming here.

But now...

Jin Chanzi glanced tremblingly at the bottomless Dragon Abyss.

The Dragon Abyss is deep and unfathomable, its existence like a great cycle of reincarnation in the netherworld. Just a few glances seem to devour one's soul and spirit.

Jin Chanzi could not even imagine...

With the help of the talisman bestowed by Shakyamuni, he silently stepped into the Dragon Abyss.

During this process, no one was alerted.

The dragons of the East Sea were unaware of this.

The Dragon King of the East Sea, who is comparable to the Great Luo Immortal, is unaware of this.

The Western Expeditionary Guardian, the White Tiger Heavenly Lord, who guards this place, is also unaware of this...

Beyond Dragon Abyss, in the vast expanse of the East China Sea, countless people are searching for traces of Jin Chanzi.

And now... Jin Chanzi is right here in front of this Dragon Abyss.

Looking at the bottomless Dragon Abyss, Jin Chanzi trembled as he took out the talisman and held it up to the abyss.

The talisman dispersed and transformed into streams of light in that instant.

Within the Dragon Abyss, there was also a fluctuating aura that merged with the flowing light.

Then, a figure dressed in a blue kasaya appeared before Jin Chanzi.

"Amitabha." A peaceful and resonant Buddhist chant rang out, carrying a soothing power, yet it exploded in Jin Chanzi's mind like a thunderclap. "What brings the Venerable Master to this Dragon Abyss?"

The moment Jin Chanzi's gaze fell upon the blue kasaya, it was as if he were being burned by an invisible flame. He suddenly lowered his head, and his body began to tremble violently uncontrollably. This time, even maintaining basic energy and appearance became extremely difficult!

A top-tier Taiyi cultivator, standing before this Dragon Abyss, felt as if he were a mortal who was unfamiliar with swimming, falling into a bottomless trench. An intense feeling of suffocation gripped his soul! Immense pressure surged from all directions, squeezing his physical body and crushing his primordial spirit. He even had the illusion of drowning.

Jin Chanzi lowered his head.

The ultimate treasure of Buddhism is the blue lotus banner.

That was something left behind by the Sage of Guidance before his passing away; it was Buddhism's trump card!
As a disciple of Shakyamuni, Jin Chanzi was aware of this.

He had even seen the blue lotus banner with his own eyes.

—It was precisely because of this, and because he had seen the Azure Lotus Banner, that Jin Chanzi dared to be certain that the robe worn by the person appearing before him was the Azure Lotus Banner!

Someone took the Buddhist treasure, the blue lotus flag left by the saint, split it in two, and made a kasaya from the flag!
Jin Chanzi dared not imagine what kind of turmoil this would cause within the Buddhist community if other Buddhist disciples learned of it.

When he tried his best to erase the memory of the robe from his mind, another characteristic of the person wearing the robe also appeared in Jin Chanzi's perception.

Its aura!
The aura emanating from him was strikingly similar to that of Maitreya, the future Buddha, and even seemed to share a common origin.

Those are all traces of what lies ahead into the future.

Jin Chanzi, who frequently traveled between Shakyamuni and Maitreya as a messenger, would never be mistaken about this.

In that instant, Jin Chanzi wished he could gouge out his own eyes.

He was absolutely certain that he had discovered something extraordinary.

"This humble monk, Jin Chanzi, has come here on the orders of Shakyamuni Buddha to pay my respects to the venerable monk."

Jin Chanzi clasped his hands together and bowed.

"Shakyamuni." After Jin Chanzi bowed, the person who appeared in Longyuan chuckled.

Within the Dragon Abyss, a faint aura flowed, concealing the presence of Jin Chanzi.

A moment later, a dragon maiden arrived at the edge of the Dragon Abyss with a magical treasure. After surveying the area with a look of confusion on her face, she left.

Seeing this scene, Jin Chanzi already had a guess about the identity of the person who had appeared in Longyuan.

What is Longyuan in the East China Sea?
This is the place where the Great Dragon God, who upholds Heaven and righteousness, attained enlightenment!
It is no different from its temple.

It goes without saying who is capable of manipulating the energy within the Dragon Abyss.

"It is said in the Buddhist community that the Great Dragon God who upholds justice and righteousness is not friendly to Buddhism." Jin Chanzi's eyes twitched incessantly.

This is not a Buddhist saying, but a consensus of heaven and earth!
But who would have thought...

But who would have thought...

What does it mean to deceive the heavens and cross the sea?
What we're doing now is a true deception!

The Great Dragon God Chengtian Bingyi, who was considered by everyone to be at odds with Buddhism, actually had an extremely close relationship with Buddhism!
Furthermore, each of them has an incarnation that belongs to Buddhism. Moreover, the robe worn by this incarnation is actually a part of the blue lotus banner!

How incredible!

“I understand Shakyamuni’s meaning.” A voice rang out from within Dragon Abyss.

—This light and shadow is none other than…

That is one of Ao Bing's incarnations.

Future Star Lord!

During the time of Yuan Tian, it forcibly pushed the time reversal and perished—but at the moment of its demise, its existence was retrieved from Yuan Tian by Ao Bing and brought back to Pan Tian.

Of course, its manifestation in Pantian does not exist in Pantian's 'present', but in Pantian's 'future'.

If Maitreya Buddha in Buddhism represents the future, then Ao Bing's incarnation, the Future Star Lord, exists directly in the future.

Listening to the words of the future Star Lord, Jin Chanzi kept his head down, his hands clasped together, and remained silent.

Before him, the Future Star Lord had already removed his cassock and was using his own vital energy as a brush.

"With Mara as the intermediary..."

"Tsk, Shakyamuni really has a lot of nerve."

