Chapter 16 Looking back on the past and meditating on the future - hypnotherapy

Chapter 16 Looking back on the past and meditating on the future - hypnotherapy (2)
At this time, the hypnotist can begin to suggest the hypnotized person.

Hypnotist: "Now, you have come to the beach by the sea. Tell me, what have you seen?"

Xiao Qi: "Seagulls, sea water, and many people."

Hypnotist: "Which eye did you see?"

Xiao Qi: "The right eye."

Hypnotist: "Then can you see with your left eye?"

Xiao Qi: "No."

The hypnotist hinted: "Actually, there is nothing wrong with your left eye. As long as you try to look, you will definitely be able to see it." After a pause, the hypnotist asked: "Did you see it at this time?"

Xiao Qi: "Look, I can see it, but it's very blurry."

The hypnotist continued to suggest, "Okay, fine. Now, try to close your right eye and see with only your left eye." After a short pause, the hypnotist asked, "Now, can you see? "

Xiao Qi: "You can see it."

Hypnotist: "Okay, great. You did a great job."

In this process, the hypnotist should use positive and affirmative language hints to enhance the self-confidence of the hypnotized person.

Keep hinting.Hypnotist: "Now, you have come to the endless prairie. Tell me, what have you seen?"

Xiao Qi: "Blue sky, white clouds, and sheep."

Hypnotist: "Is that seen with the left eye, or with the right eye?"

Xiao Qi: "I see it with my eyes."

Hypnotist: "Very good. Now, try to close your right eye and see things with your left eye."

After a pause, the hypnotist asked, "Now, can you see?"

Xiao Qi: "You can see it."

Hypnotist: "Okay, very good."

This process is to suggest that the hypnotized person comes to a place similar to the previous scene, to consolidate the effect of hypnotic suggestion, and to make the hypnotized person believe that his blindness problem has been solved.

The hypnotist continued to hint: "Now, you have come to your own home. Tell me, what do you see?"

Xiao Qi: "The table in my living room."

Hypnotist: "Okay, good. Is that seen with the left eye, or with the right eye?"

Xiao Qi: "I see it with my eyes."

Hypnotist: "Very good. Now, try to close your right eye and use your left eye to see things." After a pause, the hypnotist asked, "Now, can you see?"

Xiao Qi: "You can see it."

Hypnotist: "Okay, very good."

The hypnotist continued to hint: "Then can you see what's on the table?"

Xiao Qi: "There is a magazine."

Hypnotist: "Can you read the words in the magazine clearly?"

Xiao Qi: "Yes."

Hypnotist: "Okay, good. Is that seen with the left eye, or with the right eye?"

Xiao Qi: "I see it with my eyes."

Hypnotist: "Very good. Now, try to close your right eye and see things with your left eye."

After a pause, the hypnotist asked, "Now, can you see?"

Xiao Qi: "Yes."

During this process, the hypnotist suggested that the hypnotized person should see smaller and smaller things to enhance the effect of hypnotic suggestion.

Hypnotist: "Very well, you are doing great. Now, your left eye is fully healed and you can see everything clearly. In a moment, I will count from five to one. When I count to one, You come out of the hypnotic state completely. When you are awake, you can see everything clearly with your left eye."

When the hypnotist counted to one, Xiao Qi woke up from the hypnotic state. At this moment, the hypnotist put one of his hands in front of Xiao Qi's left eye, and asked, "Can you see my hand?"

Xiao Qi: "Yes. But the appearance is still blurry. And my head still hurts."

Hypnotist: "Very good. Your treatment effect is not bad. Blurred appearance and headache are also normal physiological reactions. As long as you take a good rest after you go back, everything will be fine."

Xiao Qi nodded. After Xiao Qi was hypnotized, his eyesight has recovered and has not relapsed.

In fact, the whole process of hypnotic suggestion therapy is that the hypnotist uses positive and affirmative language to give certain hints to the hypnotized person, so as to enhance the self-confidence of the hypnotized person.

A person walks into the freezer and gets accidentally trapped inside.Because it came in unintentionally, I didn't feel that there was anything wrong at the beginning. However, when he saw the word "frozen", he immediately became nervous.A sense of fear of death would shroud his heart, and because of the fear, the adrenaline hormone would be secreted sharply, resulting in a physiological obstacle—myocardium necrosis, which eventually led to death.

Later, the staff found his body curled up and dead, and found it strange.Because the freezing mechanism in the refrigerator has not been activated, that is to say, the temperature in the refrigerator is the same as that of the outside world. In fact, this is entirely a kind of self-suggestion at work.

