Doomsday America

Chapter 65 3 Phantom Gods

Chapter 65 The Three Phantom Gods

Time passed slowly and methodically.

Eugene and Madison moved the bodies one by one until they formed a small pile of corpses near the estate road.

Gavin, meanwhile, dug the soil shovel by shovel, and soon dug a pit large enough to simply bury the two of them.

Don't underestimate digging work. If an ordinary person who has never done manual labor were to do this kind of work, it would keep them busy for a whole day.

But Gavin had helped manage the farm when he was a child, and his physical abilities far exceeded those of ordinary people. What an average person couldn't finish in a day, he could do in less than an hour.

By the time Eugene and Mike came over with their shovels, Gavin had already dug enough holes.

However, the two didn't want to be idle, so they helped Gavin deepen the pit a bit.

Until finally, after the pit had completely taken shape.

Eugene and Madison tossed the shovel aside and watched silently as Gavin lowered their parents' bodies into the pit and positioned them.

Gavin climbed out of the pit, glanced down at his parents, then looked up at Eugene and his companion, and said softly.

"Don't look at me with those mournful eyes. Do you want me to throw myself in front of them and cry my eyes out?"

"This is the end of the world, guys. Everyone dies eventually, but the living must stay strong."

"They are lucky enough; after all, they are among the first people to still have a grave in the apocalypse."

After saying that, Gavin didn't say anything more and started filling the soil.

After the three of them had finished cleaning up the grave.

The distant sun was tinged with the crimson hues of sunset.

Gavin, shovel in hand, took one last look at the grave in the setting sun, then pulled out a cigarette and lit it.

Gavin took a puff, placed the cigarette in front of the grave, then picked up a shovel and headed towards the manor.

Eugene followed behind Gavin, wiping the sweat from his brow as he carried a shovel, and said...

"You two have been working for so long, how come you haven't even broken a sweat? Are all rugby players this fit?"

"Bullshit! Do you think we, who live off our bodies, are weaker than a bastard like you?"

Madison gave Eugene a sharp rebuke.

Eugene retaliated with an elbow to Michael, who immediately retaliated with another.

Men are boys until they die. To make things easier for Gavin, the two of them elbowed each other so much that they almost came to blows!
As the two men's playful fighting intensified, Eugene was almost being tossed around by Old Mike.

Gavin could only roll his eyes and stop them, cursing.

"Stop fucking, you two pieces of dog shit!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Gavin went over and kicked each of them as if to vent his anger, then threw the shovel next to the fence and said.

“Let’s take a look at the warehouse first. The walkie-talkie repeater is there, as are the new walkie-talkies that no one has used. In addition, there are generators, emergency generators and other equipment.”

"okay!"

Eugene agreed, and casually gave Madison the middle finger.

Madison gave him the middle finger and then followed Gavin to the estate's warehouse area.

The manor warehouse is not very large, about half the size of a football field.

After all, Gavin Estate has a relatively shallow history. It belongs to the emerging farms that have risen rapidly in Texas in the last decade and cannot be compared with those century-old farms.

Gavin entered the password to open the warehouse, where he was greeted by a series of spare parts for large agricultural machinery and tools, including countless giant blades for lawnmowers.

As for generator sets and various types of generators, there's no need to elaborate; they're simply too numerous to count!

It's important to understand that American agriculture isn't just simple agriculture; it's agriculture built entirely on large-scale industrialization.

Without electricity and fuel, 99 percent of farms across the United States would be shut down.

Therefore, Gavin Farm may lack many things, but it certainly doesn't lack power generation equipment.

With enough fuel, Gavin could even guarantee that Gavin Farm would still have electricity even a decade or more after the apocalypse!
Aside from the most important power generation facilities, the warehouse was mainly filled with various odds and ends commonly used by the Gavin family.

This includes things like horse brushes and cow hair brushes, as well as spare parts for milking machines to replace the cows, and various spare tools that might appear in farm life; most of them are brand new.

The intercom repeater and walkie-talkie that Gavin was concerned about were currently placed in a room on the second floor of the warehouse in the southwest direction.

