Once they were close to the campus area, Chleo asked Max to park his car in the parking lot. It's a bit far to walk to the campus gate, but at least Max's appearance on campus wouldn't create unnecessary envy from the girls.

The arrival of Alexis and Diego was already made her headache, let alone the appearance of a greek god-like face like this Maximillian.

No. That's not the real reason. Chleo didn't want her friends to see Max's handsome face!

Uh? Why did she think like this?

"Are you sure you don't want me to drop you off in the lobby?" Max's question interrupted Chleo's thoughts.

"Hm. I'm sure."

"Alright, then."

Max complied and drove his car through the campus entrance and onto the parking lot.

"I will give my assignment for a while, and then after that, I'm done."

"Hm. I'll be waiting for you at the cafe."

A blush suddenly appeared on both of Chleo's cheeks. Somehow this conversation is like lovers' conversation.

"Then, see you later," Chleo said without looking Max in the eye because she couldn't contain her embarrassment.

Chleo opened the car door and got out. She ran fast while her face flashed a smile that Max couldn't see.

When Max got out of the car, he glanced at the Falcon perched on the tree. A second later, Falcon flew after Chleo silently.

Max still remembered the video that cornered Chleo yesterday afternoon. He was worried that things would happen to Chleo later. That's why he sent Falcon so he could see what would happen to Chleo.

As for Chleo herself, she wasn't afraid to walk through the campus corridors. She proceeded to look for her professor to submit her assignment book.

As Chleo walked up the third floor, four girls suddenly appeared and blocked her way. Chleo had no recollection of ever meeting these girls. But she knew they were in the same gang as Ashley.

The girls pulled Chleo's hand forcibly towards a place before she could ask the girls' intention.

"What are you doing? Let me go!"

Chleo tried to resist, but Chleo couldn't fight back due to the outnumbered. If it was just one or two people, maybe Chleo could still fight back and win. But her strength wasn't big enough to fight four people at once. Moreover, these four girls were infamous for being wild and rogue on this campus.

Ugh! What do these girls want from her?

In the end, Chleo no longer fought because it was just wasting her energy in vain. She chose to see what Ashley wanted while thinking of a way out.

Furthermore, she was sure one of her bodyguards was nearby. If she were really in danger, only then would her bodyguards appear.

Hhhh… Chleo hoped that her bodyguards wouldn't have to step in to help her. Otherwise, her father would come personally to pick her up back to New York.

Chleo was getting restless as they led her to the top floor of the building. Why would they take her to a place where people rarely go?

Even though she started to panic, Chleo didn't show it in front of them.

Once they got to the roof, Chleo saw Ashley sitting there with two other girls.

Chloe shook her head. Who is Chleo in Ashley's eyes to mobilize her entire gang just to kidnap her to this place?

In the people's eyes, Chleo was just an ordinary and weak, poor girl who happened to be friends with Evangeline Bernz.

Therefore Chleo was extremely confused why Ashley considered her such a great rival.

"Chleo West. Who are you, really?"

Those were the first words that came out of the ash-brown-haired girl's mouth.

"I am me. Why are you suddenly interested in me?"

Chleo suspected that one of her bodyguards must have done something to Ashley. It was just that Chleo didn't know what her bodyguard was doing, which made Ashley wary of her.

"Who do you think you are? Why would I be interested in a lowly girl like yourself?" was her reply in a haughty tone.

"If you're not interested in me, why did you gather all your gang to drag me here? Doesn't that mean you're afraid of me?"

"Ha! Afraid of you? You're dreaming, Chleo West!"

Chleo gasped exaggeratedly when her name came out of Ashley's mouth.

"Oh, my! You even know my full name? I'm flattered that our campus idol from the other department recognized my name."

Ashley felt furious at Chleo's sarcasm. She should have been mad because she felt insulted, but at the same time, she couldn't be angry because Chleo's tone of voice seemed to be flattering her.

Ashley couldn't refute Chleo's brief sentence either. At first, she didn't know Chleo's real name. But since Chleo was visited by handsome and great-looking young men, Ashley began to find out Chleo's background.

She became furious when she found out Chleo's background was just an ordinary person. She has no powerful custodian or family bond in the upper ranks. Logically, Chleo couldn't be compared to Ashley at all.

However, when she reported the edited video incident that suddenly returned to the real one, one of her father's IT team members informed her that someone had hacked their defense program system.

Her father even told her not to touch someone on campus because someone already gave him a warning.

Her father didn't say who, but Ashley's guts told her the person her father was referring to was this Chleo West.

Why? Ashley didn't understand at all. For someone like Chleo, why did her father's most important supporter protect her? Why would anyone protect Chleo from behind the scenes?

And the thing that irked her the most, why were Chleo's eyes so bright and not showing any fear in her? It was as if she was sure that someone would come to save her.

Ashley couldn't help but wonder. Was offending someone like Chleo the right thing to do? It didn't matter if Chleo just came from an ordinary background. But it would be a big problem if it turned out that the other around.

After all, it didn't make sense to see how close Chleo was to Evangeline Bernz. Evie from the business department was known to be very picky in choosing friends. If not from her circle, she would not continue their friendship.

Even Ashley herself found it hard to get a good impression in Evie's eyes, especially Ashley did not like Chleo.

Confess? Chleo couldn't help but be suspicious of the girl.
