Chapter 211 A Miracle Will Surely Happen
As soon as Justin stepped out of the house, he irresponsibly clutched his stomach. He was hungry again.

"Wasn't this incredibly irresponsible of me?" Justin thought to himself. Then, glancing at the store he had just visited, he clutched his purse tightly and strode over.

It must be said that even the most unpalatable black bread can be enjoyed with affection by a starving person. A simple example is Justin. He would immediately bite into several pieces of the black bread he had just bought without even drinking water.

As he ate his bread, the streets became quieter. At least there weren't as many police officers now. In Justin's eyes, the current police were like the Japanese during their invasion of China. Justin hadn't studied this part of history much, but he had heard these things from Chinese students studying at school.

It wasn't really his business, but hearing about those cruel acts made even Justin, a foreigner, furious. He wasn't inherently a kind person, but he loathed this kind of behavior: bullying the weak and taking advantage of the powerful.

Police officers, whose duty is to maintain order, are instead being used by these officers to conduct trials—unjustly, no less. Justin shook his head. What right did a time traveler like him have to concern himself with such matters?
The police station was quite a distance from his home, which was why Natalie chose this place as her residence. The existence of their church clearly posed a threat to that so-called Celestial Cult. Only a fool would live with their enemy!

Therefore, Justin came to the conclusion that the people in this world are at least of normal intelligence! Of course, there are some people he doesn't know about, just like he had seen fools in his previous life.

Justin braced himself against the wall. The body he had transmigrated into wasn't in good physical condition; although he had blond hair and blue eyes, his features were rather thin. He was tall, but lacked strength.

Overall, Justin was quite satisfied with his body. At least this guy's body wasn't nearsighted. Back in the day, Justin's eyes had been accidentally left at home; during a school field trip, he couldn't even spot a piece of firewood. It was only after a classmate pointed it out that he realized it was right under his feet.

That incident was one of Justin's few embarrassing moments.

Justin clutched his chest, panting heavily. But after walking for so long, they weren't far from the police station. Justin looked around and spotted a shop not far away.

Justin went over and bought a bottle of water. As he came out, someone tugged at the hem of Justin's coat. Justin turned around and saw a woman in tattered clothes.

The woman wasn't an old lady, but a girl in her late teens or early twenties. She was very pretty, comparable to his younger sister Natalie. Justin felt a gentle warmth towards this naturally beautiful girl.

"Hello, what can I do for you? Amen?" Justin still used the signature language of the Horn Continent. The girl also spoke, her voice very pure, "Amen, would you like a divination? The fee is not high, only five Horns will be enough."

"I have to spend money again?" Justin thought to himself that he didn't want to spend a single penny on anything improper. "Never mind, I didn't bring any money. Thank you, Amen!"

What a waste of a chance to strike up a conversation! Justin shook his head, but then the girl suddenly spoke up, "Amen, I... can give you a free fortune telling without charging you."

"Oh, thank you very much, Amen!" Justin returned and squatted down in front of the girl. The girl nodded, and a deck of tarot cards appeared in her hand. Her slender hands moved nimbly, and the cards flipped rapidly with his fingers.

"Shuffle the cards." The girl handed the cards to Justin, who was taken aback, knowing this was basic common sense in divination. Justin scratched his head and began to cut the cards with his delicate fingers.

Having done this, Justin handed the cards to the girl, who smiled mysteriously. "Sir, what would you like to divine?" "Hmm, will things go smoothly from here on out?" Justin said. The girl nodded and began to draw cards.

The three cards were the Hermit, Death, and the Chariot. Justin was pondering when suddenly a gunshot rang out behind him. Justin turned around in surprise and saw a young policeman standing behind him, his raised revolver steaming.

Then came the sound of something heavy falling to the ground. The pretty girl collapsed against the wall, a pool of blood flowing down the wall, and a small bullet hole was clearly imprinted on her chest.

"Hiss!" Justin stood up trembling with fright. The young policeman came over and helped Justin up. "Amen, sir, are you alright?"

"Yes, I'm fine." Justin looked at the policeman, who appeared to be in his early twenties, but in Justin's eyes, he seemed like a demon. Justin panicked. The policeman grinned. "Sir, don't be nervous. This woman is one of our targets. She's bad and will mislead you."

Finally, the policeman, who had been wearing a bright smile, suddenly gave a sinister laugh. "By the way, sir, civilians should be at work at this hour. Are you... going to the police station?"

"Um, I... I'm going to..." Justin hadn't figured out what to say about going to the police station yet; after all, his mental fortitude wasn't entirely up to par, at least not in front of these murderers.

“Going for a job interview, huh? Haha! I finally landed one! Amen! Sir, please come with me. Don’t worry, no one will dare to cause you trouble. Look at the gun in my hand! In this world, ability is the most important thing!” the young man laughed. Justin nodded and wiped away his cold sweat.

"Sir, let's go," the young man said. The two then braved the snow and took a shortcut.

When the two arrived at the police station, Justin was clearly not as physically fit as the younger man. The younger man laughed, "Brother, you're no good! If you want to be a cop, physical fitness is crucial to staying alive!"

"You can die if you're a cop?" Justin was surprised. The young man nodded. "It's easy to die. Come on, I'll take you to the sheriff."

The police station had a retro feel, with a metal contraption emitting steam above it. Justin wondered if there was a factory inside the police station. The young man smiled. "That's for exhaust fumes. You're probably looking for the steam engine factory, right? It's on Mosley Street in the east of town. I've been there."

"What are you going there for?" Justin asked.

“Go kill someone,” the young man said casually. “Oh, by the way, after all this talk, I haven’t even asked your name yet. My name is Bentel.”

Justin thought for a moment, then said firmly, "My name is Pelléas!"
