Chapter 200 Reinforcements Arrive
Chapter 200 Reinforcements Arrive
"Except your weapons!"
Dui appeared instantly behind Saruman, and the spell successfully struck Saruman's staff.
The staff that belonged to Dui in his hand flew out and landed in Dui's hand.
Without pausing for a moment after obtaining the staff, Dui Apparated and disappeared again before Saruman's attack could arrive.
Saruman's face was gloomy and ugly. He never expected that he, a dignified white-robed wizard, would suffer a loss at the hands of this kid.
Saruman raised his staff high, chanting ancient Kunya incantations in a deep voice that echoed throughout the wilderness.
The sky instantly became overcast with dark clouds, turning into a dark, oppressive expanse.
Dui looked at the sky and immediately sensed something was wrong.
The air suddenly seemed to freeze, and hair stood on end for no apparent reason.
The next second, lightning struck straight at him.
Dui instantly teleported away, but as soon as he appeared in another place, lightning struck down swiftly.
It was as if a tracker had been installed on Dui; lightning could always pinpoint his location accurately.
Just as Dui and Saruman were locked in combat, an owl guardian flew in from afar, quickly landed on his shoulder, and then merged into his body as if it had completed its mission.
Dui, however, showed a look of delight upon seeing this.
"It's finally here!"
Saruman felt instinctively uneasy when he saw Dui's smile.
"what are you laughing at?"
"I'm laughing at you for falling for my trick!" Dui said with a mocking expression.
Soon, a figure flew in from the distant sky.
"Duir, am I not too late?"
Gandalf arrived on his flying broomstick.
"If you had arrived any later, you might have had to go to Osankta to rescue me."
Dui jokingly complained.
Then, looking around, he asked in confusion, "Where are Lady Galadriel and Lord Elrond? Haven't they arrived yet?"
Gandalf chuckled and apologized, "I rushed here from Edoras as soon as I received the news. As for Lady Elrond and the others, they first conquered Isengard with the Tridents before coming over."
Saruman, who was below, looked surprised and angry upon hearing Gandalf's words.
"Gandalf, what do you mean by this? Why are Lady Galadriel and her men attacking my territory? Are you going to start a war with me?"
Gandalf landed beside Dui, looking at Saruman with a disappointed and heavy expression.
“Saruman, you were one of the five wizards who volunteered to come to Middle-earth to fight against evil forces, but now you have fallen and chosen to collude with Sauron. Do you still remember your responsibilities?”
Saruman's expression changed, and he vehemently denied it, saying, "Gandalf, don't try to frame me! For thousands of years, I have been fighting against evil without ever stopping, and you cannot slander my achievements!"
“I know you’ve always coveted my position, Gandalf. In the Order of the Right, you formed a secret clique with Galadriel and Elrond, and because you possess the Three Rings of the Elves, you treated me as nothing!”
Saruman said, his voice filled with both excitement and indignation.
"Gandalf, don't think I don't know your ambitions. You pretend to be generous and make allies everywhere. Galadriel and Elrond were deceived by you and thought you were a good person!"
But only I know what kind of person you are! You deceived Cildan with a mask, making him entrust the Ring of Fire to you, and then you traveled around stirring up wars, all to become the leader of the righteous path and thus rule this world!
Upon hearing Saruman's words, Gandalf shook his head and sighed.
“Saruman, you have been blinded by vanity and ambition. I have never thought of replacing you or ruling this world. I have always kept my mission in mind: to help the free people of Middle-earth fight against evil forces.”
You may have forgotten the way you came, but I have never forgotten, and I have always longed to return to my homeland.
Saruman's eyes flickered for a moment, but then hardened again, and he sneered:
"No matter how eloquently you speak, you can't fool me! Even that fool Darrigus has his own ulterior motives. How could you be so selfless?"
Gandalf sighed, looked at the madman Saruman, and opened his mouth to say something more.
However, Dui, who was standing to the side, couldn't stand it anymore.
"Gandalf, why waste your breath on him? There's no point in talking to him. He's already been bewitched by Sauron and has betrayed us long ago! We've finally managed to lure him out, so let's just take him down!"
“Duir is right. Those who have fallen into darkness are beyond redemption. Gandalf, you cannot awaken them.”
Elrond's voice came from afar.
Elrond stood atop the giant eagle Throndo, holding an elven sword, and spoke with a cold expression.
Behind him, the dragon Smaug flew over, with Lady Galadriel sitting on his back.
The two elves, a dragon and an eagle, swiftly descended and surrounded Saruman.
"Lady Galadriel, Lord Elrond, you've arrived!" Dui's eyes lit up as he greeted them happily. Now, with four against one, plus a dragon and a giant eagle assisting from the side, it was an overwhelming advantage.
"Thank you for taking so long!" Galadriel said to Dui with a gentle smile.
