Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star
Chapter 111 - Ch. 111 Diego's Birthday
On the 20th, the temperature in Seattle had started to drop drastically, and everyone had to wear thick, warm clothes when leaving the house.
That morning Chleo got up very early to prepare breakfast and a steak so Diego could heat it when her brother wanted lunch. After that, she went into Diego's room quietly so as not to wake the boy. Then Chleo bent and kissed her sleeping brother's cheek.
"Happy birthday, my little bro. You're not so little anymore, though," she whispered with an amused smile and then let her brother fall into a deep sleep as usual.
Usually, when Chleo sneaked into his room to wish him his birthday, Diego would wake up as soon as he felt the kiss. But this time, he didn't wake up and was still asleep in his sleep. He was dreaming. A dream that couldn't be called a good one neither could be called a nightmare.
Diego was currently standing in front of someone's grave. He didn't even realize that he was dreaming as if what he was doing right now was real.
Diego was staring at the tomb that was written a name he admired very much.

"How long are you going to stand before your sister's grave? She wouldn't want to see her beloved brother get sick." there was a sweet voice behind him, but Diego ignored it.
"Have you found them?"
"I'm sorry. That person is very good at eliminating his traces." was the answer making Diego's hands clenched tightly.
"You want to see your sister again. I know a way to fulfill your wish."
Diego didn't budge from his spot. "Tell me."
"Have you heard of the ruler of nature? One of them can take you back in the past."
Diego's lips twitched at that. Ruler of nature? What's that? And what does it mean that one of the rulers of nature can take him back in the past?
When Diego was about to turn to the person's voice, Diego woke up from his strange dream. His heart felt uneasy, as if something was breaking his heart when he remembered that his sister had passed away.
But as soon as he realized what he was seeing was just a dream, Diego breathed a sigh of relief and drove the scene away from his mind. He didn't want to think anything bad of his sister because his sister was alive, healthy, and happy.
Not long after, a loud, melodic sound came from his phone, making him groan in frustration.
"Ugh! What an awful dream." He blamed his dream that came unexpectedly for making his mood cloudy.
Usually, Diego was woken up by his sister or mother when they kiss him on the cheek. But now, he had woken up because of the nightmare. As if it wasn't enough, the ringing sound of his phone made his heart even more restless.
Diego had tried to shake off the feeling of loss and get rid of the scene of his sister's grave. Alas, he couldn't get rid of it at all as if he had experienced it… or maybe he would?
Diego shook his head vigorously, trying to dispel this negative thought. Then he immediately took his phone, which kept ringing non-stop, and picked up a call from his mother.
But what he heard on the speakerphone was not his mother's voice but the noise of small kids.
"HELLO DIEGO! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!"
Diego had to keep the phone away from his ear because the voice from the other side was so noisy. Moreover, not only one spoke, but it was like dozens of people talking and yelling at him in one go.
Diego glanced at his smartphone screen to double-check who had contacted him, and it turned out to be from his family's main house?
Is it his birthday now? But why the one who called him small kids?
Thanks to that unexpected ugly dream, Diego's brain was slow to process and only realized that another big family had started gathering in New York in the last few days.
"Diego, why did you go out of town? Where are you coming home?"
"Hey, I want to talk to him too."
"Me first…"
"No, me first…."
Tut… tut… tut… And that was the end of the call before Diego even had time to say hi to them.
Diego sighed in resignation. This is the fate of bringing all little monsters together in one place and fight over the phone.
Diego came out of his room to turn on his black orb so he could see the faces of the little monsters who were very enthusiastic about wishing him a happy birthday.
Once lit, Diego immediately contacted the contact that connected to the black orb at his residence. There was no need to wait for more than two rings, the black orb was instantly connected, and various faces appeared there.
"Diego! Happy birthday! When will you coming home! Let's play soccer again."
"No! He has promised me to play cars and planes."
"Aiya, it's only for children."
"We are children, you know!"
Diego chuckled to see Kenken having a heated argument with Henrich, the youngest son of Tanya, former Alpha III.
"Fufufu… that's too bad. Diego has promised us to read us storybooks." Moni did not want to budge, and Meli nodded her head in agreement with enthusiasm, causing all her brothers to go silent.
"…"
"…"
No one dared to argue with little Moni. They had all been taught to yield to the younger and unlucky for them, Harmonie Calvin and Melodie Alvianc were the youngest and the most cohesively wanted to monopolize Diego.
Seeing his younger cousins who were busy fighting over playtime but K.O in front of two little girls made Diego laugh out loud. Ah, he missed them all so much.
"So when will you and Chleo come home? We miss you all."
"We'll be back in four days. After that, we will play together!" cheered Diego in a lighter mood as if he had never seen the ugly scene in his dream.
"Yeah!!" exclaimed all the children until the shriek made Diego laugh once again.
Diego was still chatting enthusiastically with his younger cousins before his mother came to take over. His mother advised him not to forget to eat after wishing him a birthday.
Diego also realized that there were many chats from his friends who wished him a birthday on his smartphone. Most of them grumbled that Diego didn't want to celebrate his birthday for the nth time.
Well, Diego didn't like celebrating his birthday. He felt that every time he had a birthday, he felt closer and closer to continuing his father's company. He wished to play and have fun as long as possible.
Yup. He was just like Vincent, who didn't immediately want to continue his father's company. The boy preferred to spend his teenage years having fun first before he finally enters the world of work.
After talking for almost two hours, Diego ended the call and headed for the kitchen. He saw a note from his sister telling him breakfast was ready and there was a steak in the fridge to reheat in case he was still hungry.
While enjoying his sister's breakfast, he checked the chats piled up on his smartphone one by one. One of them was from Evangeline Bernz.
'Yuhuuu super duper annoying brother. Happy birthday and I hope you can reduce your annoying behavior. You know your birth time is still 4 p.m., but I decided to say it now, so you get older quickly. Muahahahaha!'
Diego slapped his forehead after reading the message. What an annoying auntie! Can't she wish him normally?
After finishing tidying up his food utensils, Diego decided to play online games with his friends who had invited him to join their team.
In the afternoon, a package was addressed to him, which turned out to be his favorite type of tart and the model he liked very much.
Ah, his sister was indeed the best!
Then Diego ate the steak that had been heated and then continued playing online games. After feeling satisfied playing games, Diego read magazines and comic books while waiting for his sister to return. Unknowingly the clock was almost four o'clock, and for some reason, his head felt dizzy.
Maybe because he just sat playing and reading a book all day, so his head became dizzy now. Diego decided to stop his reading and walk into the backyard for some fresh air. His body was shivering with cold when the cold air strikes his body.
Unbeknownst to him, the clock which had shown 15.59 turned into 16.00. That's when his head was attacked by excruciating pain.
'Someone used you to threaten your sister.' Strangely, he felt like he heard voices in his mind.
'As you suspect, that guy isn't after Alexis Peskhov. He's after your sister.'
After his sister? What does it mean? Who is after his sister and not Alexis Peskhov?
Diego felt like his head was being stabbed by a thousand needles, and when he looked up at the sky, suddenly the sky that was supposed to be still light turned dark. There he saw tens or maybe hundreds of mysterious purple circles rotating around each other. That's when Diego's vision blackened out.
That morning Chleo got up very early to prepare breakfast and a steak so Diego could heat it when her brother wanted lunch. After that, she went into Diego's room quietly so as not to wake the boy. Then Chleo bent and kissed her sleeping brother's cheek.
