Chapter 127 Advanced hunters often appear in the form of prey.
"Take them all out."
At Ghostface's command, Jason, Michael, Freddy, and the others pulled out a total of six heads, their mouths taped shut, still twitching slightly, from their respective tactical backpacks.
They held weapons in one hand, and with the other hand they held the heads in their arms as if they were precious treasures, their thumbs already hooked into the edge of the duct tape, ready to tear it open at any moment.
"Tear off the tape as soon as you hear my command," Ghost Face ordered again.
[BUG] Standing to the side, looking at this scene with his hands empty, he felt somewhat lost. He felt like a passerby who had stumbled into a cult's sacrificial ritual.
Seemingly sensing his embarrassment, Ghost Mask turned his head, and a voice came from under his helmet: "Just get ready and jump down with us later."
He paused for a moment: "Of course, if you're scared, it's not too late to back out now."
Provoked by his words, BUG calmed down: "I just didn't know what to do. Now that you mention it, I can't help but jump in with you guys... Besides, I'm also quite curious about what the legendary Net Road is like."
Just then, a violent ripple, like a boulder being thrown into water, came from the space behind the door! The light suddenly surged, and the door creaked under the weight.
"It's now!"
Without hesitation, Ghost Face raised his boot and kicked the "Anywhere Door" hard!
"boom!"
The door shattered with a crash, revealing a tunnel entrance that twisted and spun continuously, seemingly composed of liquid crystal and shadows.
"Jump!"
At a command, the seven people, including Ghost Face, clutching their heads, leaped into the bizarre, glassy entrance without hesitation, like well-trained paratroopers. Bug gritted his teeth and followed suit.
……
The feeling of falling lasted for less than a second.
Bug felt as if he had been thrown into a kaleidoscope, with countless shattered lights, silent screams, and incomprehensible geometric shapes rushing past him. Weightlessness, compression, and tearing sensations acted on him simultaneously, and the armor's built-in stabilization system sounded a piercing alarm.
But it all ended quickly.
When he came to his senses, his feet were already on solid ground. He found himself in a tunnel of unimaginable magnificence. The tunnel walls were not rock or metal, but a white substance resembling fossilized bones, covered with crystalline veins that seemed to flow with captured nebulae and auroras. There was no light source, but the entire space was illuminated by a soft light emanating from the walls themselves.
This is the legendary Net Path, created by the ancient sages and so powerful that even chaos could not erode it.
However, he had no more time to admire this masterpiece of creation. For less than twenty meters in front of them stood a dozen or so Dark Eldar clad in tight-fitting spiked armor and wielding various bizarrely shaped weapons.
“Look what this is? A lost savage monkey?” a male Dark Eldar sneered in their sharp, elegant language, licking his lips. “Looks like our entertainment for today is sorted.” “What an unexpected bonus,” another Dark Eldar toyed with his longsword. “We don’t even need to go hunting; fresh souls are coming to us. Their wails will surely be quite melodious.”
They were like a group of cats who had discovered a mouse that had broken into their granary, their faces filled with cruel mockery and greedy delight.
However, the smile on the face of the female dark spirit who was leading the group suddenly froze when her gaze swept over the group of uninvited guests.
Her gaze was fixed on what Ghostface and the others were holding. She realized what it was—the heads of believers who worshipped "Him," who worshipped the "Dark Prince"... and these heads were still alive!
A primal fear, originating from the depths of her blood, instantly gripped her heart! She immediately understood what these humans wanted to do!
"Run!"
She let out a sharp, distorted scream and turned to run away without thinking.
The surrounding Dark Eldar warriors looked at their leader in astonishment, completely bewildered. They were just a few [Monka]s; why were they so scared?
Ghost Face let out a sinister laugh of triumph: "Run? Will running do any good?!"
"Tear off the tape!"
The six men acted simultaneously, violently tearing the tape off the mouths of the six heads.
In an instant, BUG didn't hear any specific words or sounds. Or rather, an incredibly grand, incredibly filthy, indescribable "sound" exploded directly in his mind!
The entire internet was shaken!
BUG sensed... an unimaginably vast being casting its gaze upon this place from the endless abyss of the warp. A mere glance caused countless twisted, lewd cracks to appear on the surrounding bone-white net-like barrier!
The space above their heads, like a mirror shattered by a tremendous force, was suddenly torn open with a huge gap! A torrent of pinkish-purple subspace energy poured in like a waterfall, instantly corroding the sturdy network structure with a hissing sound.
A massive, elegant head, both terrifying and alluring, slowly emerged from the gap. It was a Slaanesh—a Keeper of the Secrets!
Its eyes swept across the scene, and when it saw the dozen or so Dark Spirits who were terrified, an expression of immense joy and hunger appeared on its handsome yet sinister face.
The hunter instantly became the prey.
A plague of fear erupted among the Dark Eldar. The nearest warrior's legs buckled, and he collapsed to the ground, the stench of the liquid instantly soaking the crotch of his tight-fitting armor. His eyes widened, his mouth moving silently, utterly terrified.
More Dark Eldar screamed inhumanly, frantically rushing towards the depths of the tunnel like headless flies, desperate to get as far away from the rift in the warp as possible.
But even beasts driven to the brink of despair can be driven to the brink. A dark Eldar warrior, after a moment of stunned silence, displayed an expression of utter terror and overwhelming rage. His once handsome face contorted in agony, his eyes bloodshot, and he uttered the most vile curse in the Eldar language. He abruptly turned his poison crystal spear, aiming it at the very culprit—Ghostface!
Then the Dark Eldar saw the masked figure spread its arms and let out a maniacal laugh amidst the symphony of fear, despair, and chaotic energy.
"Hahahaha! I felt it! I felt it! Your fear! Your pain! Your despair!"
His voice echoed through the chaos, filled with unparalleled ecstasy and satisfaction.
"I feel so good! I feel like I'm in heaven! Cry! Shout! Shout! Pain and fear are such wonderful brothers, so delicious, so delicious!"
Ghostface's demeanor and words even briefly drew the attention of the Great Demon, who could sense the confusion and frustration in the other's eyes—like a passerby stealing the spotlight from the main character in a play.
