Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor
Chapter 229 On the Path of Magic
Chapter 229 On the Path of Magic
The two of them chattered on and on about how they had 'left school' with Sirius Black last time.
Why didn't you invite me?
Hermione seemed a little unhappy when she heard this.
"Please—you used a time-tamper, one second you're at the stairwell, the next you're in the cafeteria, we don't even have a chance to talk to you—you've been appearing and disappearing without a trace lately, haven't you realized it yourself?"
"Oh—I'm sorry."
Hermione, upon hearing Ron's words, quickly realized her mistake and even began to reflect further.
“I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed lately—it’s still within my capacity, but I do feel like five elective courses are a bit too many.”
"Hermione—I don't think you need to do this."
Harry spoke up at that moment.
"What did Professor Li Wei say about you signing up for five courses?"
I didn't tell him.
"No way, why?"
"Yes, aren't you in Professor Li Wei's study group? Didn't you say you could ask questions every week?"
Harry and Ron's eyes sparkled—they were incredibly envious of that study group.
"Yes, it's possible—but wouldn't asking such a question seem like showing off? Besides, the time converter must be kept secret and cannot be known by others."
"Not even Professor Li Wei?"
“It probably won’t work.” Hermione shook her head. “And more importantly, I don’t think it’s necessary to tell Professor Levi about this—it’s something he shouldn’t need to discuss at all.”
"Look, he's so outstanding, he must—"
"But he only got nine 'O's in his school days, Hermione."
Harry directly punctured Hermione's fantasy bubble—Professor Levi wasn't as outstanding or, to put it another way, as perfect as she thought.
"real or fake?"
The first to call out was Ron—he seemed even more surprised than Hermione.
"Yes, Sirius told me that, and Professor Levi didn't take the NEWT exam; he just disappeared after graduation."
"incredible."
Hermione stared wide-eyed; she had always taken it for granted that Levi would get 12 'O's.
"So I think—you don't need to do this."
Harry tried to persuade Hermione.
"Do you remember the five stages of spellcasting that the professor mentioned? We have completed the first two stages of basic spells and are now working on getting intermediate spells to reach those two stages as well—but at the same time, our basic spells are ready to enter the third stage."
You know what the third stage is.
"Of course—imagination, goals, and willpower, the professor said, these three stages are equally important, and even in no particular order."
"Yes—so I think what you should be doing is figuring out how to improve your abilities in these three stages—taking so many courses might help broaden your horizons, it can definitely improve your imagination, and maybe it will even improve your willpower in the process."
However, my stronger feeling is that if you're constantly dealing with everything and only chasing the future, you might forget how you feel in the present. This is clearly not worth it.
"Okay. I admit you have a point."
Hermione frowned as she pondered this.
"But Professor Li Wei told me that my path is to continue to solidify my theoretical foundation, to gain confidence and strength from theory, which means improving my goals and willpower. What do you think?" "Hmm—I'm a little unsure about that either."
Harry's tone became hesitant—he felt his magical path was clearly different from Hermione's.
“Your theory is truly unmatched—you used to think it was just cleverness, but Ron and I never thought of it that way, not to mention that Professor Levy is a pioneer in putting theory into practice. Well, maybe you really should ask the professor about this.”
Ron stood beside Hermione, listening to Harry and Hermione's discussion without saying a word.
Merlin, Ron has never heard of what they're talking about before!
Or rather, although Professor Levi's textbooks included these concepts, he hadn't anticipated that Hermione and Harry had already considered this aspect and were thinking about how to put their magical ways into practice.
A fighting spirit quietly rose in Ron's eyes—he also needed to catch up with these two!
Originally, he was just hoping not to be eliminated from the dueling club, but now he undoubtedly wants to pursue more. Will tonight's gains also improve his magical abilities?
Or does it only work on Harry?
If Ron were to make eye contact with Hermione right now, he might be able to glean something from her eyes—coincidentally, that's what she was thinking too.
After Harry and Hermione finished their brief discussion, they noticed Ron's silence and stopped talking about it.
The three of them, wearing invisibility cloaks, ran freely through the tunnel.
Once they emerged from the tunnel, a refreshing breeze blew in from the open countryside, and the three of them poked their heads out of the tunnel with joyful smiles.
But soon, Hermione covered her mouth and pulled her head back—she put her arm around Harry and Ron, pulling them back with her.
"what happened?"
The two looked at Hermione with confusion, feeling the touch of her skin and neck, and were somewhat distracted.
But Hermione's next words quickly sent them scareing.
"Professor Levy is outside! Harry, and you too!"
"It's already past ten o'clock? Good heavens, we've wasted so much time in the corridor."
"It's more accurate to say that Harry and the professor were too fast. How did you two even get here?"
"Oh—we used special magic!"
Harry felt a little embarrassed—he decided to ask his senior, Jowellie, next time he saw him if he could teach Hermione and Ron the Instant Step spell as well.
However, it took him and Cedric several months to learn this magic. If he were to teach Hermione and Ron, would he really be able to?
I can't just unilaterally decide to let them join the morning exercise group, can I?
Although Harry felt that Jowell wouldn't refuse, he couldn't bring himself to do something offensive just because Jowell was so kind.
Fortunately, Hermione and Ron were too preoccupied to pay attention to what Harry meant by the special magic.
"Professor Levy is speaking—is he teaching Harry's servants how to reveal themselves? Can we go over and listen?"
Ron asked—his suggestion startled Harry and Hermione, but Hermione immediately became eager to try it.
“Harry—you stay here, Ron and I will go over there.”
"What?" Harry looked at Hermione in disbelief—they were actually going to exclude him?
This is an experience unlike any I've ever had before.
"Come on, man, you've already heard Professor Levi's guidance, you don't need to go and hear it again, do you? It's too risky for us to be in this Cloak Fortress—we don't need to take that risk, do we?"
"And if you're not here, even if we get caught, it won't be a big problem—this is a good opportunity to test whether Professor Levi can detect us under the cloak."
"Alright—then you guys go ahead."
Harry pursed his lips, watching Ron and Hermione cling to each other as they slipped inside their cloaks and crawled out.