As the future Star Lord looked at the robe spread out before him, the message that Shakyamuni had conveyed through the talisman when it manifested echoed in his mind.

Mara's chaotic teachings.

The intention is to pin the blame on Mara for the distortion and misinterpretation of some Buddhist scriptures.

This is to eliminate those Buddhist scriptures that are fundamentally flawed.

This is to eliminate those Buddhist disciples who attempt to distort the essence of Buddhism.

The purpose is to use Mara as a pretext to declare that countless monks in Buddhism have been corrupted by Mara's demonic influence—and Buddhism will use this calamity to cleanse itself of the corrupted parts and restore order to Buddhism.

Shakyamuni could do this, but he would absolutely not dare to announce it proactively.

The reason for this is quite simple.

Who is Mara?
Mara is the Demon King!
It is an incarnation of the Jade Pure Primordial Heavenly Venerable!
When Shakyamuni became the Buddha, it was Mara who manifested to test him with demonic magic.

The world only knows that Shakyamuni overcame Mara's trials and then became the Buddha—only Shakyamuni himself knew what kind of lessons his senior brother, who valued the 'Dharma' so much, had taught him during those trials!
Before entering the Buddhist order, the Jade Pure Primordial Heavenly Venerable had already summoned Daoist Duobao to Qilin Cliff to be punished for reasons such as his failure to manage the disciples of the Jie Sect.

After becoming the Buddha, Shakyamuni took charge of Buddhism—but during his time in power, the essence of Buddhism was distorted… Shakyamuni could easily imagine how angry his senior brother would be at him.

Normally, as a leader of the Buddhist community, that senior master, out of consideration for the relationship between Buddhism and Taoism, would not overstep his bounds and punish me...

But if Shakyamuni were to actively bring up the words of Mara who was corrupting the Dharma, and pin the blame for the distorted interpretation of the Buddha's teachings on Mara...

Therefore, the Jade Pure Primordial Heavenly Venerable, who has transformed into Mara, would definitely not mind giving Shakyamuni another demonic test, and properly teaching Shakyamuni what the true Dharma is!

But Ao Bing doesn't have such troubles.

Even in the eyes of those disciples of saints, Ao Bing was the quintessential 'other people's child'.

The sages of several families all showed a great fondness for Ao Bing.

Shakyamuni Buddha dared not compile teachings like those of Mara, who spread chaos, but Ao Bing did so without any apparent danger.

Both Ao Bing and Shakyamuni were well aware that although the saints in this world each had their own doctrines, stances, and even some selfish calculations, they all maintained a transcendent and almost absolute "universal justice" in the face of the most fundamental Dao of maintaining the order of heaven and earth, promoting the development of the primordial world, and sorting out the purity and turbidity of heaven and earth!
As long as what you do is fundamentally beneficial to heaven and earth, conducive to sorting out cause and effect, clarifying the universe, and promoting the normal operation of the calamity, then even if you borrow the name of a sage in the process, as long as this "borrowing" serves the fundamental goal of "benefiting heaven and earth", the sages will not only not care, but will even tacitly approve of the use of this "tool" in a transcendent manner.

This is the magnanimity and impartiality of a sage. However, the power of a sage is too vast, and their "indifference" does not mean that their incarnations or disciples would be "indifferent." In the world, those who truly have the courage, qualifications, and ability to act in the name of a sage are extremely rare.

Ao Bing, however, is the most confident and "favored" among these rare talents.

"Put it on Mara," Future Star Lord pondered, considering how he should write it.

After a long period of contemplation, the fingertip, which contained the trajectory of stars and the calamities of the future, finally fell, its tip like a pen, flowing across the robe.

Amitabha Buddha said:
When I pass away, a demon will appear as a monk.

There are beings like Mara, who wear my robes and appear as monks.

Entering my precious Sangha, destroying the banner of purity.
Misinterpreting the profound and subtle Dharma disrupts the boat of Prajna.

He broke his own vows and led others astray.
He takes the form of a monk, yet performs the deeds of Mara.

As the last stroke was made, the characters flowed with radiance on the robe, then became part of its own texture, as if they had existed there since time immemorial.

"Go."

"Go."

As the light from the fingertips of the Future Star Lord dissipated, his figure, formed from light and shadow, became illusory and transparent, like the reflection of a stone thrown into a lake, quickly blurring and disappearing into the dark Dragon Abyss before Jin Chanzi's eyes.

Only the robe with writing on it remained, which floated gently into Jin Chanzi's hands and was folded neatly.

Jin Chanzi glanced at the two characters 'Bo Xun' on the cassock and immediately turned his head away.

"Since there are monks in the human world who have been sent by the Emperor to Mount Ling to seek the Dharma, you should go and meet them and discuss the Buddha's teachings with them."

"Afterwards, he saw that this robe was given to him."

"This humble monk will obey the Dharma decree." Jin Chanzi tucked the cassock into his bosom.

The next instant, Jin Chanzi's figure appeared in another part of the East Sea.

He looked at the waves at his feet, and in a daze, it was almost like a dream. He couldn't tell whether his experience was real or just a fleeting dream.

As soon as Jin Chanzi appeared, those who were searching for him in the East Sea all headed towards his location.

"Jin Chanzi, you are a Buddhist, how dare you enter the East Sea without permission?" A true dragon, carrying the decree of the East Sea Dragon King, appeared directly in front of Jin Chanzi, blocking his way.

Everyone knew that Jin Chanzi had entered the East Sea with Shakyamuni's talisman, and that he must have some ulterior motive—and everyone wanted to know what Jin Chanzi's motive was.

But for the East Sea Dragon Clan, and for the East Sea Dragon King, they had absolutely no desire to know these things.

The reason is simple: whatever Jin Chanzi's plans are in the East China Sea, they will cause a storm in the East China Sea.
