Chapter 37: Defeat Your Weapon

Chapter 37: Defeat Your Weapon (Physical)
"Malfoy!" Harry exclaimed immediately after he walked out of the room because he saw someone he didn't expect.

Malfoy kicked the ice that froze Filch, and said in an arrogant and superior tone: "Oh. Isn't this the Potter we have been chasing all the way? It seems that you know to stop?"

Looking at his expression, he seemed to have completely forgotten that he was the one who brought Filch here.

"Why are you here?" Ron was also surprised. He was just thinking that it was all Malfoy's fault for breaking the appointment, otherwise they would not have been chased by Filch in the castle for so long.

"Why am I here?" Malfoy repeated Ron's question, shaking his head, and then let out a heavy breath through his nose, "Humph. If you have enough brains, duel assistant, then you should know why I'm here!"

"Thank you, Ivy." Unlike the boys, Hermione was shyly thanking Ivy. "If it weren't for you, we would have been in that dog's stomach now."

As she spoke, Hermione quickly glanced at Filch and Peeves on the ground, revealing a conflicted look: "But what should we do now? If we leave them here, maybe the whole castle will start searching for the murderer tomorrow..."

"Don't worry." Ivy pointed his wand at the ice block on the ground and said, "Oblivion is all."

"I'm also a little knowledgeable about memory spells. I'll send them back to where they should be and remove the freezing effect on them. They'll just think they were in a trance for a moment." Ivy used magic to make the ice cubes on the ground float up. "Of course, someone might catch a cold. But don't worry, no one will be deducted points for this."

Neville and Hermione looked relieved, and the latter said, "I must say, thank you very much. Otherwise we would have probably already started packing our bags and preparing to leave Hogwarts."

Neville was tongue-tied and couldn't say anything nice, so he could only nod vigorously, which was probably equivalent to "Me too", right?

"Well." Ron swallowed. "Although we just escaped from the dog's mouth, maybe you have other things to do, Harry."

"What?" Harry was shocked. "Here? You must be crazy."

"Big dog?" Malfoy asked. "Is there a dog behind the door?"

"Yes." Harry nodded in shock, "A huge dog with three heads, almost filling the entire room."

Even though Malfoy had always lived in the magical world, it was the first time he heard of such a strange creature. His curiosity almost jumped out of his eyes, and he kept looking behind Ivy.

"Forget it, Malfoy." Ron waved his hand. "Your small body is not enough to fill the gap between his teeth, and he has three heads! You might as well think about what magic to use in the next duel with Harry."

"Duel?" Hermione's voice was in the highest octave. "You still want to duel?"

"What else?" Harry pulled his wand from Hermione's hand. Hermione had used his wand to cast an unlocking spell when they broke into the door before. "Isn't that what we are here for?"

"Of course not!" Hermione looked furious. "I was trying to stop you from breaking the school rules!"

"Since this duel has nothing to do with you, please get out of the way, Granger." Although Malfoy felt a little regretful that he couldn't see the three-headed dog in person, he quickly returned to his previous attitude of looking down on people, "Ivy, can you help us make room?" "Ivy! Thank you for saving our lives." Harry and Ron, the two young men, only remembered to thank their savior now, "But... why are you here?"

Ivy waved his wand, and the floor in the corridor rose immediately, forming a platform slightly above the ground. A cyan patterned carpet also appeared on the platform, just like the standard venue for wizard duels.

"I invited Ivy here." Malfoy swaggered to the side of the stage, "as a witness to my victory and the referee of the duel. Of course, for you, Potter, he is the witness of failure."

"Ivy is fine," Ron whispered in Harry's ear. "At least we don't have to worry about him favoring Malfoy, but I just don't understand why he would get involved with Malfoy... But right now, the duel is the most important thing... Remember what I said before? About wizard duels?"

Harry understood what Ron meant. As wizards, their spellcasting abilities were still too weak. They couldn't wield magic as freely as Ivy. At most, they could release some sparks. So what Harry had to do was to throw down his wand and give Malfoy a hard blow.

Although the Gryffindor quartet was able to survive thanks to Malfoy bringing Ivy, Harry would never forget that he wanted to knock himself off his broom yesterday.

Harry nodded slightly, holding his wand and walking to the other side of the platform, then set his sights on Ivy and waited for him to say start.

Hermione, who had witnessed everything that happened, had almost lost the ability to be angry. Everything in front of her was desperately challenging her bottom line.

Dueling in the corridor after curfew violated nearly a hundred school rules, not to mention the fact that they knocked over a lot of armor in the trophy room, and Ivy even used magic to freeze Filch in ice on their way here.

But Hermione didn't have much time to savor the moment. After Ivy confirmed that the little wizards on both sides of the stage were ready, he used his wand to release a small golden firework.

Harry and Malfoy immediately understood that this was the signal to start a war, so they both took action at the same time.

"Expelliarmus--" Malfoy had secretly memorized this spell because he had witnessed Ivy killing everyone in the common room on the first day of school.

But since he had not received any special training, he thought it would be better to pronounce it clearly. However, he had just uttered the third syllable when he saw a magic wand flying past him.

"Brilliant!" he thought. "I've managed to disarm Potter! I'm the champion!"

But before Malfoy could imagine how he would brag about this to everyone after dawn, a sharp pain in his nose interrupted his daydream.

Less than two weeks had passed since the start of the school year, and Harry had learned very little magic. Apart from being able to successfully perform the Sparkling Charm that Professor Flitwick had taught him in Charms class, he couldn't even perform a second spell.

So he simply threw his wand as a prop to attract attention, and then hit Malfoy on the nose with his clenched fist.
