Chapter 62 Finding Bigfoot
Chapter 62 Finding Bigfoot
Crookshanks first took a leisurely walk around the school, moving lightly through every corner of the school with elegant and agile steps.
The ginger figure sometimes flashed under the corridor, and sometimes stopped for a moment in the garden, as if searching carefully for an important target.
This time, it did not return to Hermione as usual, but walked straight out of the Hogwarts gate.
"Sure enough." Wes thought to himself. He knew that this time, tracking Crookshanks would definitely yield something.
Once outside the school, Crookshanks' pace increased significantly. He would stop from time to time and sniff the air carefully, trying to pick up the slightest odor. At the same time, he would look around cautiously, maintaining a high level of alertness.
Soon after, Crookshanks arrived in front of a dilapidated house. He stood there quietly, wagging his tail gently, and barked twice towards the inside of the house.
"Woof~Woof~" Two loud responses soon came from the house.
Then, a huge dog with a pitch-black body walked out of the dilapidated house. Although it looked huge, it was very skinny, with every rib clearly visible, and it looked like it had suffered a lot.
Its hair was messy and had lost its former luster.
"Meow~meow~"
"Wang~wang~"
The cat and the dog seemed to be communicating with each other.
The black dog's eyes revealed an almost human-like loss, and it lowered its head, looking very depressed. Crookshanks gently rubbed the black dog's big head, as if to comfort it.
At this time, Weiss lifted the Disillusionment Spell and appeared in front of the cat and the dog.
They were stunned at first, and then their hair stood up instantly like sharp thorns. They roared loudly at Weiss, full of hostility towards this uninvited guest.
"Nice to meet you, Padfoot, or rather, Sirius."
The big black dog was stunned at first. He hadn't heard this name for a long time. This familiar yet unfamiliar name made a complex emotion surge in his heart.
But it still instinctively chose to defend itself. It bared its sharp teeth and prepared to pounce on Wes.
"I know Peter Pettigrew is still alive, and I also know you've been wrongly accused." Weiss's words resonated like thunder in Sirius's heart. Sirius's mind went blank for a moment, and he was unable to react for a moment, his face filled with disbelief.
"Wang~"
"Wang~"
It barked anxiously at Wes, as if explaining something important.
I can't understand dog language, you can change back to human form first." Weiss shrugged, looking helpless.
The big black dog curled up into a ball, and then its body began to deform, gradually turning into a tall adult man.
He was wearing tattered clothes, the original color and style had long disappeared. His greasy and dirty long hair and messy beard almost covered most of his face. He looked more like a homeless person than a tramp, with only a pair of deep gray eyes exposed.
"Who are you...what...do you know?" Sirius spoke in a halting manner, perhaps because he had not communicated with anyone for a long time, or perhaps because he was too weak.
"Before we discuss this, I think you need some nutrition first," Weiss said, waving his wand lightly, and a picnic tablecloth appeared on the ground.
Then, various foods such as bread, milk, fruit, steak, etc. appeared on the tablecloth one after another, exuding an enticing aroma.
Sirius swallowed his saliva involuntarily. Ever since escaping from prison, he had either rummaged through trash cans for food or hunted small animals like mice to barely fill his stomach. It had been a long time since he had tasted such a sumptuous meal. However, he remained highly wary of Weiss. He didn't know why this stranger was helping him.
"Don't worry, poisoning a wizard without a wand is not necessary. If I really wanted to capture you, I would have informed the Ministry of Magic long ago, and the Dementors would have been the ones who came."
Sirius' body shuddered involuntarily at the word "Dementor".
However, what Weiss said did make sense. From Sirius's interactions with Weiss, he did not feel any malice from the other party.
So, he picked up a piece of bread and stuffed it into his mouth with trembling hands. In less than three seconds, he had swallowed the bread.
After that, he couldn't wait to grab a piece of steak and stuff it into his mouth. Before he even swallowed it, he stuffed a piece of bread into it. As a result, he choked and rolled his eyes.
He quickly picked up a can of milk and drank it, spilling it all over himself. After finally swallowing the food in his mouth, he began to stuff his mouth with food again, making a mess on the tablecloth.
While eating, Sirius suddenly burst into tears, with tears and snot flowing together.
These foods made him feel the long-lost warmth, and the pain and grievance in his heart also emerged.
Weiss didn't interrupt him, but just stood there quietly, letting him vent his emotions.
Crookshanks jumped into Sirius's arms, meowing softly. Sirius handed a piece of meat pie to Crookshanks' mouth: "Thank you for your hard work. I don't know what I would do without you."
This tough guy, who had not shed a tear even though he was wrongly imprisoned and tortured by Dementors in Azkaban for many years, was now in tears.
His tears contained too many emotions: pain, grievance, gratitude, and lingering hope.
Sirius wiped his tears and looked at Weiss: "How did you know Crookshanks was helping me?"
Weiss handed the Marauder's Map to Sirius.
Sirius gently stroked the parchment. The familiar touch reminded him of the past.
"The Marauder's Map you created fell into the hands of the Weasley twins, and it just so happened that they were going to..." Wes unrolled the excuse he had prepared in advance. "Crookshanks's purpose was too obvious, and he disdained other mice. So I suspected someone was behind it, but I didn't expect it to be you."
Weiss's reasons actually had many loopholes, but Sirius's brain was not working well enough at that time and he didn't notice them.
"I see. I didn't expect that the props I used to play a prank on me would help me again."
Sirius looked at the Marauder's Map and fell into reminiscence.
"What are your plans next?" Weiss interrupted his thoughts.
"Of course, we have to catch that traitor Pettigrew," Sirius's eyes became fierce, "I want him to confess everything he has done."
"How to catch it?"
"Crookshanks did a great job, he almost caught the mouse," said Sirius confidently. "If we give him a little more time, he'll definitely catch Pettigrew."
Crookshanks raised his head proudly when he heard Sirius approve of it.
"Just because I said your Animagus form is a dog doesn't mean your brain has become a dog's brain too." Weiss looked at Sirius speechlessly.
"What do you mean???" Wes's words made Sirius a little confused, and he obviously didn't understand what Wes meant.
