"So... what is Dietrich's friend doing in front of the house? Where are Dietrich and Evie? Why are there only the two of you?" interrogated Diego. He acted like an overprotective older brother by crossing his arms in front of his chest. 

On the other hand, Chleo could only lower her head in silence as if she had made a mistake.

"He… he drove me home. Only that." was her short answer.

She was nervous, and this made Diego frown in confusion.

Usually, if Diego were interrogating like this, Chleo would just be indifferent and told him what she was doing with her male friends.

Chleo wouldn't even feel nervous nor guilty like now whenever she shared her activities with her brother.

This is precisely what makes Diego even more suspicious.

"Chleora, you must have done something naughty, don't you?"

"Ha? Something naughty… what do you mean?" for the first time since the interrogation started, Chleo raised her head with a confused face.

"Are you planning to cheat on Alexis?"

"W… What? Of course not! I mean... this isn't cheating. I haven't reciprocated his feeling yet." Chleo protested sternly. "Besides, whatever I do with Max is none of your business. Tomorrow he will pick me up and accompany me for an interview at Dietrich's company. You can't be rude to him. Get it?"

After that, Chleo stood up and immediately locked herself in her room. She took a deep breath because she had been holding her breath for a long time during the interrogation session with her brother.

"Phew… this is the first time I'm afraid of my brother," she wiped the imaginary sweat on her forehead.

Meantime, Diego was still sitting on the sofa, and he was astonished at his sister's reaction.

This was the first time his sister had reprimanded him. So was the first time his sister had defended a man in front of him! 

Furthermore, Chleo even had told him of her plans to go out with a guy!

Oh my gosh! What's wrong with his sister? Chleo must really like this blue-eyed guy.

It was no secret that Chleora Regnz had a unique obsession with blue-eyed people. Could it be that unknown guy would steal his sister from him?

All this time, Diego was not too worried if a young man approached Chleo because their eyes were not blue. He only worried if the guy who tried to woo her had blue eyes.

Diego didn't want his sister to be taken by a stranger. He did say that he would support Chleo to be whoever she wanted to be with. But still, he couldn't accept that some unknown guy steals his sister away. 

Diego quickly reached Alexis and shared his suspicions. For now, he was more supportive of Alexis to fight for and win his sister's heart.

Alexis was the only person who deserves to be with his sister.

"Hello, Alexis. Sorry, did I disturb you?"

"Not at all. What is it?"

"When are you coming back? You have a new rival here."

"..." Ha?

"Don't worry. I will make sure that no one snatches my sister away."

Alexis chuckled on the other end. "It is an honor for me to have the full support of you. But Diego, I decided to give your sister some time. Besides, I still have to focus on my family's company here. I can't go back there for a while."

"Hhhh... Aren't you afraid that my sister will fall in love with another young man?"

"Your sister is still young, and her journey is still far. If we can't be together in the end, it means we're not meant to be together."

"Ahhh, my sister has been lucky to meet such a kind person like you. I wonder why it's so hard for her to accept you."

Again there was a witty laugh from the other side. "I promise, when I come back later, I will fight for my love for her. I won't give up until she completely rejects me. How is it?"

"I guess I'll just have to wait. So when are you coming back?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe around March or April. Maybe even longer than that."

Diego snorted at that. If Alexis returns in March or April, then there will be no guarantee that Chleo will not fall into the arms of another man besides Alexis.

Diego wonders why Alexis parted with Chleo that easily. The young man was so aggressively approaching Chleo during these two years and winning the hearts of his family.

Does his family company mean more than his sister's? Wasn't there someone else who had temporarily replaced Alexis' position?

Were the young man's feelings only limited to this?

Diego had no idea that Alexis was currently facing quite a complicated problem. No, not quite. But very, very complex.

It was clearly written that all control and ownership of the Peskhov family would be handed over to him when he was twenty-one in the Peskhov family's inheritance. All without exception, including the assets owned by Alexsei Peskhov.

Now he was twenty-four years old and ready to handle all the ventures he will hold. But suddenly, a lawyer appeared with the news that Alexis had a brother.

And the lawyer also brought a valid will signed by Alexei that the youngest son would own all of Alexsei's assets?

Alexis felt a headache hearing this. If he did have a brother, why didn't he know it? Why didn't his grandfather or uncle told him?

Well, he could accept it if his father only wants to bequeath the assets he owns only to the youngest son. At least he could still control most of the shares and assets owned by his grandfather and uncle.

However, he found out the will that was supposed to be addressed to Alexis had now turned to a foreign name. Alexis suspected that the foreign name was the name of the person who claimed to be his brother.

How do actual will be rewritten? Could it be because of his brother?

How could his brother have the ability to change wills? Something was wrong, and Alexis couldn't let his brother get what he wanted.

If it turned out that this brother was indeed his biological brother, then Alexis would let it be. After all, he could find another business that meets his passion.

Even though he would never be able to stand on par with the Regnz family, but at least he could prove himself to Vincent that he was worthy of proposing to his only daughter.

But... what if the person who claims to be his brother is a fraud? What if this man had evil intentions after gaining complete control of all the assets held by the Peskhovs?

He couldn't let that happen. He didn't want someone to destroy his family's reputation.

He didn't want his grandfather's hard work to be destroyed in the hands of a bad person.

That's why he decided to save his grandfather's company first before thinking about his future with Chleo.

If he couldn't protect his family, how could he protect the woman he loves?
