Doomsday America

Chapter 62 Losing One's Temperament

Chapter 62 Losing One's Temperament
Before Eugene and Madison could offer any opinions, he finished speaking.

Gavin promptly pulled the trigger.

boom!
The gunshots echoed far across the open plains, startling the flock of crows circling above the dead horse, causing them to scatter in all directions.

Not only in the direction of Dead Horse, but even deeper into the forest, more than one flock of birds fluttered their wings and rushed into the sky in a panic.

These are birds from near the farm. The cowboys on the farm, who have nothing better to do, often use birds to practice their marksmanship or make bets.

Birds would probably experience stress upon hearing gunshots.

However, the situation has now reversed. Looking at the birds that have taken flight in the distance, the three people in the Raptor vehicle are also on the verge of a breakdown!
Gavin kept a close eye on the crucial crow while ordering everyone to put their guns back in the car and then tightly close the windows.

After the car windows were closed, the crows, under the terrified gazes of the crowd, first flew away in a chaotic manner, then quickly assessed the situation and soon resumed their previous actions.

Some crows boldly landed back on the dead horse, lowered their heads, and continued to feast.

The timid crows returned to their flock and continued circling around the dead horse.

Upon seeing this, Gavin's eyes lit up, and his breathing became a little rapid.

"They didn't attack us!"

As Gavin spoke, he simply drove the car towards the crows and the dead horse.

Feeling the undulations of the car body, Madison asked incredulously, panting heavily.

"Boss, isn't that dead horse a zombie horse? Or... do crows not get infected by eating dead zombies?"

"Stop talking nonsense! Whatever the reason, this is fantastic news!"

Gavin interrupted Madison excitedly, letting out a low growl.

"We need to get closer and check the dead horse's condition, especially to make sure it's not a zombie horse. If it is, then we'll probably be in a lot of trouble!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Gavin accelerated his car, quickly crossing the river and continuing towards the edge of the forest.

After crossing the river, the crows began to feel uneasy about the approaching vehicle. When the Ford Raptor came within eighty meters of the dead horse, the crows that had been pecking at the dead horse reluctantly took to the air.

Gavin persisted, parking the car just five or six meters away from the dead horse.

Gavin tentatively lowered the car window a crack and looked through the gap at the crows circling in the sky. He felt as if he were seeing a flock of little angels flying there!

Meanwhile, inside the car.

Eugene, clutching the sniper rifle, licked his lips excitedly.

"Screw it, that horse must be a zombie horse, it must be, but those damn birds ate the horse meat and didn't get infected!"

"We're saved, buddy! At least the dead zombies won't infect those damn birds!"

"Fuck! Fuck fuck fuck fuck! This is fucking amazing!"

After a series of excited roars, Eugene, panting heavily, pushed open the car door and jumped out, stumbling and falling in front of the dead horse.

As Gavin and Madison got out of the car, they saw Eugene kneeling in front of the dead horse, pulling out a dagger and gesturing at the body.

"Look!"

Eugene couldn't wait to speak to Gavin and Madison.

"Look here, Dead Horse has more than one bullet hole in its neck and heart area!"

Eugene moved the dagger to the dead horse's chest cavity and stabbed it in, digging around inside.

A moment later, he savagely dug out a bullet, and then nonchalantly used his blood-stained knife to dig out other bullet holes!
"Look at these, one, two, three, four!"

"That damn horse had five fatal wounds, including one in the stomach, but it kept chasing all the way here until it finally went down after getting shot in the eye!"

After digging out several bullets, Eugene excitedly pointed the knife at Dead Horse's head, right above Dead Horse's right eye, where the bullet marks were clearly visible.

Eugene then pushed the knife into the dead horse's wound, stirring it passionately while continuing to speak with his hands covered in blood.

"Although this horse doesn't show any signs of decay, that's normal. After all, the zombie cow we saw before didn't look rotten either; it wouldn't have rotted so quickly!"

"But based on these fatal wounds alone, I'm certain it's a zombie horse, and those crows definitely ate zombie horse meat!"

