"Miss Chleo?"

"Who are you? What do you want from me? Why do you want to kill me?"

Chleo was sure the creature in front of her was Vectis because of the unusual figure himself. Surprisingly, the Vectis smiled gently at her as he answered her question.

"I didn't want to kill you, miss. Instead, I have come to save you. Luckily I came just in time."

"Come save me? How can I trust you?"

"If I said Mr. Diego asked for my help, would you believe it?"

"Diego? You know Diego?"

"That's right. I disguised as you at the gala show last February. I am Miss Yuna's Vectis."

Yuna? As in... Yuna Miyazaki?

"I'm on your side, miss. I would never bring you harm."

It was only then that Chleo breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed her muscles. She glanced at Ashley, who was still fast asleep, then remembered what the girl had said about miracles.

"You're right, Ashley. Miracles do appear again. Who would have thought that there would be Vectis willing to save us?"

Vectis just smiled at Chleo's soft words. He was both relieved and happy that he managed to save Chleo and her friend in time.

"Do you have a name?"

"We don't have a name. We're just called Vectis, and everyone calls us Vectis."

"Then how do you guys call each other?"

"We rarely meet face to face. We communicate through our horns."

"Horn?"

Vectis pointed at the horn in the middle of his head, "This horn will catch any information or news that is happening in our world. And a while ago, I heard that two humans had infiltrated our world, so the higher-ups wanted to exterminate them with a hurricane."

What? The higher-ups immediately decided to kill the intruder instead of being caught first?

"Miss, how did you come here? The portal between the two worlds has been shut. Even I can't enter the human world. So how did you and your friends end up here?"

Chleo exhaled a heavy sigh before answering his question, "I wish I knew the answer too. Can you bring us back?"

Vectis shook his head sadly. "I'm sorry. As long as the portal door is locked, we won't be able to return to the human world. You also can't be caught by the inhabitants here. They never let intruders roam their world alive."

"Isn't that unfair? Vectis can roam in our world, but humans can't be here?

Vectis smiled faintly in response. "I don't think that's fair."

"Then what happens if a lot of Vectis appear in our world?"

"It will not happen. To cross into the human world, a Vectis must get permission from the king. If anyone violates and injures a human with his power, Aslan will awaken and destroy the Vectis."

"Aslan? Who is that?"

"In a way, he is the creator of this world as well as the one who gives power to the rulers of nature."

Chleo's mouth opened when she heard that. So the emergence of the rulers of nature because of Aslan who gave them power?

"Hmm…" a giddy voice began to sound from Ashley, distracting Chleo.

"Hey, sleepyhead, you had a great sleep."

Ashley pretended to frown at her new nickname. Then she promptly woke up and was surprised to see Vectis in front of them.

"Take it easy. He is on our side. I just found out that he is an acquaintance of my brother."

"What? Where is this?"

"This is where I live. You are safe here for the time being."

"For how long? Did you know someone out there is after Chleo? She couldn't be here too long and had to come back right now. What if they found Chleo here? What would happen to her if something like this happened again? She was lucky that someone managed to save her in time, but what about the next one? What if no one helps her?"

"Whoa! Calm down Ashley, what's wrong with you?" Chleo was a bit amused to see Ashley's sudden change in attitude like a mother screaming to protect her child.

"Calm? How can I calm down?! Do you know how many times you've almost died before my eyes? And the tornado incident was the worst. Chleo, did you do anything wrong in your previous life? Why would anyone insist on killing you?"

"I don't believe there is a previous or next life. We only live once."

"But you believe in the ruler of nature having power." Ashley quipped as she folded her arms in front of her chest.

"How could I not believe it after witnessing it myself? This and that are two different stories."

"But…"

"Never mind. What matters is that I'm still alive. Now, what should we do?" Chleo asked Vectis, who was still standing quietly.

"You'd better stay here first and don't leave this place. Try not to let any other Vectis see your face so that no one will know that there are humans in this place. I will find out what the purpose of the Vectis who are after Miss Chleo is and also find a way to bring you back to your world."

"I think that's a pretty good idea. We promise we won't get out of here." Chleo said, preventing Ashley from speaking further.

Ashley didn't want just to sit there and wait for death to come their way. She also wanted to go out looking for a method to leave this bizarre and dangerous realm. But what Vectis said was true. Right now, she wasn't in the human world, so she couldn't possibly move freely in this place.

Ashley could only just give up and accept Vectis's suggestion not to get out of this place.

Vectis informed them that there were foods such as vegetables and fish in the vault. The vegetables meant were different kinds of vegetables in the human world, but they still looked edible. On the other hand, the fish frozen in the ice chest created by Vectis didn't look like fish in the human world.

The fish had two legs and a sharp mouth shape like a swordfish shape.

Vectis also gave fire stones to them to start a fire if they needed to cook. There were no gas stoves or refrigerators in this world because each Vectis could create fire and keep the temperature cool in a chest.

The two girls only needed to hit the stone three times on the ground, then throw it into the wood, and then fire came out of the stone.

All the necessities in that place were sufficient to keep the two girls neither cold nor hungry for three days.
