Chapter 62 Review
By the time he finished erasing all traces, Daves had just arrived at the crime scene. He looked at the black man's body lying in a pool of blood, surrounded by the forensic technicians, and his face grew increasingly silent.

He looked up at the leader of the survey and received a rough survey result from him.

"A total of five shots were fired. The fatal wound was from this headshot. Officer Eric's first shot, which hit the suspect in the shoulder, and the second shot, which hit him in the chest, were basically enough to stop him."

The suspect fired a total of four shots.

Daves nodded. "Understood."

He glanced at the black man's corpse one last time, then turned and left.

When he got off, Eric was the only one in the bustling scene, leaning against the hood of the police car with his arms crossed, looking utterly bored.

That damn relaxed attitude was perfectly embodied in this young patrolman.

Daves gave a wry smile and walked over with a helpless expression. From Eric's first day at the West Canyon Police Department, he had no idea how many times he had interrogated Eric for this kind of thing.

As soon as he set off, Eric sat up straight, his face showing unease, looking like a well-behaved child preparing for interrogation.

"This guy"

Daves stopped in front of Eric, looked at his uneasy expression, and sneered inwardly.

If he hadn't happened to see this guy when he came down, he would have almost thought that Eric had been somewhat uneasy because of the shooting.

If he were an Oscar judge, he'd really like to award this guy a Best Actor award.

"Are you fully conscious right now?" Daves asked in a businesslike tone.

Eric stood up, his face serious, and said, "Wake up!"

"Then do you remember how many shots you fired in total?"

"Sir, I fired a total of five shots."

Do you know anything about the suspect inside?

"I don't know, sir. There was a door blocking my view, so I couldn't see the suspect clearly."

“Come back to the police station with me now. You cannot leave the police station until the results of the investigation are available.”

"Yes, sir!"

"."

With Annie watching from the side, Eric was taken back to the police station by Daves.

A police car happened to pass by her.

She suddenly saw Eric smiling and nodding at her.

Looking at Eric's handsome face, Annie paused for a moment, watching the police car drive away, a complex feeling welling up in her heart.

She suddenly understood why Eric had suddenly kept her behind.

"Is it because they're afraid this kind of thing will affect my internship?" Annie thought to herself, her mind a jumble of complicated thoughts, as she watched the police car taillights disappear from sight.

......................................................

If Eric, sitting in the back seat of the police car, knew about Annie's unnecessary thoughts, he would probably say, "Girl, you're overthinking it. I'm just worried you'll hold me back."

But he only glanced at the rearview mirror in front of him, and through the reflection he could see half of Daves's dark face, and couldn't help but relax his body from the performance.

Performing all the time is quite tiring, but I have to say, the people above love your unease. Is it some kind of perverse pleasure or because they can find a sense of superiority in it?

He wondered if Daves, also a Black man, would feel a sense of shared sorrow upon seeing the miserable state of his fellow race.

He was very curious, but he didn't dare to ask.

The two remained silent all the way to the West Canyon Police Station.

................................................

A typical investigation of a shooting incident involves several steps, one after another. The first step is for relevant personnel to arrive at the scene and collect evidence.

The second step involves the duty commander asking a few simple questions.

The third step is to return to the police station and collect the identity information and blood sample of the officer involved.

This is because the police shooting does not rule out murder, so Eric's identity information must first be collected according to the standards for suspects.

The reason for the blood test was to check for alcohol and drugs in Eric's system.

"That's fine, Eric."

A medical worker in work clothes spoke gently to the tall patrolman in front of him.

"Yeah, thanks, Sian." Eric nodded and smiled at the dark-skinned medical worker who was still working overtime.

Someone like him, who is inseparable from shooting incidents, is naturally very familiar with the people involved in the entire investigation.

Like Qian, she didn't know how many times she had drawn his blood.

Sian carefully placed the syringe on the metal plate on the table, then picked up the cotton swab next to her and handed it to Eric to press out the blood, asking softly.

"What did you do this time?"

"Hmm," Eric took the cotton swab and casually pressed it on the blood-drawing site, then thought seriously for a moment.

"Sian, I did a good deed."

Qian smiled and said, "This time everything should be alright?"

“Of course,” Eric said calmly, rising from his chair.

"."

After his biometric information was collected, Eric, now dressed in his own clothes, was placed in a small rest room to await notification of the review process.

Eric sat on the stool, yawned, and glanced towards the door.

Daves had already disappeared by the time he was taken into the rest room to await further questioning.
In his view, Daves must also be discussing the final outcome with the Department of the Interior and his superior, Inspector Grey.

As for why this time is different from before.

It is highly likely that the suspect, being Black, committed a serious crime such as child abduction, and given the AMBER alert, a press conference was needed to release the details to the public.

Eric withdrew his gaze, calmly took out an evaluation form for new trainees, and wrote down his evaluation of Annie to pass the time.

Following his strategy, he was confident he could easily pass this test again.

Just as Eric had imagined, a spacious office was filled with many of the bigwigs from the West Canyon Police Department.

Daves, Inspector Grey, and a few other people who were just there for the fun.

The elite SWAT team, led by Captain Rafe and his core members.

They all come from the Metropolitan Division of the Special Operations Bureau, responsible for providing fire support and responding to and handling various emergencies and dangerous incidents.

Most of the members are special operations soldiers who have been selected and retired from special forces units within the army.

At this moment, a video was playing repeatedly on the projection screen in front of them.

This is a video clip from Eric's body camera.

The video above does not include any dialogue between Eric and Gek; it only begins with Eric walking briskly towards the Sunshine Motel while reporting to the dispatch center.

"This is 10-Adam (two-person patrol unit)-11! Suspect's vehicle located at Sunshine Motel, 234 Songzhi Lane. Code name 60: gang related. 148: obstructing police duties. Requesting backup. If possible, request SWAT team deployment!"

Then there's the video clip of Eric leading the boss upstairs.