"They're alright, that's fucking great! The crows are okay, so we don't have to deal with attacks from the sky!"

"Boss, we're saved! We're saved!!!"

"Great! We're saved!" Madison couldn't help but shout along with Eugene.

While shouting excitedly, Madison walked up to Dead Horse and angrily pointed the shotgun at Dead Horse's head!

Seeing Madison do this, Eugene was completely stunned. He quickly raised his hand to stop him. But before he could even speak…

boom!
The shotgun fired, and a large buckshot grenade struck Dead Horse's head at close range, splattering blood and brain tissue all over them.

"Fake Squid!"

Eugene quickly got up and kicked Madison in the leg, pointing to the blood splattering from his chest.

"Are you fucking crazy? We're so close, I don't want to taste the virus!"

"You piece of shit Eugene, stop pretending to be an idiot. We're already saturated with the virus. We smell like the virus!"

"As long as we don't get bitten by a live zombie, a little bit of dead horse blood might not infect us. If you didn't think that way, you wouldn't be poking at this thing and dissecting it, you idiot!"

Madison excitedly replied to Eugene, then kicked Dead Horse hard.

Although his trousers and clothes were stained with a lot of horse blood, he didn't care at all; all he felt was joy.

Beside the raptor, Madison and Eugene, though still hurling insults at each other, were in excellent spirits.

Gavin smiled and shook his head, then clapped his hands lightly.

popping.

When Madison and Eugene looked at him, Gavin coldly pointed at Madison's spittoon and whispered a rebuke.

"Madison, there won't be a next time!"

"Boss..."

Madison looked embarrassed and quickly lowered his head to admit his mistake. Fortunately, Gavin only touched on the matter briefly.

The absence of the zombie birds truly made Gavin's mood incredibly good.

As for Madison and Eugene's momentary smugness...

Gavin would rather be more carried away like that.

Reality isn't a movie, where everyone only has a few lines to speak.

It has been proven that most people have brains, and fools cannot survive for long in the apocalypse.

When Madison and Eugene were with him, one was always joking and the other was always obedient.

But did you hear what they just said?

While they may not have considered the current situation as far ahead or as deeply as they do, they all have their own judgments about the future and their own worries and anxieties.

However, since Gavin didn't ask, they kept their worries and pressures to themselves.

This concealment was only revealed by the two of them in a moment of carelessness after the team was almost certain that Raven had not been assimilated by the flesh and blood of the zombie Dead Horse.

Madison's behavior was indeed irrational, but if everyone could be as rational as he was, Gavin really wouldn't dare say he could manage everyone.

Gavin nodded to Madison, then pulled out his pistol and aimed it at Dead Horse's head.

"Alright, stop playing the victim and move away so I can have a go too!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Gavin joined in and fired a shot at Dead Horse.

After the gunfire subsided, the atmosphere immediately rose to a new level, with Eugene even stomping heavily on the horse's head twice with his boots.

As Eugene rubbed his heel back and forth on the grass, he asked Gavin with a smirk.

"Boss, it seems we don't need to worry about the zombie birds anymore. What should we do next? Continue chasing them into the forest?"

Upon hearing this, Gavin glanced at Eugene, who had a half-smile on his face, and scoffed.

"Don't ask questions with the answers in mind, you fool. The forest is too dangerous for us. Let's go back and clear out the horse farm and the last manor."

"By the way, I have a few experiments to do, especially feeding live cattle a couple of mouthfuls of zombie meat or injecting them with some zombie blood."

"I need to confirm whether it's birds that aren't infected by the zombie virus, or living creatures that aren't infected by the corpses of dead zombies!"

"If the flesh and blood of dead zombies can't even infect live cattle, then we will be in far less danger in the future!"

"Although that brings another piece of bad news, namely... zombies are not dead bodies, but infected beings that can be called living beings, and we probably can no longer wait for them to rot on their own."

"After all, only the dead slowly decompose, while the living do not, regardless of why they live!"
