The Kryptonian girl glanced furtively at Shen You, only to meet his displeased gaze.

"Sneaking in on my computer to play games, huh?" Shen You chuckled.

"I'm so sorry! But I was just curious and wanted to check your browsing history... no, I mean..."

Kara was flustered, but after realizing there was something fishy about the rope, she quickly untied it and shoved it into her cousin's hand as if it were too hot to handle.

While Clark was sipping his coffee, completely unsuspecting, a rope was suddenly shoved into his hand, the noose tightening and binding his wrist. Clark immediately frowned, muttering to himself as if deep in thought, "They said my uniform is outdated and ugly, and they even made fun of me for wearing my underwear on the outside."

Daisy, who hosts a talk show in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, also said that the biggest difference between me and Batman is that one wears his underwear on the outside while the other wears it on his head.

Actually, I think my uniform is fine, okay? Maybe I should change to something more fashionable and trendy.

He suddenly snapped out of his reverie halfway through his speech, realizing that he had been talking to himself aloud while lost in thought. Turning around, he saw everyone in the room staring at him with amused expressions.

But he didn't seem to care much. He just scratched his head a little embarrassedly and gave a polite but slightly awkward smile.

Diana smiled and held out her hand, and Clark handed the lasso back to the heroine.

“The truth lasso,” Diana smiled. “Everyone eventually tells the truth.”

She turned to look at Shen You: "Want to give it a try?"

Her eyes flickered, as if there was still a hint of anticipation in them.

“I’ll pass on that,” Shen You said, then added, “I think you’ve only unlocked a small part of your potential, Diana. I believe that with a little research, I can find a way to make you much stronger than you are now.”

"Thank you, but I'm fine for now," Diana smiled.

Shen You smiled but remained silent.

Diana herself probably knew that she was far from reaching her limit, and perhaps this was even intentional. She was deliberately suppressing her divine side, and once she accepted her complete liberation, even Wonder Woman in her normal state would already be one of the top fighters on Olympus.

However, Diana will eventually accept herself.

Sooner or later.

“Sir, we’ve made a discovery regarding the engine issue,” Pal whispered in his ear.

"Oh? Tell me."

"We hacked into the Coast City Air Force's systems and located the crashed experimental prototype project. It was named X-2020, and its development was a collaboration between the Air Force and a company called Kirkt Aerospace."

In addition, our radar just detected an energy signal similar to an engine in a warehouse at an air force base in Coastal City.

As he spoke, Pal marked a small green dot on the map.

"And judging from the readings, whatever the source of that signal, it seems to have just been activated."

Two chapters today, 5000+ words each. I'll be featured on the recommendation list tomorrow. I heard that during the recommendation period, they'll be looking at subscription growth and comparing it with other books.

I'll save up the manuscript and try to write 10,000 words tomorrow.

Chapter 181 The Guardian Knows Everything

Seaside city, air force base.

"Korctor is a Gotham City-based aerospace company that became the main partner of Beach City Air Force after Ferris Air Force suffered a flight accident and its contract was terminated by the Air Force."

On the way to the coastal city, Pal showed Shen You the information he had found.

"I hacked into some classified information on the internal servers and discovered a project file called 'X-2020.' It was a space project contracted by Kirkker earlier this year, aiming to design an engine that would surpass all modern fighter jets."

As Shen You listened, he quickly scanned the information displayed in the document.

"Well, it's less of a design and more of a transplant." A rough, black design drawing flashed quickly in front of Shen You.

It's clear that the designers had no understanding of the engine's technology and principles. They simply copied and pasted alien technology they'd seen somewhere into this aircraft, and some of the most jarring parts show that it was significantly downgraded compared to the original design.

Even so, the plane's engine exploded shortly after takeoff. If he and Kara hadn't happened to be passing by, the plane would have been reduced to ashes.

"There's another interesting thing about Kirkert, sir. It was also during the project's inception that a scandal broke out within Kirkert Space."

The CEO of Kirkpat Aerospace has reportedly been arrested for an act of indecent assault.

"Is there still such a thing?"

Shen You received the news that Pal had mentioned in the interface. The headline was about the arrest of Chairman Kirkter, and the report contained a tearful accusation from a female victim that the seemingly respectable old man had lured her into a room and assaulted her for a full minute.

The matter itself is nothing special, but the fact that it happened to fall at the same time as the initiation of this crucial project makes it slightly noteworthy.

“We are approaching the warehouse at the Third Air Force Base in Seaside City,” Parr said. “Flight navigation has ended.”

So Shen You temporarily crossed out these contents and took over the manual landing of the armored vehicle.

Night had fallen, and silence enveloped the entire base. Towering watchtowers stood all around, the outlines of imposing and solemn facilities were faintly visible, and sleeping tanks stood quietly nearby.

The mobile armor landed while maintaining stealth mode. Shen You followed the activated energy signal and quickly located the corresponding warehouse.

The warehouse was secured with aerospace-grade titanium alloy doors, reinforced with multiple composite structures, and equipped with a lock combining mechanical and electronic components. It was heavily guarded, but of course, it would be useless against an alien with the ability to walk through walls.