Elrond looked at him with admiration.
Du Yi waved his hand modestly, "Aside from a few twists and turns in the middle, there weren't any major dangers, and we didn't disappoint."
After Gandalf finished greeting them, he asked the two, "How is it, Lord Elrond?"
Elrond nodded with a smile.
"Things went very smoothly. The treants breached Eisengard and wiped out the dire wolves and enhanced orcs that were secretly being bred there."
With the help of the dragon Smaug and the eagle Saurondor, Lady Galadriel and I successfully entered Orsanktari and sealed it away, temporarily entrusting it to the Ents for safekeeping.
He then looked at Saruman with a stern expression, took out a True Knowledge Crystal that exuded an evil aura, and handed it to Saruman to look at.
“Saruman, you recognize this crystal, don’t you? Lady Galadriel and I found it in your secret chamber, where we also saw the wargs and orcs you’ve been raising, as well as the blueprints you’ve been secretly researching for the Ring of Power. What do you have to say now?”
When Saruman saw this, he knew he had been completely exposed and had no chance to deny it.
His face was gloomy and unpleasant, yet he was also very wary of them.
"When did you find out I had betrayed you?"
“When you first came into contact with Sauron, Duir had already foreseen your betrayal, but at the time we had no evidence and always hoped that you would see the error of your ways.” Galadriel stood on the dragon’s back, a look of disappointment in her deep, beautiful eyes. “But in the end, you still disappointed us.”
"So you knew all along, and were secretly searching for evidence?" Saruman suddenly realized, looking at Dui with a complex and resentful gaze. "I really underestimated you. I didn't expect you to have the ability to foresee the future, causing my plans to fail time and time again!"
"So today was also part of your plan? You used this kid as bait to lure me out of Osankta, and then cut off my escape route?"
"Unfortunately, that's not the case." Dui shook his head jokingly, "But I don't intend to tell you. After all, I know the lesson of villains dying from talking too much!"
As Saruman was still wondering, he suddenly shouted at Smaug, "Smaug, get him!"
Then he himself cast a killing spell.
He had been driven to the brink of death several times by Saruman, and now he could finally vent his anger.
What Dui didn't tell Saruman was that when he passed through Eisengard, he felt like he was being watched by a pair of eyes, and that feeling only disappeared when he reached the White Mountains.
At first, Dui thought it was Sauron, after all, he had previously tried to spy on and corrupt him with the Crystal of True Knowledge.
But he quickly realized that Saruman was spying on him using the Crystal of True Knowledge.
Dui had long been wary of Saruman, and when he saw Saruman suddenly spying on him, he knew that Saruman's intentions were not good.
When Saruman attacked him with lightning from a distance, he knew he was no match for Saruman and immediately used his Patronus to notify Gandalf, Elrond, and the others.
That led to the series of events that followed.
Upon hearing Dui's words, Smaug immediately unleashed a torrent of scorching dragonfire at Saruman.
The scorching flames forced Saruman to raise his staff to defend himself while also being wary of attacks from others around him.
Saruman has lost all will to fight and only wants to get out of his predicament and escape as soon as possible.
Seeing this, the others sighed and then joined the battle to besiege Saruman.
Elrond, wielding the elven sword, opted for close-quarters combat. The longsword displayed formidable power in his hands, capable of not only deflecting spell attacks but also shattering incoming fireballs with a single strike.
"Saruman, surrender!" Gandalf waved his staff, unleashing a magical shockwave at Saruman, his voice booming like thunder. "If you lay down your weapon, we will not attack you again."
"Surrender? Dream on!" Saruman sneered, continuing his stubborn resistance. He unleashed powerful magic, and a dazzling beam of light shot from the gem on his staff, shooting straight into the sky.
The next second, ancient incantations were chanted from his mouth.
The sky suddenly changed, and the sky darkened instantly.
Thick thunderclouds surged in the sky, and then, as if a thunder pool had been overturned, countless bolts of lightning descended from the sky, instantly striking down upon everyone.
Dui's expression changed drastically. He had already considered Saruman's strength, but he did not expect that the opponent's strength would still exceed his expectations.
Such terrifying lightning caused even Elrond and Gandalf beside them to look solemn.
Not to mention the trembling giant eagle Zorodo and the dragon Smaug.
Faced with the terrifying lightning that seemed like divine retribution, both Zorodo and Smaug were instinctively afraid, feeling that if they were struck, they would be seriously injured even if they didn't die!
However, at this moment, Lady Galadriel stepped forward.
She raised her slender right hand as if supporting the sky, and the Water Ring Nanya appeared in her hand, releasing a dazzling light and forming a huge, transparent, film-like shield that protected the group, Smaug, and Saurondo.
Countless bolts of lightning struck down like arrows, crashing into the protective shield and unleashing terrifying explosive force.
