Chapter 386 Attempting to Escape
Chapter 386 Attempting to Escape
Lin Feng's expression gradually turned serious, a flicker of wavering flashing in his eyes, but he quickly concealed it: "What do you want to know?"
"The matter of Jinhai Bay, and your relationship with Elder Deng." Su Hanze took a step closer, his gaze as sharp as a knife.
Lin Feng looked around and suddenly sneered, "You think you can force me out so easily? This is not something you can interfere with." Although his words were firm, they also revealed a hint of nervousness.
“We have no interest in playing cat and mouse games with you,” Su Hanze said coldly. “You either cooperate or you die.”
Lin Feng gritted his teeth, clearly not intending to give in easily: "If you really have the guts, then continue. Don't forget, Golden Bay is a place many people want to occupy."
Just then, footsteps sounded from the other end of the warehouse, and several dark figures gradually approached. Su Hanze frowned slightly, signaling Abiao and Yuxi to be alert.
"Looks like you've arrived, that's good." Lin Feng's lips curled into a sinister smile. "However, today might not go as smoothly as you imagine."
The warehouse entrance gradually filled with figures. Several people silently entered, guns in hand, their eyes cold and stern, as if they had already anticipated what would happen today. Su Hanze's eyes narrowed slightly, alarm bells ringing in his mind, and the tension in the air grew even heavier.
"Who do you think you are?" Lin Feng sneered, his provocation and disdain evident in his eyes.
Su Hanze didn't respond, only silently observing the figures entering. His mind was perfectly clear; the cigarette in his hand slowly burned out, the smoke spreading through the dim warehouse. He knew that things were now completely out of his control.
"A-Biao, Yu-Xi, get ready," Su Hanze said softly, his tone devoid of any panic, but rather revealing a calm decisiveness.
A-Biao gripped his knife tightly, watching the newcomers warily. He leaned against the wall, ready to act at any moment. Yu-Xi's hands had already silently reached for the pistol hidden in her pocket, her eyes no longer filled with doubt, but with a calm resolve.
However, the situation before them clearly did not allow them any hesitation. A tall, dark figure suddenly stepped out from the crowd, his arms slightly outstretched, clearly intending to make some provocative gesture.
"Listen, we're giving you a choice." The tall, dark figure's voice was deep and powerful, carrying an undeniable threat. "Leave behind what you want to know, get out of here, or..."
His voice trailed off abruptly, followed by a sudden gunshot. The entire warehouse descended into chaos instantly, the air thick with the smell of gunpowder, and shards of broken glass flying everywhere.
"Fire!" the dark figure roared, and several men swiftly drew their pistols, opening fire on Su Hanze's group without hesitation. Bullets flew through the air, striking their targets.
Su Hanze quickly dove to the ground, using the clutter in the warehouse as cover. Bullets grazed his head, sending sparks flying. His heartbeat didn't quicken; instead, it became steady. His eyes rapidly scanned his surroundings.
"Yu Xi! Abiao!" Su Hanze called out in a low voice.
"Don't worry, I'll handle it." Yu Xi had already rushed out, sliding along the wall and disappearing from sight in an instant. Her movements were swift and precise, making every effort to avoid revealing her location.
Ah Biao leaped up, his knife flashing like lightning as he slashed at the nearest shadowy figure. The blade cut into the man's ribs, and blood gushed out. The figure screamed and collapsed. Without hesitation, Ah Biao sheathed his knife and swiftly searched for his next target.
"Well done!" Su Hanze praised in a low voice, quickly dodging the incoming bullets. His eyes were fixed on Lin Feng, his heart filled with anger and resentment. The situation had exceeded his expectations, and things were becoming increasingly complicated.
Lin Feng stood to the side, his face ashen. He clearly hadn't expected Su Hanze and the others to be so tenacious, capable of launching a counterattack under these circumstances. This situation posed a significant threat to him.
"You can't win," Lin Feng said grimly, his deep voice seemingly squeezed out from between his teeth. "This is our territory."