Suggestion has a great effect on people, whether it is self-suggestion or suggestion from the outside world.

During World War II, German military officers once did such an experiment, that is, they cut the wrists of a large number of Jews, but the wounds were small and did not bleed too much, let alone lead to death. However, the German military officer told the Jews: "The arteries in your wrists have been cut, and you will bleed to death." The German soldiers tied up the Jews and covered their eyes with cloth .

During the whole process, the Jews could hear the sound of ticking, ticking, as if their own blood was being lost bit by bit.Later, these Jews died without exception. In fact, the ticking sound they heard was not the sound of their bleeding, but a dripping sound deliberately set by German officers. And these Jews didn't shed much blood at all, they were completely scared to death. This is also a use of the power of suggestion.

Hypnotic suggestion therapy is a kind of suggestion therapy, and it is generally used in refractory hysteria, and it also has a good therapeutic effect on patients who have failed other treatments. This method is to put the hypnotized person into a state of hypnosis, and the hypnotist uses the influence of his language to strengthen positive beliefs and strengthen the effect of suggestion.

Normal people can accept hypnotic suggestion, but not everyone has strong hypnotic suggestion, and the ability to accept hypnotic suggestion also varies from person to person.Only those who are easy to accept hypnotic suggestion, the treatment method using hypnotic suggestion can play a therapeutic effect on him.

Before performing hypnotic suggestion therapy, the situation must be explained to the relatives or friends of the patient, and their cooperation must be obtained.Otherwise, in the process of hypnotic suggestion therapy, some inappropriate suggestions will lead to treatment failure.

There are many methods of hypnotic suggestion treatment, and different treatment methods can be used for different hypnotized persons.Under normal circumstances, hypnotists use verbal suggestion as a treatment method. However, there are also some patients who are very weak in accepting language cues. This requires the hypnotist to use hypnotic drugs appropriately when necessary. For example, hysterical convulsions are often treated with strong acupuncture and moxibustion, and hysterical blindness and aphonia can be treated with intravenous calcium gluconate.

When using drugs for hypnosis, the hypnotist should first let the hypnotized person lie in a quiet environment and relax the whole body. Then slowly inject 0.25% amital sodium or thiopental sodium into the patient's IV.During the injection process, the hypnotist should communicate with the patient while injecting, or ask the patient to count. When the patient's speech rate becomes slow and ambiguous, it can basically be confirmed that the patient has entered a hypnotic state.

At this time, the hypnotist can carry out suggestion therapy according to the different situations of the individual cases. It should be noted that after the patient enters the hypnotic state, the speed of drug injection should be slowed down to prevent him from falling asleep. When the treatment is terminated, you can continue to inject the drug, let it go to sleep, take a short rest, and everything can return to normal after waking up.

Whether it is self-suggestion or other people's suggestion, it will have a significant impact on people's psychology and behavior.Especially in the state of hypnosis, the effect of the hypnotist's suggestion on the hypnotized person will be more obvious than that in the awake state.

This is because in the state of hypnosis, people's consciousness will enter a special state of deep sleep, which will produce very peculiar physiological reactions. For example, if a person under hypnosis is given a glass of plain water, when the hypnotist suggests that he is drinking a glass of sugar water, the sugar content in his blood will increase significantly.

The influence of hypnotic suggestion therapy on people's behavior and motivation is mainly manifested in the absolute obedience of the hypnotized person to the words of the hypnotist. Moreover, not only completely follow the instructions of the hypnotist during hypnosis, but also follow the instructions when the hypnotized person is in a waking state. This requires the hypnotist to adopt a repetitive method when performing suggestion therapy, so that his language suggestion can have a more profound impact on the hypnotized person.

[-]. Inner child

The "inner child" is a psychological entity that exists in people's hearts from their childhood experiences. In real life, although many people's bodies have grown up, because some basic needs were not met when they were young, or they had the experience of being hurt, these people's hearts actually remain fragile, injured and needy. The childish child who gets the attention, this is our inner child. There is a certain irrationality and primitiveness to our inner child.

Inner Child Therapy is a kind of psychotherapy that has attracted quite a lot of attention in recent years.Different scholars or theories have inconsistent interpretations of the "inner child", and there are mainly two mainstreams, psychoanalysis and psychosynthesis. However, "inner child" is basically a metaphor, and the main difference among different scholars lies in the different objects of the metaphor.According to the different metaphorical objects, "inner children" can be roughly divided into five types; according to different types of "inner children", different treatment directions are derived.

