Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 76 - Ch. 76 Visit Chleo's Campus

Max parked his car right in the Seattle University parking lot. At first, he was sure he was not interested in the black-haired girl Fye, and Dietrich often showed.

But now he wasn't sure anymore. Ever since he saw the figure of a little girl in his room, his heart raced to meet the girl directly.

He purposely didn't see her right away because he thought what he was feeling was only temporary. It turned out that even though it had been two days, his heart was still restless, and it was like his heart told him to go to her.

That's why today Max came to Seattle University. Max had nothing to worry about since the campus was quite large, and he looked the same age as the passing students.

Unfortunately, he still attracts attention because many girls look at him with adoring eyes for some reason.

Even though he had dyed his hair black, he couldn't avoid the admiration gaze. He might be able to change the color of his hair or the color of his eyes.

He could also increase his body temperature to be the same as that of an ordinary human's body by suppressing his cold energy. But he couldn't change his face nor skin color.

Ah, unless he meets his friend's fiancé's make-up artist… Hmm… it looks like his friend hasn't met his fiancé yet. Plus, his friend wouldn't recognize him, considering he had spent ten years in the coffin and had not met Declan Black.

In the end, he decided to make himself invisible. Max walked towards a secluded area where almost no one was there. After feeling sure, no one saw him, he quickly made his body visible and walked to look for Chleo's class.

Not long after, he tried to follow a group of girls into a classroom. He had no intention of following them, but what they were talking about caught his attention. They were planning something to trap Chleo.

Was the Chleo in question the Chleo he was looking for? But why did it become Chleo West? Didn't Fye say the woman he should love was Chleora Regnz?

Out of curiosity, Max followed them until he saw the figure of someone he had been looking for. Ah, it turned out to be the same Chleo. But why are the other kids here calling her Chleo West?

Max stayed silent while standing in the corner, watching all the scenes in front of him. When the girls ambush Chleo, he knew Chleo was in distress.

He gave a thin smile unknowingly when he saw Chleo was neither afraid nor panicked. Wouldn't a girl usually panic when surrounded by girls who intended to harm her?

On the other hand, Chleo looked calm. However, he was surprised that none of Chleo's other friends helped her or defended her? And yet, he could see they sympathize with Chleo's state.

If they did sympathize, why not help the girl?

Max remained motionless when a girl with golden-brown hair showed a video as evidence against Chleo. As Max expected, he felt nothing for this girl.

He wasn't even worried nor anxious at all. Maybe, in this life... his life partner has changed?

Max decided to return home by using his teleport. But when he raised one hand to snap his fingers, that's when he saw a worried look on Chleo.

For some reason, his heart trembled when he saw that panicked expression. It was as if he didn't like to see that kind of face on that girl.

Max knew nothing. He didn't even recognize his own feelings and was determined to leave. But, for some reason… his body moved without his orders that very second. He froze a little of the black paint, then made his body visible and pulled Ashley's body roughly.

He was confused by what he was doing but allowed his body to move on its own. He packed all of Chleo's things into the girl's bag and pulled her hand away. It was then that he felt the same electric shock flow from his hand.

This time he also saw a strange image in his mind. Max ignored the electric shock and continued to hold Chleo's hand while pulling her out. He was so focused on the image that he didn't realize he was gripping Chleo's hand too hard.

Chleo had absolutely no idea what Dietrich's friends were doing at her campus. She was increasingly unable to understand why her chest was pounding again when the young man grabbed her wrist.

She remembered her heart was also pounding violently the first time she met this young man. But at the same time, there was an unpleasant feeling that made her uncomfortable.

Even on the way to Evie's house, they didn't talk to each other. The one who kept the topic of conversation was Evie, while Dietrich would occasionally speak to her.

The rest were just the lovebirds in front of her who were constantly making out, not caring about the awkward atmosphere behind them.

And now, oddly enough, she didn't mind the man pulling her out through the campus gates. As if someone was telling her to do whatever the man wanted, Chleo could neither resist the man nor rebel.

How strange.

The two continued walking until they reached the parking lot where Max had parked his car. It was only after reaching his car that Max stopped and turned to look at her. The image he saw had begun to blur, and he realized that he had brought Chleo with him all along.

"Why don't you fight back?"

"It's not that I can't fight, but I don't know how to fight them." She didn't know how to fight them without revealing her true identity.

Max's lips twitched at the girl's answer expressed in a matter-of-fact tone.

What he meant was why Chleo didn't fight him when he brought her along. Any normal girl would rebel if pulled over by a stranger she just met a few days ago.

Max was about to speak again when his eyes caught the figure watching them. Falcon, who was watching them from above, told him the man had been following them since leaving Chleo's class.

"Someone's following you."

Chleo immediately turned around, frantically following Max's gaze behind her. Then she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the face of one of her guards disguised as a janitor was there.

"Oh, I know him. He's not a stalker."

"Your bodyguard?"

"Yeah… Hmph!" Chleo quickly covered her mouth with her free hand, and her eyes widened.

Stupid Chleo! How could you carelessly answer this person's question? "Hahaha, what are you talking about? What bodyguard? I'm just an ordinary person." Chleo continued in a lower voice. Somehow she felt guilty for lying. She even felt that she would not be able to lie in front of this person.

Who exactly is Maximillian? Why did he have such strong charisma that it made her not want to do wrong deeds in front of him?

"Uhm... can you let go of my hand? It's starting to hurt." Chleo asked politely as she realized that her wrists were starting to cramp from being gripped tightly by Max's big hands.

"Sorry." Max let go of her hand but quickly grabbed Chleo's hand back as soon as he saw the red marks around her wrist. "Does it hurt?"

Chleo was hypnotized by Max's beautiful blue eyes and couldn't take her eyes off him. Chleo didn't realize Max's fingers were gently caressing the red marks. In the next second, the red marks had disappeared without a trace.

"No. I think… it doesn't hurt anymore." Chleo answered honestly because it didn't hurt anymore, as if the pain had never appeared before.

Little did she know, Max uses his ability to heal her wrist.

It was customary for him to heal an injured person if he accidentally harmed that person. But… this was the first time X felt his body move without his brain's command.

He felt… what stirred his body was his subconscious.

"That's good then." Max didn't realize he was smiling faintly. But he noticed the blush on the face of the girl in front of him.

Why is the girl blushing? And why did he feel… he was fascinated?

Thump! Thump! Thump!

It was the first time he felt his heart pounding upon a girl.

Could it be…

A young girl lifted her head to the blue sky with a blank stare not too far from their location.

"So he's the blue king, huh? Why doesn't he remember it? Even though his brain has no memories of the girl, his body and heart still remember her." said the girl as if she was talking to someone. "Hey, Aslan, what exactly are you up to? Why did you seal the blue king's memories? Are you afraid my Vectis will hurt him?"

As if to give her an answer, the bright blue sky turned dark, with gray clouds appearing to cover the sunlight.

"..." the girl glanced at Chleo and the blue king with an unfathomable look before leaving the location.
