Being a knight is not easy

Chapter 85 Gold Coins

Chapter 85 Gold Coins
Robin frowned and asked, "What plan?"

The blacksmith shook his head. "I don't know the details, but the fallen angel wizards have been active in the north and the Black Forest recently. They seem to be planning something big. You'd better be careful and don't let them target you."

Robin nodded, his heart growing even more alert. He was about to ask something else when the blacksmith suddenly lowered his voice and said, "Someone's coming. Leave quickly. Remember, don't trust the Wizard Council; they're not good people either."

Robin's heart trembled, and he quickly put away the gold coins and left through the back door of the blacksmith shop.

He had just walked a short distance when he saw several people in black robes walking into the blacksmith shop.

Their attire and temperament immediately reminded Robin of "dark wizards".

"Sure enough, things are more complicated than I thought..." Robin muttered to himself, quickly blending into the crowd and leaving the blacksmith shop.

After returning to the hotel, Robin found Lina standing at the door, seemingly waiting for him.

"Where have you been?" Lina asked coldly.

Robin replied casually, "Just went to town to walk around and do some shopping."

Lina stared at him for a few seconds, as if trying to see something from his expression, but in the end she just said lightly: “Don’t run around, it’s not safe here.”

Robin nodded, but felt uneasy about Lena's vigilance.

This girl has her eyes on me.

After Robin returned to the inn, he couldn't calm down. The blacksmith's words kept echoing in his mind: "Don't trust the Wizarding Council. They're not good people either."

This statement further shook his trust in Lina and the Wizard Council.

He realized that he was in a huge vortex, and neither the dark wizards nor the Wizard Council seemed to be someone he could completely rely on.

Late at night, Robin lay in bed, his mind constantly thinking about what had happened recently.

The gold coins, the Shadow Wolf's attack, the blacksmith's warning, and Lina's extreme prejudice against dark wizards.

He must find out the true origin of these gold coins and the secrets hidden behind them as soon as possible.

The reason they came to Tutankhamun was probably because they had used the gold coins they had spent on renting a house when they first arrived, thus exposing their identities.

The next morning, Robin left the hotel alone, using the excuse of going to the town market to buy some supplies.

His goal was clear - to find more clues about the gold coins.

Although Heishi Town is not big, it is well-informed because it is a major transportation hub.

Robin believed that as long as he asked carefully, he would be able to find some useful information.

He came to the town market and pretended to pick out goods while paying attention to the conversations of people around him.

Soon, he heard several vendors whispering about the recent situation in the north.

"Have you heard? Several territories in the north have been attacked by monsters recently. It is said that even people from the Wizard Council have been dispatched." A vendor whispered.

"That's right. I heard that those monsters are controlled by people, and there might be the shadow of a dark wizard behind them." Another vendor echoed.

Robin had an idea and moved closer, pretending to be interested in the goods on the stall, but his ears perked up.

"Dark wizards? Haven't they disappeared for a long time? Why did they suddenly appear again?" asked the first vendor in confusion.

"Who knows? But recently, some strange gold coins have appeared on the market, said to be related to dark wizards. They're engraved with strange symbols that ordinary people can't understand," the second vendor said mysteriously. Robin was startled when he heard this. He was about to continue listening when he felt a cold gaze fall upon him.

He subconsciously turned around and found a man in a black robe standing not far away, staring at him coldly.

Robin's heart tightened, and he quickly lowered his head, pretending to pick out the goods.

I might have been targeted.

The other party may have the same idea as you and come to the market to try his luck.

He didn't dare to stay any longer, so he hurriedly bought a few things and left the market.

Back at the hotel, Robin found Lena and Carl waiting for him in the lobby.

"Where have you been?" Lina asked coldly, with a hint of suspicion in her tone.

Robin replied casually, "I went to the market to buy some supplies and to inquire about the news from the north."

Lina frowned: "What did you find out?"

Robin hesitated for a moment, then decided to reveal some information: "I heard that things have been unsettled in the north lately. Several small towns have been attacked by magical beasts, and it's said that there might be a dark wizard behind this."

Lina's expression immediately turned serious: "Sure enough, the dark wizards are active again. We must report to the Wizard Council as soon as possible."

Carl nodded: "Yes, this mission has been completed. We will set off back to Tutankhamun City early tomorrow morning."

Robin did not object, but he had other plans in his mind. He had to find out the secret of the gold coins as soon as possible, and staying in the team would only restrict his actions.

That night, Robin quietly packed his luggage and prepared to leave in the dead of night.

When he pushed open the door, he found Lina standing in the corridor, looking at him coldly.

"Where are you going?" Lina asked, a hint of questioning in her tone.

Robin's heart tightened, but his face remained calm: "I just want to go outside and get some fresh air."

Lina stared at him for a few seconds, then said, "Don't think I don't know what you're planning. You haven't explained clearly what those gold coins are."

Robin knew he could no longer conceal his feelings. He took a deep breath and whispered, "I got those gold coins from a northern noble lord. I didn't know where they came from at first, but recently I've started to suspect they're related to dark wizards, but I don't know the details."

Lina's expression turned even colder. "Why didn't you tell me earlier? These gold coins might be a conspiracy of the dark wizards. If you carry them privately, it will only bring us danger."

Robin smiled bitterly: "I just want to find out the truth and don't want to get involved in more trouble."

Lina was silent for a moment, then said: "Give me the gold coins, and I will hand it over to the Wizard Council. You can't interfere in this matter anymore."

Robin hesitated for a moment, but finally took out a few gold coins from his pocket and handed them to Lina.

I can't fight Lina for the time being, so I can only compromise.

Lina took the gold coin, looked at the symbol on it carefully, and then said, "This matter ends here. You'd better not cause any more trouble."

Robin nodded, but secretly made up his mind that he would use this time to practice with all his strength. Even if he couldn't break through to the Grand Knight, he would at least break through to the Second-Class Wizard.

Lina simply couldn't hold him back for long, or he really had to join a larger force to seek shelter. What he needed was peaceful time to practice.
