Chapter 38 Opening

Finally, Jemin picked up the portable rune artifact.

He used this to make it into the shape of a belt, which can be directly fixed to the waist.

He infused his spiritual power, and a gentle yet powerful energy field lifted him up.

Jemin hovered steadily in the center of the training field, controlling his magic as his body gradually accelerated within the field!
Whoosh!
Jemin's figure gradually turned into a blur, speeding through the training ground at a speed far exceeding the speed he used when simply constructing flight runes using wizard meditation.

He skillfully weaved between obstacles, stopping abruptly, changing direction, climbing, and diving with fluid and swift movements.

The extra agility granted by his cultivation technique allowed him to move through the air as freely as a fish.

In just a few minutes, Jemin explored the entire training ground and was extremely satisfied with the speed and mobility brought by the movement rune.

He stopped and hovered in mid-air, playing with the prototypes of the talismanic artifacts in his hands.

The energy absorption system in the training field was rapidly dissipating the energy fluctuations caused by his experiment, and a faint smell of burning and residual elemental fluctuations filled the air.

After repeated testing and fine-tuning, Jemin was genuinely satisfied with the performance and potential of these three talismanic artifacts.

They fully achieved his original goals and, in terms of power, speed, and versatility, clearly surpassed wizards of the same level.

While Jemin focused on research and manufacturing, and repeatedly tested and optimized these prototypes in the training grounds, news about the trials had already caused a huge uproar.

It wasn't until he stepped out of the laboratory that he discovered the matter concerning the trial was no longer the rumor Amy had brought him, but an official academy announcement, projected onto a massive rune screen and broadcast to every corner of the entire Norren Academy.

The apprentices reacted in different ways.

Some apprentices looked nervous, carrying thick books, shuttling between the library and classrooms, frantically cramming for knowledge that might be needed in the trials.

Others stood tall and proud, their eyes filled with fighting spirit. They gathered in the training ground to test their witchcraft and magical artifacts, confident that this was an excellent opportunity to showcase their talents and gain favor with the higher-ups of the academy.

Some remained unusually calm, continuing to study and live at their own pace, seemingly unconcerned about the outcome of the trial.

Even more so, those apprentices who were not highly rated in terms of talent and were usually ignored were now eager to try, their eyes gleaming with resentment and longing.

They knew that in real combat on the Savage Plane, talent wasn't everything; tactics, wisdom, and thorough preparation were equally important.

They wanted to take this opportunity to prove that they were no less capable than those "geniuses".

As a result of this news, the prices of various practical magical artifacts and potions in the school, especially some combat consumables such as instant-cast magical artifacts, emergency potions, and simple scrolls, began to rise rapidly, even reaching several times their previous prices.

This allowed the logistics apprentices, who were originally struggling below the poverty line, to earn a small windfall.

However, none of this meant much to Jemin.

Looking at the talismanic artifact shimmering in his hand, he felt the power contained within it.

These are the culmination of his hard work, based on several tests and numerous revisions.

"Although I have other ideas that I want to verify, there's not enough time... It seems that for this trial, I can only test the actual application effect of these three rune artifact prototypes first."

He put away the talismanic artifacts, his eyes gleaming with eager anticipation.

……

……

A complex and intense atmosphere permeated the vast teleportation array plaza. Thousands of fellow wizard apprentices from Norren Academy had gathered here, their faces etched with excitement, tension, worry, eagerness, and trepidation…

Whispers and the clanging of equipment mingled together, creating a noisy torrent.

In the center of the plaza, a massive teleportation array glowed with a deep blue light, emanating a chilling spatial fluctuation.

Jemin stood at the edge of the crowd, seemingly calmly looking around.

His hands hung naturally at his sides, but his fingertips lightly rubbed against the metal pendants hanging from his waist under his robe—a disguise for his talismanic artifacts.

He observed those geniuses who were renowned in the academy.

They mostly traveled in small groups, wearing wizard robes or light armor that were clearly crafted by themselves and emanated powerful energy fluctuations, and holding various types of wands or energy conduits.

Their aura was distinctly different from that of the ordinary apprentices around them, carrying an arrogance and confidence befitting the strong.

"Jermin!"

A vibrant voice interrupted his observation.

Amy, dressed in a light but fully protected apprentice robe and carrying a valuable-looking magic potion pouch, quickly walked to his side.

“You don’t seem nervous at all,” Amy said with a hint of admiration. “You’re amazing.”

Jemin smiled and said, "After studying for so long, I can handle this kind of situation."

Amy covered her mouth and chuckled, then lowered her voice, a hint of smugness in it: "Speaking of which, it's all thanks to your information last time!"

"Oh? What news?" Jemin asked.

"It was after you talked to Instructor Clark last time that you told me the specific information about the academy's trial this time, so I could prepare in advance!" Amy's eyes sparkled. "I heard you say that the trial involves a new plane and that it allows people to bring their own apprentice-level equipment and potions... I made a fortune off this information!"

“That’s all thanks to your own abilities.” Jemin shook his head. “I just delivered a message.”

He wasn't being modest. Amy, with her extraordinary interpersonal skills, immediately sought out several apprentice friends in the alchemy and potion-making fields to collaborate with after receiving the news.

They stockpiled a batch of commonly used raw materials in advance and also rushed to produce a batch of apprentice-level magical artifacts and potions.

After the trial was officially announced, Amy took advantage of the soaring prices of materials and consumables to make a fortune.

If an average student didn't have Amy's interpersonal skills, even if they did get this information, they wouldn't have much start-up capital and wouldn't earn much at all.

"Besides, didn't you also give me a share?"

"Hey, those points are nothing, it's all thanks to your help."

Amy waved her hand smugly, but quickly frowned again: "However, this trial is so dangerous, people will definitely die... Don't be careless."

“Don’t worry, I’m prepared,” Jemin said calmly.

Just then, a loud and authoritative voice rang out from the center of the square.

"Quiet!"
