Mystery: When the Fool Meets the Masked Fool

Chapter 46 Catching Cats Offline

Chapter 46 Catching Cats Offline
That evening, at Count Wolfe's banquet, Backlund's most dazzling jewels attended in their finest attire. Because the banquet was not formal, Susie was allowed to accompany Audrey.

But this was a banquet organized by the Earl after all. Although Susie was allowed to cooperate, she was not allowed to enter the banquet hall and could only stay in Earl Wolf's back garden.

In this way, Susie, carrying an exquisite little bag, left the garden and stayed with Count Wolfe's hound.

The party quickly ended, and Audrey returned home, pulling a package from Susie's shoulder bag. She eagerly opened it and took out the items inside. On top was a letter, and underneath was a small 24-sided die, a soft tube of toothpaste, less than the size of a palm, and a pure white tooth wrapped in red silk.

Audrey glanced at her teeth with a slightly puzzled look, and first opened the letter that was obviously addressed to her. It was written in a cursive handwriting with circles within circles. Audrey could tell that this was Mr. Albus's specialty.

"Hello, beautiful Miss Justice:
Although I cannot really see you through the gray fog, I believe that you must be quite outstanding in appearance.

This package contains the promised treasures, and the tooth is a gift from me. It's called the 'Pure Spirit of Beauty.' I predicted it would be helpful to you in the future, so I took it upon myself to give it to you as a gift.

I don't know if you'd be comfortable touching a stranger's teeth, so I've wrapped it in a transparent film. You don't need to carry it around with you; it's always there when you need it."

The signature is a smiley face.

Audrey observed carefully and found that there was indeed a transparent film on the teeth. She found a place to hide the three strange objects.

A day later, at the entrance of the Fortune Teller Club, Ceres appeared out of nowhere without anyone noticing.

He walked briskly into the Fortune Teller Club. Ms. Angelica at the front desk greeted him with a smile:
"Sir, do you want to have your fortune told or join our club?"

"I'm here for divination," Cerus replied. "Someone recommended me to see Mr. Klein Moretti."

Angelica peeked toward the stairs and walked over to the sofa. "Mr. Klein Moretti is currently reading for other guests. Please wait a moment."

"Okay." Serris smiled and nodded, sitting down on the sofa.

"What would you like to drink? We have..."

Cerus took out a bottle and shook it, indicating that he had brought a drink. Angelica also retreated behind the counter upon seeing this.

After a while, a woman in her thirties wearing a blue stand-up collar dress came down from the second floor with a young woman wearing a lotus leaf hat. Angelica introduced them to Ceres, "Those two are Mr. Klein's current guests. Perhaps it will be your turn soon."

The younger woman lowered her head, her brows downcast. The older woman, on the other hand, occasionally offered words of comfort as they walked along. After the two left, Angelica brought Ceres to the door of the Citrine Room on the second floor.

"Mr. Klein is in this room." Angelica said with a fake business smile.

"Thank you." Ceres smiled back, handed Angelica a soli as a tip, and then pushed the door open and walked in.

In the Citrine Room, Klein sat across from him. "Hello, Mr. Klein." Serris pulled out a chair and sat in front of Klein.

"Hello, sir." Klein pretended not to know Ceris.

But the next second, Serris's words directly ruined Klein's pretense.

"Mr. Klein, do you know Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun?"

Klein was so frightened that he nearly jumped out of his chair. He was about to say something when Ceris interrupted him. He reached out and stopped Klein, saying, "I don't know what this means, but since you do, I guess I've found the right person."

Serris took out a portrait and compared it with Klein. "Hmm, very similar." After saying that, he turned the portrait in his hand to face Klein.

Klein took a look and saw a black cat wearing a top hat. "How...how did you know it was mine?"

Serris withdrew his hand and compared them carefully: "They are very similar."

"Is this portrait of me?"

"It's you."

"Really?" Klein was still skeptical.

"Yes." Serris was very sure. "Back then, you were still very thin."

"This isn't me."

"I didn't expect you to be able to match the lines. It seems you've also seen Russell's 'Let the Bullets Fly.'"

Klein suddenly had the urge to cover his face.

"Never mind. It's not important." Ceres put away the portrait and took out a sealed envelope. "Mr. Klein, I'd like you to take a look at this letter."

Klein took it, and Serris explained, "This is a letter left by one of our predecessors two hundred years ago. It says that two hundred years from now, we'll find the fortune teller who knows the meaning of 'Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun' in the painting. Give the letter to him. That means you. Only the person predicted by the founder can open this letter. Give it a try. It won't hurt you."

"But I still feel like that painting isn't me," Klein muttered as he took the letter. The other party had already mentioned "Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun," so he couldn't help but take it seriously.

If I hoped my book would be a hit before out of vanity, now I hope it's because I want more people to see the guy who was playing the politically correct game and spreading obscene rumors in my comment section. That guy called "Xuan Zi." Although he deleted his post and ran away, he still hasn't deleted a few of his comments. You really should go check it out; it still makes me a little angry. Before, I was amused when he called my book shit, because it's normal for miHoYo fans to attract haters. Then, out of nowhere, he started spreading obscene and rare rumors. Honestly, I don't understand. Have the current MiHoYo haters become so shameless?