“You don’t understand.” Su Hanze sneered, quickly drew his pistol, and almost without hesitation fired at a dark figure. The gunfire was almost incessant, each bullet hitting its target accurately.
The gunfight inside the warehouse lasted for several minutes, the air thick with the smell of gunpowder, the sound and vibrations filling the entire space. Despite the enemy's superior numbers and equipment, Su Hanze, A Biao, and Yu Xi reacted swiftly and decisively, showing almost no mercy in their response.
Suddenly, the warehouse door was flung open again, and more dark figures poured in. It seemed Lin Feng and his men had decided to completely take down Su Hanze's group. In that instant, the atmosphere in the warehouse reached its most tense moment.
"Let's find another place." While dodging the intense gunfire, Su Hanze quickly made a decision. "We need to get out of here."
"Understood." A-Biao had already run towards a corner and quickly jumped into another alley, with Su Hanze and Yu Xi following closely behind.
Gunshots continued to echo behind them. Su Hanze and Yu Xi followed closely, constantly moving through the warehouse, searching for cover. A Biao, on the other hand, temporarily increased the distance between them, clearly intending to buy them some time and give them enough space to escape.
"This alley won't work," Yu Xi said softly, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes. "We have to take a detour."
"You lead the way." Su Hanze did not hesitate and quickly adjusted the direction.
Just as they were trying to cross the side alley, a sudden burst of gunfire broke the silence once again. Yu Xi fell forward abruptly, her shoulder grazed and immediately bleeding profusely.
"Yuxi!" Su Hanze rushed over quickly, looking down at her injuries. "Are you alright?"
"It's alright." Yu Xi gritted her teeth and endured the pain, quickly drawing her pistol and pointing it at the enemy in the distance. "Keep going!" Her tone remained firm. Despite her severe injuries and the almost suffocating pain, she did not give up.
"Quick! We have to go!" Su Hanze frowned, grabbed Yu Xi's hand, and ran deeper into the alley. The gunfire behind them gradually intensified, almost closing in step by step.
After escaping into a secluded alley, Su Hanze finally stopped, panting as he looked around. The alley was lined with old, abandoned buildings, their walls covered in peeling paint and graffiti. The environment offered them temporary cover, but he knew they couldn't stay there for long.
"Where's Abiao?" Su Hanze asked.
“He hasn’t come back yet.” Yu Xi’s face was pale, and her wound was still bleeding, but she remained strong and calm. “I’m worried that he’ll be surrounded.”
Su Hanze stood at the alley entrance, gazing at the dark street that led nowhere. Behind him was Yu Xi, her face pale, clutching her gun and covering her wound, but her eyes showed no sign of retreat. Her gaze was resolute, as if all her pain was suppressed beneath her unwavering will. Su Hanze's heart raced. Although he remained outwardly calm, he knew—A Biao was still in the enemy's hands.
He didn't say anything more, his eyes quickly scanning the surroundings to determine the best escape route. Yu Xi's injuries forced him to prioritize her safety, but A Biao's situation filled him with anxiety. A Biao wasn't someone easily defeated, but facing so many heavily armed enemies, his chances of winning alone were clearly slim.
“You know I can’t abandon Abiao.” Su Hanze turned to look at Yu Xi, his eyes filled with undisguised determination.
Yu Xi looked at him, gritted her teeth, and a hint of helplessness flashed in her eyes. "I know," she said softly, her eyes filled with complex emotions, "but you also know that going back to save him might mean that we all die."
“Yes, but if we don’t go back, Abiao is doomed.” Su Hanze’s tone was icy. “I can’t just watch him die there.”
After a few seconds of silence, Yu Xi took a deep breath. The pain made her wince, but she didn't argue with Su Hanze. She knew that Su Hanze's decisions would never waver. Even if it meant death, he would stand at the forefront and do what he believed was right.
"Okay." She nodded, her tone reluctant, but she didn't object any further. "I know you won't listen to me."
“I can’t,” Su Hanze replied curtly, a deep, dark light in his eyes. “You wait here, I’ll go rescue Abiao.”
