Chapter 28 Potions Class
Chapter 28 Potions Class
"Wuhu! I've finally finished copying!" Ron threw down the quill in his hand, looking like he had won a battle. "Ivy! Your quill is really amazing! It's almost like quoting from classics! Now we can play wizard chess in the common room, Harry?"
However, neither Harry nor Ivy could answer his question, because the three were thrown out of the library by Madam Pince who came rushing over after hearing the noise, and she also threatened them: if she heard them making loud noises in the library again, she would definitely call their respective deans!
"Sorry..." Harry scratched his messy head and looked at Ivy with a little apology, "We got you kicked out as well..."
"It's okay. It's almost time for dinner. I was going to the cafeteria anyway." Ivy packed up his things and said goodbye to the two of them. "Then, see you in Potions class tomorrow."
"We will have Potions class tomorrow morning together with Slytherin. It is said that Professor Snape has a bad reputation, so we must be mentally prepared." Ron, who has three older brothers attending school, always has extra sources of information. "So what do we do now? Should we find a place to play wizard chess first, or..."
The door of the library was opened again, and a little witch with messy hair walked out. When she saw Ron's face, she began to spit wildly: "Ivy's magic is so advanced, but he is still studying hard in the library. But what about you two? You shamelessly copied his Transfiguration paper and even caused him to be kicked out of the library! As a member of Gryffindor, I am really ashamed of you!"
"Hey! Ivy doesn't mind it himself!" Although Ron knew he was wrong, he still didn't want to admit defeat, "Besides, we've already apologized!"
"Harry did apologize!" Hermione just wanted to scold him, especially after Ron did something so outrageous (referring to making loud noises in the library), "but you? I'm sorry, I don't see any guilt on your face."
Hermione turned around and walked away angrily, taking away Ron's good mood because he had completed the Transfiguration homework ahead of schedule. So Ron made a face at Hermione's back.
Harry's mood also worsened.
The library door opened again, and this time Malfoy and his two bodyguards came out.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk... It seems that Gryffindor is not very united?" Malfoy still spoke in a slow tone, "Have you learned a lesson from this, Harry Potter? By the way, I am looking forward to your performance in Potions class tomorrow morning. I hope I don't end up in the school hospital because of laughing so hard."
"It's none of your business." Harry stared at him coldly. He found that Slytherin, except Ivy, were a bunch of annoying people.
"Really? But I don't think so..." Malfoy shook his head and walked towards the dining room, while Harry and Ron's bad mood continued until the next morning.
During breakfast, Harry's snowy owl Hedwig brought him a scribbled note, inviting them to the cottage for tea.
This incident alleviated Harry's bad mood to a certain extent, and he quickly wrote back to Hagrid in the same not-so-good handwriting, telling Hagrid that he would go.
When Hedwig flew out of the hall with the note, Harry's eyes followed her and stayed at the Slytherin table for a while. As expected, he saw Ivy sitting there with empty seats on both sides.
What's strange is that there is a cat with shiny black fur standing on the dining table in front of Ivy, and Ivy is playing with it with fried fish.
But Harry didn't remember Ivy telling others on the train that he had a pet cat. Maybe that cat belonged to Hogwarts? "Harry Potter." That was Professor Snape calling the roll. When he called Harry, he stopped and stared at Harry's eyes with an uncomfortable look. "Yes... our famous figure."
Fortunately, Snape didn't continue, otherwise Harry's uncomfortable feeling would have worsened.
Snape threw the roll call aside and said in a low voice: "Potions, this is a very precise and strict subject. I have no doubt that those clumsy wizards will mess up everything in the classroom."
He looked around the classroom. As the youngest head of Slytherin, his voice, which was just above a whisper, could still reach everyone's ears, because all the students dared not even breathe.
"Since there are no foolish waving of wands here, many of you will not believe that this is magic. I don't expect you to truly appreciate the beauty of the simmering cauldron with white smoke and bursts of fragrance. You will not truly understand the magical power of the liquid flowing into people's veins, making people's hearts and minds excited and confused. I can teach you how to improve your reputation, brew glory, and even prevent death - but there must be one thing, that is, you are not the kind of fools I often meet."
Harry saw Ivy look back at him, which made him feel uneasy for no reason.
"Potter!" His panicky feeling came true, Professor Snape was calling his name!
So Harry reluctantly stood up, only to hear Snape continue: "What would I get if I added powdered narcissus root to the wormwood infusion?"
"I don't know, Professor." What else could he say besides that? For a moment, Harry regretted not memorizing the entire Potions textbook.
Snape sneered contemptuously: "Tsk - it seems that fame is not everything."
Then, Harry answered Snape's subsequent questions with two "I don't know", and after receiving two different ridicules, he felt that Snape looked satisfied.
Harry was almost certain that Snape was targeting Gryffindor on purpose. Not only did he completely ignore Hermione's raised arm, he also deducted one point from Gryffindor using the excuse of "not preparing in advance".
The Potions class continued, but the situation of the Gryffindor students did not change at all.
When they were divided into pairs and followed the steps on the blackboard to make the potion in the crucible, Harry was surprised to find that Ivy made the potion without using her hands.
Snape noticed this as well, but he just curled his lips in disgust.
"Keep your eyes on your own cauldron, Mr. Potter!" Although there was a distance between them, Snape still noticed Harry's absent-mindedness, and then what followed was -
"Gryffindor will lose one point because Mr. Potter was absent from class!"