Gavin quickly scanned the warehouse, and after confirming the status of the walkie-talkies and repeaters, he led the two men out of the warehouse.

Stepping out of the warehouse, looking at the increasingly lower sun, Eugene spat excitedly and laughed.

"This is a great place, the best place I've ever seen, we'll definitely live here for a long time!"

"Perhaps, I also hope that time can be longer."

Gavin responded to Eugene, then led them through the old stone manor, across the river and courtyard, and along the fenced path to Gavin's own living quarters.

Pointing to the luxurious three-story manor with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, Gavin finally smiled and introduced it to the two of them.

“My parents are quite old-fashioned and don’t like to embrace new styles. They insist on preserving the old buildings in our house.”

"However, I prefer a tech-driven lifestyle, especially like Bill Gates', so after I made money, I built another house behind my home."

“My armory and garage are also connected to my house, Eugene. You wanted to broaden your horizons, didn’t you? Now you can broaden your horizons.”

"Of course, the new house also has its downsides. The blast-proof and bulletproof glass is too sturdy, so the zombies inside can't jump out."

At this point, Gavin pointed to the three zombies struggling and crashing inside the floor-to-ceiling windows on the second floor of the manor.

Because they can't open the door or break through the glass, the zombies in this house are still trapped inside...

Looking at the zombies, Eugene gave them the middle finger with disdain and laughed.

"Those things won't open my eyes. I'm a man who's killed nearly eighty zombies, eighty!"

As they boasted, the three left the path and came to the nice paved road that ran through the estate, around the river, and eventually connected to Highway 283, standing in front of Gavin's garage.

As soon as he got close, the garage door opened automatically for Gavin, and in an instant, nearly 170 cars of various kinds appeared in Eugene's eyes.

Eugene had imagined this scene, but when he blinked again, he still felt a little dizzy.

However, when his gaze swept past the many vehicles and finally landed on the Three Egyptian Gods.

His eyes no longer need to look around.

At the same time, Gavin pointed dismissively to the two rows of sports cars in front of the convoy.

Those twenty-odd sports cars came from only three brands.

Bugatti, Pagani, and Koenigsegg.

"Whoa... Wow, oh ho... Fuck... Fuck fuck fuck!"

Once his vision was completely filled with the three Egyptian Gods, Eugene was speechless. He just stood there, his face blank and even a little horrified, rushing towards the three Egyptian Gods, greedily looking at any one of them.

Looking at Eugene's expression, Gavin shook his head, gave a helpless smile, and said.

"Alright, times have changed, those fancy gadgets are useless now."

"In order to let these big toys go out for a spin occasionally, I even extended the highway to the garage door, but they can only run on the highway."

"Compared to those, the three major SUV manufacturers are actually more useful to us!"

At this point, Gavin walked to the side of the garage and pointed to another group of the Big Three behind him.

That is, a row of Cadillac Escalades, Chevrolet Suburbans, and GMC Yukons.

After being reminded by Gavin to shift his attention away from the three legendary cars, Eugene found all other cars rather ordinary. However, when he looked over, he couldn't help but point to the Lincoln Navigator on the far side and say something.

"How could such junk be here?"

Well, while the Lincoln Navigator is quite famous across the ocean, it's really no match for the Cadillac Escalade, Suburban, and Yukon in America.

Of course, the Cadillac Escalade, Suburban, and Yukon are all just average in this garage.

Eugene only glanced at them twice before his gaze couldn't help but fall on a series of cars that had a stronger visual impact behind them!

"Fuck, this is the kind of thing men should play with!"

Eugene dashed dozens of meters in the blink of an eye, pointing at the large vehicle in front of him and saying...

"Kaiberhide Shield, Inkas Sentinel, Knight XV, Brabus 6x6, and George Patton, these are the real treasures!"

"Haha, I'm rich! I never dreamed I'd be driving these beasts!"

"To hell with this! This isn't the end of the world, it's my lucky day! I'm going to change my birthday to today!"

"Today, right now!"

"I want to hear you sing me a birthday song, a birthday song!"
