Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 129 - Ch. 129 Diego's Early Gift

Stanley Calvins was a former Zero III of the elite Paxton family organization. He was one of the best Zero members due to his second to none programming abilities.

One of the digital program creations was Tiffany, which was destroyed when Katie's heart stopped beating within the allotted time limit.

After that incident, Stanley again tried to make a program that functions as a tracking device at Vincent's request, and he made it so that tracking machine devices could not detect it.

He inserted this tracking chip into Chleo's camellia bracelet. The girl knew nothing about the chip, but they would be able to track down Chleo and find out where the girl was if anything untoward happened.

Seeing that Chleo's carelessness was beyond help, they couldn't attach the program to the other accessory items. They knew Chleo would never lose her precious bracelet or take it off, so they purposely embedded the chip into her bracelet.

The program was on standby and would only activate when Chleo was in danger. The pendulum would be directly connected to Vincent's smartphone if the girl screamed or broken.

Apart from these two incidents, the chip would not activate.

Stanley also installed the same tracking device for his three children even though he no longer needed it because he had retired from his profession.

He didn't want to create enemies that could harm his family, so he decided to live in Delft with his wife and three children. He could start a new life as an ordinary person, and no one recognized him as Hunter other than his family.

During his stay in Europe, he tried to recreate the second Tiffany. Only this time, he also included a visual program in it.

A human visual would appear every time the holder wants to communicate through a device that would be the resource of the chip.

This was more like when two humans communicate with each other face to face. The difference was that one is a human while the other is just a program.

Even more impressive, this human visual could appear visible to the human eye while it couldn't be seen by the human eye depending on the owner's will.

To make it invisible to human eyes, but the owner still could see it, he needed special glasses connected to this program.

Stanley had been working on it for three years, and he planned to give it as a gift for Diego's 17th birthday.

He has a purpose for why he gave this gift to the boy. His instincts told him that Diego's character was a mixed combination of Vincent and Kinsey. If Chleo's nature was a mix of her foster parents, who both have a soft and loving heart, yet fearless and adventurous, Diego was more like Kinsey, who likes to challenge danger to get his adrenaline pumping.

Stanley knew Vincent was apprehensive about his two children and wanted to keep them away from the underworld, which was full of dangers, if possible.

But neither Chleo nor Diego would stay kids forever. They would grow and determined the path of their own life choices. Because of that, they will not be able to prevent it if Diego throws himself into a dangerous situation one day.

All they could do now was provide adequate protection. One of them is this second Tiffany program.

However, never did he expected Diego would find out his plan and ask for it right now!

"Uncle Stanley, I know you have prepared a present for my 17th birthday."

"What?"

"I know it's a year early, but can I ask for it now?"

"How did you know I had prepared a present for you?"

"You told me..." Before Stanley could ask what he meant, Diego continued his answer. "In my dream." he gave his uncle a mischievous smile.

"You think I'll buy it? It was just a dream. After all, your gift isn't perfect yet."

"It's only put on a visual face and voice, right. I have a face that I want. And also, I have prepared a name I like for it."

"…" This boy even knew what he was going to give him? "Diego, how did you know this?"

Diego sighed heavily. "If I told you, I'm not sure you would believe me."

"Try me. If you heard my experience when I was young, you probably wouldn't believe it either. There is something beyond the human logic, after all."

"Is it? What kind?"

Stanley smiled broadly at that. "Tell me what your situation is like before I tell you mine."

Diego scratched the nape of his non-itchy neck awkwardly. Even though he had memories until he was 22 years old and had memories of having fought against dozens of criminals whom he suspected of killing his sister, Diego was still nothing in front of this former Zero III.

"I can only say I met a person who can't be called an ordinary human. It's a human, but at the same time, It's not."

Stanley began to take his nephew's words seriously because he had met the person his nephew probably meant. It was just that he never expected Vincentius' son to meet a ruler.

Regrettably, Stanley's guess was wrong. The person in question was not the lord of nature but the blessing child whom Vectis protected.

"And then?" Stanley asked, encouraging Diego to continue.

"They only warned me that there would be danger around my family. One way to prevent that from happening is to have your gift sooner."

"Was this person the one who told you what kind of gift I had prepared?"

"Yes," Diego answered without showing any sign of lying.

The truth is, Diego knew his uncle had prepared something for him because he had memories of his past life.

"Alright. I believe you."

"You do?"

"But just so you know. As long as the danger you're referring to comes from humans, you can protect your family effortlessly. But… if it weren't from humans, even the program I created wouldn't be able to help you."