1. The metaphor of the "inner child" as a traumatic memory from the past.Such an inner child is immature and easily fearful and anxious. For such an inner child, we need to take care and comfort, and help the inner child grow up.

Therefore, the goal of treatment is to identify important traumatic memories. This memory can be a memory of an event, or just an emotional memory (feeling pain, but can't remember what happened), as mature adults. To comfort the wounded inner child by myself, let the inner child change from immature to mature, no longer easy to worry and fear, and help the inner child grow up.

2. Use the "inner child" as a metaphor for the pure self-state in childhood. With the process of socialization, people will implicitly think that maturity means not being childish, so they begin to dislike the "inner child" and gradually hide the spontaneous, playful, and innocent state of mind in their hearts. This will cause a separation between yourself and the inner child, which will cause some emotional problems. Some scholars believe that the alienated interpersonal relationship in the metropolis is caused by people being far away from their inner children.

Therefore, the goal of treatment is to "recover childlike innocence".The therapist should help the client find an appropriate situation to recreate the feelings the client experienced as a child (especially good and bad feelings related to being with parents), so that the client can feel belonging and coming home. Feel.

3. Metaphorize the "inner child" as a transcendent state of existence.Such an inner child has two sides. On the one hand, it has power beyond ordinary human nature, and on the other hand, it feels very helpless to the external environment. That is to say, such an inner child has two characteristics of pain and transcendence at the same time. When facing the challenges of reality and the tribulations of life, it is painful, but when looking back at the heart, it can feel the transcendent power of existence itself.

Therefore, in the process of treatment, it is not only to soothe painful memories, or to restore the innocence of childhood, but also to avoid inner fears and desires, or subconscious conflicts, and at the same time return to the inner heart, obey With the guidance and expectation of the inner child, feel the transcendent power of your own existence.

Here, the inner child is no longer an object to be cared for, but an existence with pure spirituality. It is very different from the first two types of inner children. This type of inner child is the life guide of the client, that is to say, the client is led by the inner child instead.

The above three types actually include three important goals of psychotherapy, namely: healing past trauma, restoring spontaneity and innocence, learning discipline and accepting guidance.

For a psychologically healthy and mature person, all three aspects need to grow.Appropriate treatment should be given to the psychological trauma that has occurred in the past; the over-repressed self should be relaxed; people who are in social situations but lack self-discipline and the ability to be considerate of others also need to be given a basic and appropriate degree of socialization Training, that is, learning some discipline and order.

4. Think of the "inner child" as a sub-personality of yourself. (Subpersonality refers to the whole body of behaviors, feelings, or thoughts that an individual retains at a certain moment in life based on the needs of survival.)
The reason why people have all kinds of psychological problems is that they are too identified with or neglected one or some sub-personalities, and at the same time lack the ability to integrate various sub-personalities.

The number of sub-personalities is infinite, and in the course of therapy, the therapist usually encourages the client to refer to the various sub-personalities of the client with a symbolic term. For example, "victim", "superman", "little princess", "injured child", "caring parent", etc. Then guide the visitor to unify all the sub-personality under the ego that transcends the sub-personality, that is, to cultivate the ability of the visitor to integrate the sub-personality.

The biggest difference between this type of inner child and the first three types is that the first three types all believe that there is only one inner child, and the person who regards the inner child as a subpersonality means that his inner child There are many. That is to say, a person can have "an injured inner child", "an inner child longing for father's love", "an inner child who pursues freedom", "an inner child who is grumpy and impatient", etc. at the same time. These many inner children will continue to have conflicts and disputes in the individual's heart, but there is a lack of dialogue with each other, thus causing various psychological troubles in the individual.

Therefore, in the process of treatment, the therapist should assist the inner children of the visitor to have a sincere dialogue with each other, so that the visitor can stand on a psychological height beyond the self and integrate the needs of all inner children.

5. Metaphorize the "inner child" as a healing process from injury to recovery. The inner child here refers to a change in relationship, including the relationship between the client and the therapist, the client and other important people in the past life, the client and various objects in modern life, and the relationship between the client and himself.

In people's communication experience with others, the learned relationship may be tense, hostile, stressful, and criticized, which will force the individual to face the external world with an attitude of defense, conflict, and struggle, and even take a harsh attitude. attitude to face yourself.

So, throughout the treatment process, it is done through the interaction between the client and the therapist.During the treatment process, the client can feel through the communication with the therapist that the relationship between people can be free, equal, open and accepting, and practice how to use a positive attitude in this good relationship. attitude towards self and others.