He got in without any problems.

"Very good, now keep your eyes peeled," Shen You said. "Trace the source of the radiation."

"Got you!"

A man's voice rang out in mid-air. A dazzling green light suddenly dispelled the darkness, and a layer of green, transparent dome descended from the sky, the green light forming the shape of an iron cage that trapped Shen You inside.

"Ok?"

Shen You turned his head and looked. He saw a cool and arrogant guy floating in mid-air, his whole body shining like a green sun, wearing a black and green uniform, an eye patch covering his cheekbones, and a conspicuous light ring on his chest.

There's no mistake. Hal Jordan, the guardian of Beach City, a founding member of the Justice League, and the second Green Lantern.

The ring on his hand is said to be "the most powerful weapon in the universe," granting him various abilities such as flight, interstellar travel, super strength, and energy projection. It can also transform energy into weapons and entities of any shape according to the holder's imagination.

Take, for example, the cage that's holding Shen You in right now.

“I was quite surprised when the Lamp Ring reported that there were aliens on Earth,” Hal said in a deep voice. “Now let’s see which galaxy you’re from.”

"No results found," Green Light Ring's voice reported in his ear.

"Clam?"

Hal stared in astonishment at the light ring on his fist.

"Impossible. Light ring, match again. Tell me which galaxy he's from?"

"No results found." The green light ring gave the same feedback.

“Impossible.” Hal was even more astonished. “The Lamp Ring knows everything the Guardians know, and the Guardians are omniscient! How could this be…?”

Shen You chuckled. He could tell at a glance that this was Hal, a newbie who had only been with the company for a few days. Hal would soon realize that there was a lot the Guardians didn't know.

"Calm down, buddy," Shen You chuckled. "It's inevitable to have an off day."

Just then, a loud bang came from the back of the warehouse. The two looked over at the same time and saw the wall crack open, energy burst out, and a robot appeared outside the door, its body crackling with sparks.

"No one can escape the Zzzzt Machine Hunter."

Shen You narrowed his eyes, and the scanner quickly locked onto the robot.

Wow, so this is the source of the alien technology in the engine.

Robot Hunter, the villain in the early Green Lantern stories.

It's said that, based on the relative theorem of freedom and the lighthouse, in every parallel universe there's a group of Pacific Rim police officers who consider world security their responsibility. DC also has such a group, the creators of the Green Lantern Corps, whose superiors are a group of little blue men known as the "Guardians."

Around three billion years ago, a group of unvoted and unauthorized little blue people proclaimed themselves protectors of the universe. Somehow, they decided that the universe was their backyard and were determined to build an interstellar peacekeeping force to maintain cosmic security.

Before the Green Lantern Corps, the first force they deployed was this mechanical legion called the "Machine Hunters." Each Machine Hunter possesses formidable combat power and is scattered throughout the universe to combat evil and maintain peace, making them the earliest interstellar peacekeeping forces.

But as everyone knows, AI was created with the intention of one day going berserk. The Machine Hunter Legion lived up to expectations and went berserk, causing an epic massacre that wiped out almost all life in the entire galaxy within Sector 666. Since then, the Machine Hunters have been abandoned, and they have been replaced by the Green Lantern Corps.

"What are you?"

Hal frowned and raised the lamp ring towards the other party.

"Light ring, activate the identification program. Tell me what this thing is."

"No results found," Deng Jie replied crisply.

This is only natural. Although the robot hunters were created by the Guardians, they are a highly classified secret within the Green Lantern Corps. At present, no Green Lantern knows that the little blue man's superior had a predecessor before them.

Hal's eyes widened in disbelief.

"No results found, again no results found? Then what the hell do you know?"

The ring proudly replied, "The Guardian knows everything."

"So, if you know everything, then tell me what these two things are?"

No results found.

"What the hell?"

A dangerous red glint flashed in the robot's eyes.

"No one can escape the machine hunter."

Seeing that the other party seemed about to make a move, the universe's number one brute, Green Lantern, naturally didn't back down. He turned to Shen You, who was trapped inside the green lantern, and said...

"Wait here and see if Green Lantern can kick this robot's ass properly before he comes back to ask you questions."

Shen You remained calm and unhurried. All the sensors and scanners on his side were ready, and all the cameras were in place, pointed at Hal's ring, making him look like a bystander who had pulled out a small stool and was eating popcorn.

Hal rose into the air, his entire body enveloped in green light.

"Don't worry, Green Lantern will handle this!"

With that, he charged headlong at the machine hunter.

The dazzling green light almost filled the entire warehouse.

Half a second later, Green Lantern's head snapped back, he spat out a mouthful of blood, and was kicked back even faster than when he left, rolling several times.

"Cough cough. That's impossible." Hal looked up at the robot hunter in astonishment. "The Lantern Ring is the most powerful weapon in the universe, how could it be..."

"I already said, it's inevitable that I might have an off day."

Shen You squatted down next to Hal and reached out his hand to him.

"The universe is vast and full of wonders. It's not unusual to occasionally encounter a lamp ring that you don't recognize or can't defeat."
