Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star
Chapter 264 - Ch. 264 Max's Cold Treatment
Since three hours ago, Max had contacted Chleo to ask her out. But the girl didn't answer the call, which made Max think she was busy with her studies.
Max tried to call Chleo for the next half hour, and again she didn't pick up. Max contacted her again and again until negative thoughts invaded his mind.
He was sure that no matter how busy Chleo was, she would text him or call him back.
But no reply or news from the girl made him think someone had kidnapped her.
However, he was sure that the party planning to harm Chleo was not Vectis or another mystical creature. Because right now, the Vectis portal door has been locked by Aslan so that for decades to come, there would be no Vectis roaming this human world.
In the end, Max ordered Falcon to help him find Chleo.
Max could still track the girl's whereabouts through the energy seed he planted on Chleo's ring before her memories returned. But he could longer feel it ever since Chleo recalled her previous life and avoided him.
It looks like the seeds were dead before they could bloom. Max was worried about not finding Chleo, and he was almost tempted to ask Diego for help in tracking Chleo.
But Falcon managed to feel the energy of Chleo's life in the restaurant area of this city. Alas, Falcon didn't know the exact location of Chleo's current position because there were so many restaurants lined up in the area.
Max directly teleported to the area and looked for Chleo while calling the girl repeatedly.
His eyes darted in all directions until a pair of blue eyes caught the figure he was looking for through the glass walls of one of the restaurants.
The world around him seemed to stop rotating when he saw his wife sitting opposite another man. Chatting casually, laughing, and also… the girl seemed extraordinarily more comfortable with the boy.
Max watched the two of them with a hurt look, and his heart was like being slashed by a knife. He slowly put his smartphone back into his pants pocket.
He even tucked his hands into his trouser pockets because he felt his cold energy was about to come out to vent all his emotions. Max could barely control his feelings, so he decided to close his eyes.
He didn't want to see any intimate scenes between the couple and focused instead on calming himself down.
Max, you've lived a century in this world. Your self-control should be perfect. Max scolded himself and managed to keep his cold energy under control.
Just as he opened his eyes again, he saw Chleo and Alexis coming out of the restaurant. Once again, they showed an intimacy that could burn jealousy at Max.
He felt jealous, and he wanted to walk across this street to catch his wife. But he refrained from doing so.
Max didn't want to repeat the same mistake.
Max was still standing there even though the young couple had separated. He didn't even feel the vibration of the smartphone that had been ringing in his pocket.
No. Max was aware that someone was calling him, and he knew who was currently calling him. But Max wasn't in the least bit interested in talking to the girl.
At least for now, he didn't want to talk to Chleo.
However, his hands have moved on their own without being instructed by his brain and slide the screen to receive a call.
Max just put his phone to his ear without making a sound.
"Max! I'm so sorry. I didn't know you called me. Is there anything you want to talk to me about?"
Should a guy have a reason to call his lover? Doesn't the girl know that Max misses her and wants to meet her?
Didn't Chleo know that for the past two hours, Max's heart was beating with fright because he thought something terrible had happened to her?
But as it turned out, the girl met another man. The girl even enjoyed the chat and had fun with the guy.
If so, what should he do?
Max did say he would never abandon Chleo or leave her. But, what should he do if it turns out that Chleo leaves him?
Wasn't that girl willing to give him a chance? What kind of opportunity would Chleo give if the girl met another man behind his back?
"Max?"
"Where are you now?"
"I… I was in the dining area."
"So you've eaten."
"Not yet. I haven't had dinner yet," answered Chleo quickly.
Was it just her feelings, or did Max's voice sounds cold and uninspired to her ears?
"Did you meet someone there?"
Ba-thump!
Even though they weren't facing to face, why did she feel that Maximillian could immediately guess what she was doing?
"Yeah, I met a friend," Chleo answered honestly because now she only viewed Alexis as a friend.
Unfortunately, Max didn't know Chleo's decision and believed Chleo was lying to him.
"I see. Enjoy your time, then."
"Ah? But…"
Tut. Tut. Tut.
Chleo looked at her phone in bewilderment. That guy hangs up on her? Max never did it before. What happened?
Chleo tried to contact Maximillian, but the call was diverted to the voice box, indicating that the man had turned off his phone.
Wait a minute. Maximillian turned off his phone right after he was done talking to her??
What actually happened?
Not knowing how to give up, Chleo tried to contact the man while glancing in any direction, and her eyes caught the figure of a white eagle above her.
Isn't that... Falcon?
That means…
Chleo immediately walked to the side of the road to call a taxi, then called her brother.
"Diego, I need your help. Tell me Maximillian's location right now."
Diego was taken aback by Chleo's request. Usually, Max or his father would ask him to track Chleo's whereabouts, but why is it reversed now?
And again… why does everyone always run to him every time they want to find someone?
Ah… this must be because he has the helper Miyu that his uncle gave him.
Max tried to call Chleo for the next half hour, and again she didn't pick up. Max contacted her again and again until negative thoughts invaded his mind.
