Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 85 - Ch. 85 Cold Palm On Her Forehead

Maximillian only ordered one drink at the cafe while waiting for Chleo. He seemed to enjoy the scenery of the Christmas atmosphere that was about to arrive. But in truth, he was seeing something else through Falcon's eyes.

He kept an eye on Chleo and followed Chleo wherever she went. Falcon flew low just to see Chleo's movement through the windows along the campus corridor. Of course, he didn't have to worry about attracting attention because Falcon had made its frame invisible.

However, Falcon couldn't see Chleo the next second, which made the two of them panic. Max had guessed that something would happen to Chleo, considering that some girls wanted to corner Chleo.

Without being told, Falcon darted quickly around the campus building to look for Chleo's figure. And finally, he found the girl in the open field located at the top of the building.

The field looked murky, with various kinds of unused items gathered there. It was clear that the place was like a dumping ground for big, useless things. One look, Max knew right away it was a place that people rarely went to.

Falcon summoned the birds nesting near the campus area to help Chleo. At the same time, Max told Falcon to wait. He was curious as to what kind of action Chleo would take in a situation like this.

Max was in awe of Chleo's courage. The girl was very good at hiding her fears and could still respond to her opponent's every sentence with a defiant tone. Having extremely sharp eyesight, Falcon could still see Chleo's trembling hands.

The girl was good at hiding it by gripping the two straps of her backpack around her shoulders.

Max's admiration for Chleo was growing, and now he admits he does have an interest in the girl.

When Chleo could no longer defend herself, then Max ordered Falcon to attack the girls. Max smiled, amused when he saw Chleo's reaction, which was so confused and wanted to hide but couldn't because she was surrounded. Her expression was so adorable.

Maximillian took another solemn sip of his coffee as he opened his tablet. He was sure that this time nothing would get in the way of Chleo. That's why he decided to let Falcon himself watch over Chleo while he checked one of his companies in Seattle through his tablet.

Last night, Dietrich told him that his company needed someone who understood fashion and redesigned their old designer work. The current designs are too old-fashioned, while their designers don't want to accept input and still insist on their work.

Dietrich asks Max for his opinion on whether to fire her or leave her alone.

If Max were just an ordinary human being, then he would fire the designer.

But Max is the blue king, and he has lived for almost a century watching the struggle of humans born poor for a bite of rice. That's why he decided not to fire the designer. He would let the older woman work in the company until her retirement day comes.

Max also still has several companies engaged in various other fields. Therefore he does not feel wasted if the turnover in Seattle is reduced.

After finishing checking the results of his company's production in America, Max stored back his tablet. That's when he heard the doorbell ringing, a sign that a visitor had opened the cafe's entrance.

Max didn't look at the entrance but still stared out the window. He thought Chleo was still on campus, so he didn't care who came in or out of this place.

However, he felt a pair of eyes staring at him intensely. He didn't know who was examining him and decided to ignore it. But over time, he became uncomfortable and decided to find the source of the intense stares.

He didn't expect that it was none other than Chleo who was looking at him. Ah, if he had known Chleo had arrived, he would have turned his eyes on the girl.

Max showed his usual smile without realizing it was a deadly attack on the girl. His smile disappeared as soon as he saw Chleo lowered his face.

Did he do something wrong?

Hadn't Chleo been staring at him? Why was she now avoiding his eyes?

Max got up and walked over to the cashier to pay for his drink. Every now and then, his eyes would glance at Chleo, who was still motionless and lowered her face.

Did something happen on campus? Max asked Falcon, which turns out to be nothing but the incident on the roof with a group of girls.

So what made the girl change?

After paying for his drink, Max walked over to Chleo.

"Hey, are you sick?"

Chleo looked up shyly slightly, then shook her head. "No, I'm fine."

Max couldn't believe her answer because he could see the red hue on the girl's cheek. Does she have a fever?

"Are you sure? You seem unwell." Max put his palm on Chleo's forehead as if that was the most natural thing to do.

"..."

"..."

Silence.

Max himself was surprised by his body. How could he just put his hand on the girl's forehead as if his actions were a daily habit?

They had only met three times! But Max was acting like they had met many times.

Max could only hope Chleo wouldn't find him a freak. He lowered his hands and tucked them into his coat pockets. He was worried that if he didn't hide his hand, his hand would wander off and do something unexpected.

On the other hand, poor Chleo could only stand with a thumping heart that could explode at any moment. Her face, which had been hot before, instantly felt cool when she felt the cold temperature on her forehead.

Ah, how nice to feel the cold temperature. Chleo suddenly had a strong urge to feel how it feels to have Max's hands covering her entire face.

Gosh, Chleo! Focus!

Chleo scolded herself for thinking abnormally. How could she possibly think like this? Why would she want a stranger to cup her face?

Even though she now realized that she had fallen for this young man, she shouldn't have this kind of thought.

Alas, Chleo didn't think about her ice prince at all. Since two years ago, when she misrecognized the wrong person, Chleo had given up. She decided not to look for her ice prince anymore. Because she was sure, if the ice prince intended to meet her, then that person would appear.

That's why Chleo suspected nothing when the cold palm pressed against her forehead.

Especially with Maximillian's still amnesiac condition, even though Chleo called him the 'ice prince,' Max wouldn't remember it.
