Doomsday America
Chapter 66 is utterly lame.
Chapter 66 is utterly lame.
Watching Eugene go crazy, clinging to the door of the Knight XV and shouting "Happy Birthday" at the top of his lungs.
Gavin and Madison exchanged a glance and then rolled their eyes in unison.
Madison walked up to Eugene, roughly pulled him off Knight XV, and cursed.
"Don't be so pathetic, buddy. These things are all toys. Drive them however you want, as long as you have enough gas!"
"Don't waste time on these vehicles, they won't grow legs and run away on their own. Don't forget there are still some lively zombies to deal with in the boss's manor!"
When Madison talked about zombies, Eugene's excitement faded a little.
He let out a long sigh, reluctantly touched the door of the Knight XV, and affirmed to Gavin without turning his head.
"Boss, leave the zombies in your house to me. For the sake of these big toys, trust me, no zombie will be able to walk out of this house standing up!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Eugene licked his lips and drew his pistol, wishing he could rush into the manor right now.
Seeing that Eugene was already full of energy from the big toy, Gavin patted him on the shoulder and laughed.
"Great, you're very motivated. Let's get started now."
“My estate is infinitely safer than old Bert’s house. If we could, we should move here tonight!”
"If nothing unexpected happens, there will be no more than fifteen staff members in the house. The three of us should be able to handle that number."
At this point, Gavin walked through the rows of cars to the entrance where the garage connected to the main part of the manor.
Standing in the doorway, Gavin shrugged at the two of them.
Madison quickly clutched his shotgun, while Eugene drew his dagger and pistol.
Seeing that the two were ready, Gavin unlocked the fingerprint lock, opened the garage door, and was greeted by the corridor on the first floor of the manor leading to the hall.
Gavin chuckled as he looked at the corridor, which appeared quite romantic in the sunset.
"There are only about a dozen people maintaining the entire house, and three of them have already appeared on the second-floor corridor."
"As for the others, most of them are near the maids' lounge on the first floor."
"Because I used so much blast-proof glass, as long as the zombies don't open the doors, they'll never be able to leave their rooms."
"So don't be too nervous, just stay alert, we'll take it one room at a time."
"I'll listen to you, boss!"
Eugene gave Gavin a thumbs up, then followed Gavin to his left, shaking his head as he observed the surroundings.
Madison, however, missed Gavin by a fraction of a step, keeping a close watch on Gavin's right side and behind him.
Gavin strode across the corridor, and each time he came to a door, he simply pushed it open.
Entertainment room, gym, bar, indoor swimming pool, etc.
They opened four or five rooms in a row, but none of them were empty. After all, no maid would go to those places at two or three in the morning.
Eugene followed Gavin through many rooms, but didn't see a single zombie. Instead, he learned a lot.
As Gavin strode out of the corridor, Eugene couldn't help but rub the handle of his gun and gave a wry smile.
"This feeling is really weird. We're doing something very dangerous, but why does it feel like we're camping?"
Upon hearing Eugene's words, Gavin grinned and casually replied.
"That's because we've already done much more dangerous things!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Gavin pushed open the door to a bedroom on the first floor.
This time he finally got his wish. When he pushed the door open to about 20 centimeters, he felt a heavy impact on the door!
Boom!
After a muffled thud, Gavin pointed behind him.
"Keep an eye on the second floor!"
As he spoke, he slammed the door open, sending the female zombie flying.
Duang!
After the loud noise, the female zombie inside the door staggered back four or five meters and tumbled to the ground in a sorry state.
Gavin, wielding a claw hammer, rushed forward and smashed it into the female zombie's forehead!
At the same time, another female zombie roared and charged at Gavin from inside the bedroom. But before the female zombie could get within a meter of Gavin, Madison's shotgun opened fire.
boom!
The buckshot slammed into the female zombie's head from a distance of less than five meters, causing her head and shoulders to explode in a manner resembling a water balloon bursting.
The female zombie was propelled by this immense force and flew out, even spinning half a circle in the air before collapsing to the ground, spraying ink-like blood.
Loud gunshots echoed throughout the manor, attracting the attention of zombies in the second-floor hall and corridors, who rushed towards the first floor.
Hearing the footsteps of the zombies, Eugene licked his lips heavily, boldly left the room, and looked at both sides of the corridor.
Boom boom boom!
From the room closest to them, they heard the sound of zombies banging on the door.
Gavin left the blood-soaked bedroom, ignoring the banging on the door, and focused intently on the right side of the corridor.
Following his gaze, three female zombies tumbled and crawled down the stairs in the distance, clawing at the floor with their hands and feet as they roared as they charged toward where they were.
but……
Just three zombies?
Eugene was not nervous at all; he even raised his pistol and aimed for a while before firing at the zombies that approached within thirty meters.
Bang bang bang!
After emptying his revolver magazine, Eugene looked at the two fallen zombies and pouted in dissatisfaction.
"Screw it, I haven't handled a pistol in ages, my marksmanship is absolutely terrible!"
"Yeah, that's really lame!"
Seeing that only one zombie was still charging towards him, Gavin raised his left hand and slightly adjusted the muzzle of the Colt Python.
boom!
After the shot, the zombie fell in the corridor about fourteen meters away from Gavin, its head nearly blown off.
When it comes to shooting, as long as you have good eyesight and a steady hand, you'll definitely be able to shoot accurately.
Although Gavin had no professional training, he had exceptional eyesight, amazing physical abilities, and gun control skills far exceeding those of ordinary people.
Aside from lacking experience in long-range sniping, he was very accurate with both pistols and rifles.
After dealing with the three free zombies on the second floor, Madison walked out of the bedroom and looked at the door that was banging on.
"Boss!"
He excitedly told Gavin, who nodded and reached out to grab the doorknob.
Gavin opened the door, didn't even look, and went straight up and kicked.
Boom!
This kick not only opened the door but also sent the two zombies that were banging on it flying.
Before the zombie could even get up, Madison had already rushed to the door and was firing at it with a shotgun.
In less than two seconds, the two mindless zombies followed in their predecessors' footsteps.
By this point, the constant gunfire within the manor had stirred up all the surviving zombies.
Gavin and his team only needed to follow the direction of the sound and open the doors one by one to deal with the situation.
Such a simple task would hardly lead to any unexpected problems. In just a few minutes, they had dealt with the remaining nine zombies in the manor.
After the last sound was cleared away, Gavin pulled the claw hammer out of the female zombie's head and wiped the blood off with the zombie's pajamas.
He then walked out of the room and stood in the quiet manor, gazing absently at the sunset outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Noticing Gavin's gaze, Eugene, while loading a pistol, came to his side and spoke.
"There are sixteen zombies in this house, and they're all women! Boss, aren't you being a bit sexist? Can't you have a male housekeeper at home?"
"Don't label me. I'm not sexist. It's just that I used to prefer having more women wandering around my sleeping area!"
Gavin made a sarcastic remark, then pointed to the corpse behind him.
"Let's go, let's carry all the bodies out of the house, then go back to Old Bert's house and bring them all over!"
"We need to hurry before the sun goes down; I don't want to travel at night!"
Upon hearing Gavin's words, Madison immediately grabbed the female zombie by the ankle and dragged her toward the door.
