Chapter 199 Extreme Confrontation
Chapter 199 Extreme Confrontation
"Avada Kedavra!"
Without saying a word, Dui unleashed his most deadly magic.
A dazzling green light shone towards Saruman.
But Saruman casually pointed his staff at the nearby boulder, which instantly flew over and blocked the Killing Curse's attack.
“To cast such evil dark magic, I think Gandalf is getting more and more confused, actually considering you one of his own,” Saruman said with a righteous and cold laugh.
"If you ask me, a dark wizard like you should be detained and interrogated to see if you're colluding with dark forces?"
Dui snorted coldly, his face full of mockery.
"Saruman, don't you know best who you're colluding with? If I hadn't just seen it in your memories, I wouldn't have realized you were so audacious as to collude with Sauron. Aren't you afraid of begging for mercy and becoming Sauron's puppet?"
Saruman's face immediately darkened, and his sharp eyes stared coldly at him.
"I don't know what you're talking about. How could I, a dignified white-robed wizard and leader of the righteous path, possibly dance with darkness?"
"Kid, you've slandered me like this, I'll teach you a lesson and show you what it means to have trouble with your words!"
As he spoke, he raised his staff and instantly unleashed a bolt of lightning that struck Dui.
"Thunderbolt explosion!"
Dui reacted quickly, also unleashing a spell.
The two collided, unleashing a massive explosion and shockwave that turned the surrounding area into scorched earth.
Dui was thrown away by the shockwave. Before landing, he nimbly adjusted his posture in mid-air, and then, without hesitation, used Animagus to transform into an owl and fly rapidly outwards.
While the extent of Saruman's anti-apparition restriction is uncertain, his mobility would become more agile once he escaped its range.
Saruman, of course, would not allow Dui to escape. Without him saying a word, the dire wolf beneath him caught up at an extremely fast speed.
Saruman chanted ancient Kunya incantations, causing a storm that halted Dui's advance.
Then, he used his staff to unleash massive fireballs that crashed down on Dui, exploding upon impact and creating huge craters.
In the storm, Dui struggled to fly and narrowly avoided being hit by fireballs.
Seeing Saruman approaching step by step, Dui suddenly charged straight at Saruman, instantly transforming into human form in mid-air.
"Shatter to pieces!" In the instant of suspended animation, Dui's wand pointed at Saruman and cast a spell.
Saruman raised his staff to deflect the spell, easily neutralizing it.
But before he could mock Dui for his futile efforts, a sharp, silver-white spear was thrown at him, only a moment after the spell was cast.
The spear is indestructible, possessing a magic-piercing sharpness that is difficult even for magic to withstand.
Saruman's expression changed slightly. Instead of confronting the enemy head-on, he nimbly dodged to the side.
But the dire wolf beneath him couldn't dodge; with a whimper, it was pierced by the spear and killed instantly.
Saruman staggered as he jumped off his dire wolf, his face grim as he looked at his dead mount and the spear.
"Aegros the Divine Spear, I never expected Gilgalard's weapon to end up in your hands. Your luck is truly enviable!"
"Unfortunately, both the Divine Spear and the True Knowledge Crystal will become my collectibles, and you will have nowhere to escape."
With that, he slammed his staff into the ground, releasing massive shockwaves that hurtled towards Dui.
"Super strong armor protection!"
Dui's expression changed, and he gripped his staff to cast a protective spell with all his might.
But under the immense magical impact of Saruman, Dui's protective shield kept shrinking, and he was forced to retreat, leaving two furrows under his feet.
Dui gritted his teeth and persevered, the veins on his face practically bulging.
But the shockwaves kept crashing against him like a tidal wave, and he was like a small boat swaying precariously, in danger of being capsized at any moment.
He finally understood the white-robed wizard's strength. If there was no other way, he would probably be doomed here today!
Saruman on the other side also revealed a mocking expression.
"Stop struggling, you black-robed wizard brat. You have no idea what a white-robed wizard means. The difference between us is like a stream compared to the ocean. If you weren't still useful, do you think I would have let you jump around for so long?"
With that, the staff struck again with force, unleashing an even more powerful shockwave of magic.
Dui's magical shield was instantly shattered, breaking apart like glass.
He was also thrown back with a thud, his staff slipping from his hand and landing some distance away.
Dui crashed to the ground with a muffled groan, his face turning deathly pale instantly, and his body wracked with pain.
For a moment, Dui's consciousness fell into a coma, his vision went black, and he almost died.
Saruman picked up Dui's staff and examined it.
"Made of turretwood and adorned with Elisa emeralds, such a fine staff has fallen into your hands—what a waste!" Saruman's tone was a mix of sarcasm and envy.
When he first arrived in Middle-earth, he asked Galadriel for an Elven Gem in order to create the most powerful staff.
