Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star
Chapter 87 - Ch. 87 Chleo Jealous
"I'm really fine."
"..." Chleo didn't believe him.
"I feel better now." Maximillian sighed resignedly at the stubbornness of this black-haired little girl.
Just because he had an excruciating headache, Chleo panicked to death and called Dietrich. Now not only Dietrich came here, but Fye also came with him.
As a result, they even had lunch together with extraordinary awkwardness.
While enjoying the meal, Max could feel the glances from next to him, which were pretty routine.
"I'm really okay. You don't have to worry."
"That's right. He's not someone who gets sick easily," added Fye in a cheerful tone. "By the way, we haven't gotten to know each other yet. My name is Fylorania Schoskovia Marlandishce."
"I'm sorry? Flora... what?" Chleo found it a little difficult to pronounce the girl's weird name.
"Just call me Fye. It would be easier."
"Fye." Why didn't she tell it earlier? Chleo grumbled inwardly. "My name is Chleo West."
"Hmm. I know."
Chleo frowned at this. Fye know her name? How did she?
Nevertheless, Chleo didn't think much of it because she was still worried about this young man who had captivated her heart.
His skin already looks pale, especially when the young man groaned in pain, his lips that should have been red turned white like his skin.
At least the young man's lip color was back to normal, and Max's expression didn't look sick either. In the end, Chleo was silent again as she continued her meal which he had barely touched.
"So, how far did you guys go?" asked Fye bluntly, making Max and Chleo choke on their food.
Max looked cynically at Fye, while the annoying time master ignored him. O the other hand, Dietrich only sat still, devouring his food regardless of the tension between the two rules of nature. He viewed himself as eating alone and pretended not to know the two people.
Ah, if only Evie were with him.
"I think… there was a misunderstanding," stated Chleo nervously. "We don't have that kind of relationship."
"Eh? Then why are you so worried about my brother?"
Max stared dagger at Fye, who was sitting across from him.
'Since when did I become your brother?'
As if he could communicate through his eyes, Max asked Fye in vain as the girl ignored him for the nth time.
He suddenly regretted bringing Fye with him to America. He should have left Fye in England and let the cops go after her and arrest her.
"Brother? You two are siblings?" Chleo was more surprised yet relieved to hear that this uniquely beautiful girl was Max's sister.
No wonder they both have gorgeous faces. Both of them were beautiful and handsome, and Chleo felt that their level was way above average.
However, the two of them did not resemble each other, so that no one would think that the two are siblings. Chleo shouldn't have doubted it, especially since she and her brother aren't that much alike either.
In fact, her mischievous brother always clung to her as if the boy was her lover, making all the young men who wanted to approach her give up their intentions first.
Everyone wouldn't have thought that Diego was her younger brother if Chleo hadn't told them.
While Chleo waited for an answer, Fye just gave a mysterious, unfathomable smile. Chleo glanced to the side, waiting for a confirmation, but Max just sighed heavily and didn't verify anything.
Chleo glanced at Dietrich, who was instead busy devouring his food as if he was dining alone. The young man thought he was enjoying his lunch alone and happened to be sitting at the same table with Chleo because this place was the only one empty, while the other sites were already full of people.
Since no one confirmed Chleo's question, the girl was even more puzzle.
So are Fye and Max brothers or not? Why did Chleo want to know the answer? For some reason, she felt she would feel relieved if it turned out that Fye was Max's sister.
If it turns out that Fye is not Max's sister… somehow, her heart will feel gloomy.
"Dex, are you still looking for a new designer?" Max suddenly changed the conversation, which interrupted Chleo's thoughts.
Dietrich, who didn't want to interfere between the tension of the two rulers of nature, looked at Max in confusion.
As far as he remembers, he never suggested looking for a new designer. He hopes to fire one of the old designers, but Max already dismissed his suggestion. Of course, he didn't fire the old lady because the company owner had said so. But that doesn't mean he will be looking for a new designer.
Why does his employer even ask if he is still looking for a new designer? Since when did he look for a new designer?
"Chleo just happens to be looking for an internship. Maybe you can hire her."
Chleo widened her eyes, not expecting Max's words at all. For the second time, she choked on her own food while waving her hand quickly.
"No. That, I don't want to bother anyone. Don't mind him." added Chleo in a hurry to her cousin's lover.
"Didn't you say you needed…"
"Max," Chleo subconsciously gave Max a pleading look without knowing her expression at this time, making Max hard to breathe.
He couldn't help but find her… adorable.
By this time, Chleo's brown eyes were teary, and her cheeks were flushed red. Chleo pressed her tiny lips tightly together as if she was trying to keep herself from screaming. Her feminine, perfect brows knit together to add to her beauty.
Her facial expression was... making him skip a beat.
It was the first time a girl had been able to make him stop breathing. Max had to clear his throat a few times to calm his already racing heart before turning his gaze back to Dietrich.
"Forget what I said earlier."
Dietrich, who had been trained by his parents to serve the blue king, quickly understood the bait.
He was a fool and was incompetent to be the blue king's assistant if he didn't understand the meaning of his previous master's words.
"Miss West, what my friend said is true. We need a designer in our place. One of our designers suddenly stopped for personal reasons while we had so many orders that we were short of people. Our situation is urgent and requires a replacement immediately. If you don't mind, maybe you can come over to our place tomorrow for an interview. What do you think?"
Chleo bit her lip nervously. Of course, she was happy to get a job to fill her free time during the holidays. But is it okay for her to accept the young man's help? What about the ban from her father?
"I guess I'll take it if it's not a bother."
"Not bothersome at all. I will contact my HRD."
"Thank you."
"Thanks for the meal. I'll excuse myself first." Dietrich said his goodbye and glanced at the violet female king. "Miss Fye, don't you have an appointment after this?"
"Ha? With whom?"
"Someone. Please come with me." politely and respectfully, Dietrich pulled Fye's hand off their dining table.
Max smiled happily at how understanding Dietrich was of the situation. Finally, he could enjoy his time with Chleo in peace.
"Uhm… so is Fye really your sister?"
Chleo should have thanked Max first for paving the way for her. But instead, she felt even more disturbed by the relationship between this greek god-like man and Fye.
How could she not? Chleo remembered the first time Fye came with Dietrich to check on Max's condition; the girl looked very intimate when she approached Max. She placed her palm on Max's forehead while stroking it gently as if to ease the man's pain.
Chleo felt jealous but couldn't do anything about it. She had no reason to be jealous, and it also seemed that Max's condition was gradually improving when his forehead was stroked like that.
If only the two were siblings, then Chleo could accept the intimate scene. Perhaps she would have done the same if her brother had fallen ill. But if it turned out that they weren't siblings...
Chleo would be very sad.
On the other hand, Max didn't understand Chleo's anxiety at all. He considered the scene where Fye stroked his forehead was normal. Maybe in the eyes of humans, they thought Fye was stroking affectionately towards him. But in truth, Fye channeled a small portion of her energy straight into his head which was stricken with pain.
Max couldn't meet the red king in person because of their highly conflicting energy sources. However, he was able to get close to the violet king because their energy source was similar.
When the red queen was hit by the cold energy of the blue king years ago and was dying, the blue king asked the yellow king, who had a similar force to the red queen's, to neutralize the red king's power.
The Flame King and Gale Master have the same energy frequency so that they could help each other. That's what happened to the Ocean lord and Time master. They both have the same frequency.
"..." Chleo didn't believe him.
