Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 92 - Ch. 92 Shooting Game

Chleo still remembered many young people often invite her to arcade games when she was in school. Since she didn't want to be followed by the guards, which would embarrass her later, she often let Diego tagged along with her.

She also remembered Diego cunningly challenge her friends to play this kind of shooter game. Diego always came out victorious until her friends felt embarrassed, especially when Diego mocked and blabbered out about his shooting skills.

Chleo never scolded Diego but instead laughed along with her brother. She was even proud of Diego and had never been mad at the boy until her friends called her the bias queen.

Well, Chleo was always biased, and she gave no care.

That's why she was delighted to see Diego could immediately get along with Max.

Chleo, who was just standing beside watching the two young men engrossed in playing, just smiled. Usually, she would feel bored just looking at it. She also wants to play. But she didn't really like this kind of gunplay. Moreover, the enemy that must be shot was a zombie that looks ugly and scary.

But strangely, she didn't feel bored at all. In fact, she was engrossed in watching the unusual interaction between Max and her brother.

At first, she thought Max was a quiet person and didn't like to talk much. But that man proved her wrong because Max was talkative and exchange laughter as if he was the same age as Diego.

"Chleo, do you want to play it?"

Chleo's reverie was broken when she heard Max's question. Her heart felt warm that Max still remembered her. Chleo thought Max would be too busy playing along with her brother and had forgotten about her presence.

It looked like her own brother had forgotten about her for a long time!

"No. I'm not very good at playing this one."

"I will teach you."

"Okay."

Chleo took a black toy gun that was large enough in both her palms. She tried to aim, press whatever he could find, but she still didn't know how the game worked.

"Not like that. But like this."

"!?" Suddenly, Max hugged her from behind. Her tiny two hands that held the gun were now covered with two bigger hands. Chleo could even inhale a pleasant scent from behind her.

Thump! No one knows but Chleo that right now, her heart was beating as fast as a rocket.

"It's like this."

A second later, Max released his grip and stood sideways so Chleo could move freely. Only, ever since Max gave her a back-hug, she had stopped breathing! It was only when Max stood away that she remembered to take a breath.

The annoying thing was that this man seemed clueless and didn't realize his actions had made Chleo go ba-thump, ba-thump.

Really. This man could give her a heart attack one day.

On the other hand, Diego, who had seen the short intimate scene, rubbed his eyes when he realized that his sister's face was turning red as if filled with pink blush-on.

'I see nothing. I see nothing.' he said to himself like chanting a spell.

It was the first time he had seen his sister being hugged by a man, and it was also the first time he had seen his sister blush like a girl in love.

He had no recollection of his sister ever acting like this whenever she was with Alexis.

Ugh! It looks like his sister is really in love.

At last, the game started. Since Chleo had never played this type of game, her avatar was often bitten by zombies. She even seemed to be a burden to Diego.

"Oh, sister. We're so lost. Just let him play."

Max laughed out loud, amused seeing Chleo's lips starting to pout.

"The second round has already started. Just focus on the monitor." Max said as he hugged Chleo from behind again, causing a certain heart to jump out of its place.

Gosh! Max told her to focus on the monitor, but how could she do it when Max's hand cupped her two smaller ones? Her heart was hammering, especially when one of Max's fingers led her finger to press the trigger of the toy gun.

Too close, too intimate. Why isn't Max reacting to anything? Wasn't Max as nervous as she was?

Because Max got her back, Chleo could finally keep up with her brother's score, who was now more enthusiastic about continuing the game. Both Max and Diego refocused on the monitor killing the zombies, while Chleo couldn't focus on the monitor at all.

Having managed to calm her pounding heart, Chleo glanced at the monitor as if she wanted to play it seriously. They managed to clear the second wave with ease, and now they entered a dark place. Even though no zombies appeared, the creepy sound that accompanied the arcade game was still loud.

Then suddenly…

"GROWL!!" All of a sudden, an enormous and frightening zombie head appeared on the monitor, making Chleo jump in surprise.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Even Max and Diego were also surprised to hear her thundering screams.

They were not startled by the appearance of a zombie's head, but they were surprised by the sound of Chleo's screams that beat the loud sound of the game's thriller music background. Even the other visitors became intrigued and glanced at them.

Surprisingly Chleo continued to shoot zombie heads without fear. Max was curious at the girl's aiming because Chleo's aim target was uncertain. He looked forward a little to find out that Chleo was shooting while closing her eyes.

Why is this girl so adorable?! Max could barely hold his amused laughter.

"Aw, sister. You should have shot it straight in the brain, not its hand." Diego's grumble made Chleo glared at her brother with a frown on her face.

"I don't want to play anymore. You guys do it." Chleo said as soon as their avatars died and handed the toy gun to Max.

"How about we go somewhere else? I heard there would be a show in the town square."

"What show?"

"Dancing fountains."

"Really? I want to see it," remarked Chleo enthusiastically.

Diego noticed the gentle smile on Max's face while looking at his sister. For some reason, Diego felt himself to be in the limelight for the two. However, Max would continue to talk to him like he was not a nuisance at all. That's why Diego didn't care whether he was going to be limelight or not. Besides, his sister didn't kick him out, and Max also felt comfortable taking him along.

Without him knowing it, he started to change his view about Max, yet there was an uneasy feeling in his heart.

For some reason, a voice in his mind told him to hate Max. He felt something substantial forcing him to keep the blue-eyed man away from his sister.

Not too far from their place, a girl was watching Diego's every move.

"I can't wait for your 16th birthday. By then, you'll remember everything." was her monologue to herself.