But he didn't receive the same treatment as Duir, who was gifted with the treasured Elisa gem by Galadriel.
Saruman, holding two staffs in his hands, strolled toward Dui.
Dui has recovered; the effects of the Ent drink he had consumed earlier have not yet worn off, and it is rapidly repairing his injuries.
With his staff taken from him, Dui moved his hand, and a wand that was tied to his left arm automatically sprang up and fell into his hand.
With a clenched fist in his right hand, the flaming sword instantly appeared in his grasp. He waved his wand, and the surrounding trees came to life, attacking Saruman.
The Blazing Sword also slashed forcefully into the void, releasing a scorching blade of air that struck Saruman.
"Trees? I hate these trees the most!" Saruman's face darkened as he looked at the trees around him that seemed to be alive.
One staff cast a defensive spell to block the trees' attacks, while the other staff unleashed a fireball to burn the trees.
He swiftly dodged the attack of the air blades, his agility and flexibility making him seem nothing like an old man.
As if growing impatient, Saruman forcefully shook aside the surrounding trees, pointed a staff at Dui, and unleashed an energy attack that instantly pinned Dui to a tree trunk and knocked the wand and sword from his hands.
"Alright, game over," Saruman said with a sneer.
He strolled closer, pressed his staff against Dui, immobilizing him, and then glanced at the wand on the ground.
"This little stick is the magic wand you created?" He picked up the wand, examined it carefully, and then a hint of jealousy flashed in his eyes.
As one of the top sages in Middle-earth, he could naturally see the innovativeness and universality of this wand.
But such a creation actually came from the hands of an unknown nobody whom he looked down upon.
The proud Saruman found it hard to accept.
When he tried to cast a spell with his wand, he felt the wand resist and refuse to serve him, and Saruman's expression darkened further.
"Hmph, a mere wand dares to defy the great White-Robed Saruman!"
He gripped the wand so tightly it seemed he would break it.
At that moment, Dui, who was pinned to the tree trunk, saw Saruman, who was only inches away, and suddenly erupted.
"The Blazing Sword!"
The sword that had fallen nearby heard the summons, vanished from its spot, and instantly appeared in Dui's hand.
At the same time, another wand popped out from Dui's other hand.
"All curses end!" The wand released a spell, instantly dispelling the magic Saruman had placed on Dui.
At the same time, Dui was multitasking, swinging his flaming sword with his other hand and slashing at Saruman.
Saruman hadn't expected Dui to have another wand in hand. At close range, he quickly raised his staff to block the attack of the flaming sword.
Clang! The flaming sword struck the staff, producing a sound like metal clashing, and sparks flew everywhere.
Although Saruman's staff successfully blocked the flaming sword, the staff itself was made of wood, and the sword cut a gash in it.
The Flaming Sword even released a blade of air at the same time, shaving off a section of Saruman's beard and hair.
A foul smell of burnt hair instantly filled the air.
Having missed his first attack, Dui once again swung his sword and launched a close-range attack on Saruman.
Saruman, enraged by the sight of his severed and charred beard and hair, unleashed a terrifying burst of magic that sent Dui flying.
"You deserve to die!"
Saruman unleashed a bolt of lightning, striking Dui.
Dui took a deep breath and immediately began casting a spell with all his might.
"Thunderous explosion! Armor protection!"
The spell and lightning collided again, and the resulting immense impact sent Dui flying.
However, because he was protected by the armor charm in advance, he was not seriously injured.
Seeing several more huge fireballs being fired at him, Dui dodged and deflected them, then took a few breaths and let out a cold snort.
"So you're the only one who knows how to play with fire, huh!"
As he spoke, he summoned Fiery Blaze.
The fiery flames spread rapidly, transforming into a fiery serpent that attacked Saruman.
Saruman's expression turned slightly serious. He waved his staff, unleashing powerful magic to repel the Fiendfire.
Seeing this, Dui increased his magical output, and the Fiery Flame surged again, reforming into a Flame Demon that wielded a Fiery Whip and lashed out at Saruman.
"Hmph, I'm not afraid of even the real Flame Demon, let alone a mere imitation like you!"
Saruman bombarded the Fiend with his staff, but failed to get the flames close.
Then a bolt of lightning struck the Fiery Demon in the chest. The Fiery Demon let out a wail and could no longer maintain its form, collapsing completely.
But at that moment, Dui revealed a look of joy.
It turned out that the Fiery Blaze was spreading everywhere, but it inadvertently dispelled the magic that Saruman had cast around them.
He can now Apparate again!
"Avada Kedavra!" Dui instantly appeared behind Saruman and cast the deadly spell.
Saruman reacted quickly and successfully thwarted Dui's sneak attack.
But when Dui missed his first attack, he instantly teleported to another location and launched another attack.
Dui thus began to wage guerrilla warfare against Saruman.
