Chapter 31 New Song
"Ladies and gentlemen, let's give a round of applause to welcome the latest live performance of Dr. Ray, the up-and-coming DJ who just gave a wonderful performance at the famous Florida music festival ULTRA!" the host, dressed in a suit and tuxedo, said loudly.

There was sparse applause at the scene and following the spotlight, Ryan and Joel could be seen walking slowly to the center of the nightclub stage in white suits. Their attire made them look like band players from the 1930s. Although it was retro and gorgeous, it didn't quite match the DJ, or the electronic music.

Ryan even walked like a puppet, with a stiff posture.

"This suit is too small for him." Abigail couldn't help but say as she was sinking into a soft and comfortable sofa not far from the stage.

Taylor, who was sitting next to her, was holding a goblet. In the flat cone-shaped cup, in addition to the cocktail, there was a cherry hanging on the edge.

"They're in the wrong place." Taylor took a sip of his cocktail.

The environment here is much better than previous nightclubs, with indoor fountains, art appreciation, live instrumental performances, and a large terrace overlooking the entire Nashville night view. This is one of the best high-end private clubs in Nashville.

As Ryan's first show after changing jobs, Abigail of course chose to be there to support him, and unsurprisingly, she brought Taylor along.

As for Ryan's performance, unsurprisingly no one paid any attention to it. People here like violin, waltz and jazz, not two young men shaking their heads.

"Maybe we can try an electronic music that is both classical and modern, giving the audience an experience beyond time and space!" Ryan said to Joel while drinking a can of Coke after finishing his performance.

"As far as I know, there is only one electronic music group that has the potential to produce this kind of music - Daft Punk. They are not DJs, they are real artists. As for us, I think we should think about how to keep our jobs." Joel shook his head and woke Ryan up from his daydream with words.

With the recommendation of Joel's colleague, the two got the opportunity to perform in this nightclub, and the performance price was directly increased several times! And it only took 30 minutes to perform.

It seemed like the conditions were much better than the previous one, but after the performance Ryan realized that it was not the case at all.

In addition to the mismatch in style, the repertoire they "performed" was also strictly limited. The nightclub only allowed the two of them to play electronic music that suited the style of the place. Unable to play their "masterpieces", Ryan could only learn from Tiesto and remix classical music, but the result was so weird that not only the audience but even he himself couldn't stand listening to it.

At this moment he understood that the only reason he was here was because he had performed at the Ultra Music Festival, and it didn't matter who he was.

"Why are you thinking of these weird ideas these days? You should continue to explore the big room style. Those fans on Myspace are still waiting for your new work." Joel reminded.

Ryan is troubled by this problem. Since he got a piece of electronic music a month ago, the sense of deja vu has never appeared again.

The two of them walked through a corridor and came to the entrance of the nightclub. Ryan saw Abigail waving at him from a distance. Ryan and his partner had finished their work and had the rest of the night as they pleased. They could go home or entertain friends.

"Hey, Joel." Taylor greeted Joel but just glanced at Ryan.

On the other side, Ryan and Abigail seemed much more intimate.

"Hey." Taylor forced a smile.

To liven up the atmosphere, Abigail brought up some gossip about a female cheerleader at school.

"She wears sexy short skirts every day. You know there's no obstruction when she's in class, and someone keeps dropping pencils, erasers, etc. during the whole class..."

"Let me guess what she looks like." Joel became interested.

"She has black hair, is always surrounded by perfume, puts on makeup between classes, and always speaks with a fake California accent, even though she has never been to the West Coast in her life."

Abigail and Joel then burst into laughter.

Ryan and Taylor just echoed the conversation, showing no interest in the topic at all.

"Abigail, what did you think of the music we played? I used a brand new bass drum." Ryan tried to talk about his music.

"You brought the drum up there?" Abigail asked in confusion. "Uh... no." Ryan looked a little embarrassed.

Oh, maybe when aliens are discovered on Earth someday, they will have the same communication scene? Taylor smiled secretly, thinking that Ryan and Abigail were on two completely different channels.

Just at the moment when the thought came to mind, Taylor's head suddenly buzzed.

"Hold on, hold on..." Taylor began to open her handbag in a hurry. She even tore the zipper because she was so anxious, and then she started to rummage through the bag.

The strange reaction caused the other three to look at her. Joel and Ryan were confused, but Abigail was not surprised: "Here comes that!"

what is that?
Taylor took out a small notebook from her handbag, then a ballpoint pen from her bag, and wrote a series of notes on the messy paper under the dim lights of the nightclub.

Taylor's posture of holding a pen is very special. He holds the pen between his index and middle fingers. It is obvious that he did not develop good habits when he was a child.

Taylor wrote a few sentences, crossed them out when he felt dissatisfied, wrote a few more sentences on top, and then turned to the next page.

From time to time he would raise his head, hum a few times, and tap the glass table with his pen to keep rhythm.

"Cool!" Joel also became excited and swayed to the rhythm of the scene.

"Tyler's coming." He said the same to Ryan.

What are you talking about? Ryan was the only one who was still confused.

A few minutes passed like this, and Taylor temporarily put down the ballpoint pen.

"Although it's just a prototype, it already has a rough outline." Taylor read the contents on the paper.

"You're on the phone with your girlfriend and she doesn't sound happy.

It seems that it was because of your inappropriate joke.

But she doesn't understand your humor as well as I do."

"She likes to wear sexy short skirts

I'm just a plain T-shirt

She is the dazzling cheerleader

I am just an inconspicuous person in the audience

Dreaming your own dreams, imagining that one day, you will wake up and find
You will find that the person you have been looking for is never far away, but right beside you..."

Taylor sang the chorus directly to the three of them halfway through the song, looking at one of them intentionally or unintentionally.

"If you want, you can see that I am the one who truly understands you

I have been silently by your side. Why don't you want to look back and see me?
you belong With Me
You belong to me..."