"Are you really planning to go by yourself?" Yu Xi's tone was somewhat anxious. "You can't handle so many people by yourself."
"Don't worry, I have a way." Su Hanze said no more and turned to walk to the other end of the street.
He walked with exceptionally steady steps, each footstep making a clear and powerful sound. Despite his anxiety, he knew that he had to remain calm in this crucial moment. Only by staying calm could he find a breakthrough and have a chance to turn the tide.
He stepped out of the alley, facing a dark street. There were few people around; the night shrouded everything, and the surroundings were deserted, as if the entire world had vanished into the shadows. Su Hanze calmly drew the pistol from his waist, quietly checked the magazine to make sure it was in good condition, then gripped the pistol tightly and walked towards the warehouse.
He knew the enemy wouldn't let them escape and would intensify their search. The place where Ah Biao was captured was surely already surrounded. But he didn't consider giving up, because his only thought was to rescue Ah Biao, no matter what.
After walking for less than five minutes, Su Hanze arrived near the warehouse where the gunfight had taken place. He stopped and hid behind an abandoned building, slowly observing his surroundings. He heard several footsteps, quickly crouched down, and squeezed into a dark corner against the wall. Through the gaps, he could clearly see several cars parked at the warehouse entrance, with several figures inside—clearly reinforcements sent by the enemy.
"Ah Biao," he murmured to himself, his gaze sweeping over the figures in the darkness, quickly pinpointing Ah Biao's location.
He saw a corner of the warehouse, and through the broken window, he could vaguely make out Ah Biao tied to a chair, surrounded by several dark figures holding weapons. Su Hanze's heart skipped a beat, and a ruthless glint flashed in his eyes. He knew that he had to act quickly and decisively, without wasting a single second.
He steadied his breathing, calming himself. Then, without hesitation, he darted out of his hiding place and ran quickly towards the warehouse. Every step was extremely careful, ensuring he made no sound. His target was the vigilant enemies; he knew that the longer it dragged on, the more they would see Ah Biao's life as a bargaining chip. He had to bring him back tonight, no matter what.
Two enemies stood guard at the warehouse entrance, clearly having noticed the anomaly and cautiously glancing around. Under the cover of darkness, Su Hanze silently approached one of them. Suddenly, he leaped up and kicked the enemy in the stomach, knocking him to the ground. The other enemy reacted, hastily turning and raising his gun, but Su Hanze swiftly turned and kicked him in the knee, causing the gun to deflect and emit a soft ring of fire. With that sound, Su Hanze pounced, snatched the pistol from the enemy, and pressed it against his chest.
"Where did you take him?" Su Hanze asked in a low voice, his eyes coldly fixed on the enemy.
A flicker of fear crossed the enemy's eyes, and his lips trembled slightly, but he still whispered, "Basement, get out of here." With that, he shoved Su Hanze aside and tried to escape.
Su Hanze gave him no chance to react, the muzzle of his gun pressed tightly against the enemy's neck, and said coldly, "You tried to escape, you deserve to die." After saying that, he kicked the enemy in the back, pushing him directly to the ground.
With no time to waste, Su Hanze quickly ventured deeper into the warehouse and found the stairs leading to the basement. The stairs were covered in dust, clearly rarely used, but the sounds from downstairs grew clearer. Su Hanze held his breath, taking each step softly, trying not to make a sound.
The basement door was locked. Su Hanze quickly swung the toolbox from his waist and picked the lock. He didn't push the door open immediately, but instead quietly observed the activity inside. The light inside was dim, and several armed figures were standing in a corner, discussing something.
"Ah Biao!" Su Hanze saw Ah Biao tied to a pillar, his face pale and his lips slightly purple, but he hadn't lost consciousness yet. Although his eyes were weak, he was still alert. Seeing this, Su Hanze breathed a slight sigh of relief.
But he knew he had to act quickly. The enemy was on guard, and the longer it dragged on, the more likely they were to resort to extreme measures.
Su Hanze forcefully pushed open the basement door, his pistol already pointed at the enemy who was about to attack. "Try moving!"
