A farming master in Stardew Valley

Chapter 67: Persistent Abigail

Chapter 67: Persistent Abigail

"???"

After hearing Abigail’s decision, Leon was stunned for a long time before confirming: “You said you want to be with me tomorrow?”

“Yeah.” Abigail nodded, her eyes fixed on Leon’s stunned face: “Are you touched?”

"No, I just think it's troublesome." Leon rolled his eyes speechlessly and complained to Abigail: "I'm not going there for fun, I really have something to do, and the Calico Desert is not a fun place. Why are you joining in the fun?"

"Of course I can't bear to see you taking a long detour and traveling for a whole day. If you drive yourself, you can go directly from Stardew Valley to the Calico Desert, which will save you a lot of effort." Abigail replied.

Finally, fearing that Leon might misunderstand the meaning of his words, he added: "Of course, it's sympathy and mutual help between friends."

"I understand what you mean, but there's one thing: are you sure your old car can withstand the erosion of wind and sand? If sand gets into the engine and it breaks down on the road, we might have to experience a wilderness survival experience."

Although Abigail's proposal was very tempting to Leon, considering the extreme environment of the Calico Desert, Leon was more worried about encountering some accidents that would cause him and Abigail to be trapped in the desert.

After all, driving in the desert requires very high configuration of the driving vehicle. The flowing yellow sand and blown gravel are omnipresent, so for safety reasons, Leon intends to reject Abigail's proposal.

However, Abigail had no concerns about this. "Don't worry, you don't need to worry about that at all. That car has traveled back and forth between Stardew Valley and the Calico Desert more than once and has never broken down. You can drive it with confidence."

"Did you drive there by yourself?" Lyon asked with a frown.

"Emily drove there. She has a friend who runs an oasis store in the Calico Desert. She occasionally borrows my car to visit her friend in the Calico Desert. I've never heard Emily say that she encountered any special accidents in the desert." Abigail explained.

"I see." Leon heaved a sigh of relief when he heard that. If the old car had already successfully traveled between the Calico Desert and Stardew Valley, then it was enough to prove that the car could withstand the erosion of wind and sand. Without the worry of damage to the vehicle, Abigail's proposal became tempting.

"Do your parents agree to you going out with me?"

Safety issues are guaranteed, but whether Abigail can go out is another question. Leon and Abigail are friends with similar interests, but he is just an acquaintance with Abigail's father Pierre.

She has no contact with her mother Caroline. If she knew that her beloved daughter was going to drive to the Calico Desert with a strange man, she probably would not agree with Abigail's idea.

"Why do I need their consent for what I want to do?" Abigail asked in confusion, "I'm an adult, okay?"

"That's true, but there are some things you still need to tell your parents about, just in case. If you drive away without saying a word, your parents might worry." Leon explained patiently to Abigail.

"Don't you want to go to the Calico Desert with me?" Abigail looked at Leon impatiently and complained, "Why do you have so many excuses?"

"I really don't want to. If possible, I would rather you lend me the car and I drive there myself. Afterwards, I will find a place to fill up your car with gas in return. What do you think of this proposal?" Leon nodded and suggested to Abigail.

"No, I just want to go to the Calico Desert." Abigail rejected Leon's proposal without hesitation, folding her arms over her chest and pouting, obviously arguing with Leon.

"That's fine too, you have to convince your parents."

"What if you can't convince me?" "Then you just stay home and I'll go to Zuzu City and transfer to the Calico Desert."

"Why do you have to ask my parents' permission to go with me?"

"Because this involves your safety and social etiquette. I'm new here and may have a lot of business cooperation with your father in the future. I don't want to be rejected by your father because of this matter."

"My father won't be upset with you about this."

"I do not believe."

After the conversation, Leon sat on a stool in the room with his legs crossed. Abigail stood by the bed with her neck stiffened, glaring at Leon angrily.

Both sides were silent for a long time, and finally Abigail compromised: "Okay, then I'll go back and ask my dad if he agrees. You wait."

“Well, I’ll be waiting for you before the first bus to Zuzu City leaves tomorrow morning,” Leon replied.

Abigail asked awkwardly, "What time is the first bus in the morning?"

"Seven thirty," Leon added.

"It's too early." Abigail complained with a troubled look on her face, "Why don't you get some sleep?"

"It's getting late. Even if your parents agree to let you drive to the Calico Desert with me, the earlier the better. Otherwise, if we leave at eight or nine o'clock, the high temperature in the desert will make you understand what a mobile oven is." Leon complained.

“Okay.” Abigail also felt that what Leon said was correct, and then waved her arms at Leon: “Then I’ll go back first. You have to remember what you said. I have my parents’ permission, and you can’t find a reason to reject my kindness.”

After saying that, Abigail left the cabin and went back to town.

Leon sighed. He was not rejecting Abigail's kindness. Being able to drive to the Calico Desert without taking a long detour was a blessing for Leon. However, this time he was not going there to play, but to sacrifice the colorful fragments in exchange for the Galaxy Sword.

If Abigail comes along, it would be difficult for Leon to do this. With Abigail's curiosity, she will definitely follow him secretly. If she sees this scene, it will be difficult to explain, so Leon would rather do this alone.

After finishing his thoughts, Leon stood up, washed up and took a shower, then changed into new clothes and went to bed to rest.

When Lyon's biological clock woke him up the next day, the first thing he did when he got up was to check the time on his watch. It was just past six o'clock.

As usual, after getting up and washing up, Lyon went out to water the plants in the field. He was busy until after seven o'clock. Only then did Lyon finish his daily work and returned to the house to wash his hands.

I don't plan to make breakfast myself. Penny said yesterday that she would prepare some food for me so that I can eat on the way. According to Leon's speculation about Penny, she should prepare a lot of food, so I don't need to worry about breakfast myself.
